By Crystal Cronkite a DHS The last week of league games for the Rabbits began with an upbeat as Delta triumphed over the Millard Eagles on Feb 23 in Fillmore Rob Fowles led in points scoring 26 He also had 18 rebounds to lead the Rabbit victory “We're really glad we could keep the axe and rule over the Eagles" said Fowles Delta dominated the throughout game outscoring the Eagles in every quarter except the third when they were short only two points The Rabbits traveled to Beaver on Feb 25 to face the Beaver team The loss for the Rabscore ended in a bits Leading scorer for the entire season Rob Fowles was injured in the first minute of play and was unable to play the rest of the game He was hit in the eye and unable to see because his pupil wouldn't dilate Craig Thompson also was unable to play due to illness so the Rabbits struggled attempting to maintain some sort of team unity Delta did actually lead the Beavers at 8 but were the end of the first quarter unable to hold on to the lead “We came off a little bit low We were so high from beating Millard I think we had an emotional let down" said Ttavis Blaekweldcr Leading scorers for Delta were Marty Laughlin with 17 and John Willoughby with 13 Delta will play in the Region Round Robin Tournament being Delta is ranked fourth and will play against fifth ranked Hurricane on Thursday at 2:00 pm The first ranked team Richfield w ill play Beaver ranked eighth Third ranked North Sevier will play Millard number six Second ranked San Juan will play seventh ranked Kanab WM Rec standings Men’s basketball Swim pool news Two more members of the 50 mile club have reached their goal Shirlene Wright and DeAnn Burton received their 50 mile cards last week Both Shirlene and DeAnn are faithful morning lap swimmers and have gotten other members of their families involved in swimming at the pool Swimming can be great family fun To encourage and accommodate families West Millard Community Swimming Pool offers a special rate on Monday nights The whole family gets into the pool for $350 from pm The Middle School students finish their swim lessons this week and the North Elementary students begin Monday March 5th The students will ride a bus over to the pool every weekday for a 40 minute lesson A bus takes them back to school All parents have to do is make sure to sent a swim suit and towel!
