Hinckley and Delta Ladd and May Cropper were married March 24 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple In celebration of their parents 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary their children are hosting an open house for relatives and friends on Friday March 24 from 7 to 9 pm in the Canyon View LDS Second W'ard Chapel on 9th Street and Harrison dfalvd in Ogden Utah No gifts please He was Principal of the Hinckley Llementary School taught Seminary and music at the Hinckley High School and was also Principal of the Seminary at Delta High School He and his wife May directed and accompanied the Desert Sentinels Male Chorus This Chorus presented concerts throughout the states of Utah Idaho and Nevada The Desert Sentinels and the Deseret Stake Choir were privileged to sing at a number of General Conferences of the LDS Church The Sentinels Chorus won first place in the Utah Federation of Music Clubs in the Salt Lake Tabernacle Mr Cropper served a mission in the Northern States and has held a number of church positions high counselor music director in several Stakes and at present is a sealer in the Ogden Temple He has taught in the Seminaries and Institutes of the church for 41 Hinckley Rodeo competitions mission in the British Mission in Lngland She has served many positions in stakes and Wards of the Church She is an accomplished musician and is very gifted in arts and crafts and home making She has served as an ordinance worker and a supervisor in the Ogden Temple She is an avid sport lady and loves to fish with her husband They both attended BYU where Mr Cropper received a Master of Arts Degree They have organized and directed many choirs male choruses and smaller groups in Ogden several of which have sung in the LDS General Their Reno NV Male Conferences Chorus sang at the World's Fair in Seattle They have taken their choruses on 33 missionary music tours in the United States Canada and Mexico Recently they were honored by the Utah State Legislators and the Governor for their services in Church and Civic activities and their Their four daughters husbands arc: Paul and Sylvia Sorenson Michael and Mahne Crockett Walter and Camille Wright and Kelly and Colleen Hawkes They have Lynda J Hopkins of Delta Utah has completed at recruit training Marine Corps Recruit Depot' San Diego During the II week training cycle Hopkins was taught the basics of battlefield survival He was introduced to the typical daily routine that he will perience during his enlistment and studied the personal and professional standards traditionally exhibited by Marines He participated in an active physical conditioning program aodg(UPed pro4 fluency in a variety of military skills' including first aid rifle marksmanship and close order drill Teamwork and were emphasized throughout the training cycle A 1988 graduate of Delta High School he joined the Marine Corps in October 1988 Ekins completes course Pvt Kyle W Ekins son of Duane H Lkins of Delta Utah has completed a tracked vehicle mechanic course at the US Army Armor School Fort Knox Ky During the course students were trained to repair engines transmissions and the fuel electrical and air hydraulic systems of the Army's tracked vehicles They also learned to perform recovery operations for abandondisabled or mired ed damaged vehicles He is a 1988 graduate of Delta High School BIG Over members and guests attended a recent party sponsored by the Fine Arts Club Louise Lyman president assisted by officers Marilyn Church and Maurine Campbell were in charge of the occasion Dinner was served at the M E Bird Center with Dean and Delores Meyers catering Musical program was by the Delta High School Chorus the group which plans to give several concerts in Europe this summer Club members are busy arranging for district and fight against birth defects According to Doreen Hendrickson March of Dimes special event this years March brought coordinator in over $87XXj for the Southern Utah Division $86860 is being used in the Greater Utah Chapter in Grants for 989 This money has been given to apacproved educational institutions credited hospitals and health agencies who were Individuals in the area helpful in their
