during the advises officials next two months of from the Utah Department A project to do flood Transportation of repair work on that section to begin is scheduled highway immediately and will be completed by March 31 The project involves replacing at six drainage pipes exisiting separate locations along the 11 mile between Nephi section of Temp and Levan and at a single location on State Route 132 just east of Nephi at the mouth of Salt Creek Canyon The new drainage facilities will be larger structures designed to handle flood waters Pipe culverts will be installed at two locations and precast concrete boxes will be placed at the other five locations Motorists will have to exercise more caution than usual when traveling on this stretch of highway The contractor will excavate one side of the roadway at a time to install the new drainage structures allowing only traffic past the construction area In and road addition slick fog conditions in that area are not so unusual this time of year motorists will have to be extra observant for signs and flagpersons The existing drainage structures adequately handled runoff water up until the last two years when Utah received record amounts of water and experienced major flooding problem This area proved to be one of those to prone particularly flooding resulting in the closure of a section of highway and necessitating the use of a detour route for a period of time during each of the past two years The new drainage structures should help alleviate the possibility of that happening again in the future Ralph L Wadsworth Construction Co of Salt Lake City will be doing the work for the Utah Department of Transportation at a cost of $240000 The contract stipulates that work must be completed by March 31 in time for irrigation waters and before spring runoff begins Agronomy meetings in Delta and Garrison On Wednesday February 13 farmers and ranchers will have an opportunity to participate in seminars designed to
