Zmifrauirh 26: Nov Long before the annual Festival of Trees opens each year many hands are busy making it a special occasion for the holiday season Now in its 14th year the festival will take place this year on Nov 28 29 30 and on Dec at the Salt Palace The Festival of Trees opened in 1970 beginning a tradition of love It was and concern for children organized by the Women’s Endowment Committee by a group of 15 women from the Bountiful Salt Lake City and Provo areas It is far more successful of the than anyone original group ever imagined The festival depends on charitable of workers people and thousands from all over the state have been and since April busy planning working toward this year’s event A “last call’’ notice is in effect for in those interested who are decorating and donating a tree for the event Tuesday night Nov 24 is tree buying time by invitation only a in purchasing to those interested tree This is done in a silent auction Each year the hospital helps Melville left Fillmore Thursday Nov 8 to drive to Burbank Calif On their way they stopped in Cedar City and stayed overnight with Terri Lynn her hustheir daughter band Terry Baldwin and their four children Avery JR Kimberly and Katey In Burbank they visited with their Ken Sarena her husband daughter and their three children Christensen Branden Lacey and Callie While they were there enjoying the beautiful warm sunshine they also enjoyed a family tour of Disneyland On their way home Monday Nov 12 they stopped in St George where Fried they went to the Kentucky Chicken and visited with the
