members approve the rev ised by law s and to elect new board members This is an exciting time for the museum with the anticipation of our new building on Delta's Main Street The new building will be a housing the Great Basin Museum Topaz Museum local chapter of the DUP Museum and a City Conference Center Therefore the Board of Directors for the museum are looking for new board members to help 1932 to John L and Katie Barlocker Peterson in Delta Utah He married Carmen Day of Fillmore Utah and they were blessed with two sons Kevin and Kelly Raymond was a faithful member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints He worked for the Union Pac the Railroad and retired m Whittier California He is survived by his sons Kevin (Beth) Peterson Kelly (Melissa) Heather Peterson granddaughters grandmother great grandmother Loiv Genevieve Ilia von Larsen 84 of Leland UT March pawed away Wednesday Utah from 12 2008 in Provo complication following heart Genevieve wa bom September 9 1923 the youngest child and only daughter of Iphraim Jacob t liavon and Lois Robison Lhason in Deseret Utah She married her sweetheart Glen Ray Larsen on August 18 1950 for time and all eternity in the Manti LDS Shirley funeral services were held Friday March 2(8)8 at the Granada Saints Chapel in LaMirada California Blaine Hinton Christensen age 81 passed away after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on March 13 2008 in Delta Utah He was bom in Oak City Utah on December 20 1926 to Willard Richard and Genevieve Wright Christensen He was an active member of the LDS Church Blaine was raised in Oak City and attended school there He worked for many farmers in the area until he got work with the Union Pacific Railroad where he worked until he retired in 1992 He also served in the Korean War from November 1950 to November Temple She attended schools in Deseret and Hinckley Utah and graduated with top honors from Hinckley High School in 1941 She excelled in Business and Typewriting which she continued to pursue on scholarship at Brigham Young University She was a member of their "Commercial Teams" and traveled in many competitions She graduated from college with a major in Secretarial Practice and minors in Lnglish and Speech w ith a Secondary Education Teaching Certificate She taught business classes for one year at Hinckley High School to Spanish and then transferred fork High School where she taught Shorthand Lnglish Typewriting and Accounting and then retired for 12 year to rear a family She was asked to return to teaching and took classes to renew her Teaching Certificate and classes m Counseling She later got her and Guidance Counseling Certificate and became the Guidance Counselor for Spanish ork High School where she served for 19 years She retired after 29 years in the education profession She al ays remained activ e in civ ic activities and served as a leader on local slate and national levels in many organizations including American Association of University Women President State President Y'oung Homemaker Association President of Callle Women Association in the county and state National Board of Directors American National Cattle Women Association Professionally she served on Slate Department of Education committees President Nebo School Counselors Association as well as State President of Utah Counselors Association and Utah School Counselor Vocational Guidance Association and many other civic and professional organizations She was ruined ‘’Outstanding School Counselor and lducator of the Year" Her hobbies and interests revolved around her family and their activ Hies She always enjoyed reading and keeping up to dale on current events by reading four newspapers and numerous periodicals weekly She was thrilled at new technological advancements and purchased her first computer at age 70 and look classes 1952 Blaine married RaNae Larsen on June 3 1961 in the Manti LDS Temple They made their home in Oak City They later served a mission to Cove fort which was a highlight of Blaine's life Blaine loved to garden and spend time with his grandchildren They could be found all around town walking driving up the canyon looking lor deer or out at the farm feeding horses Blaine was a quiet kind and loving man He was a fncnd to many and will be greatly missed Blaine was preceded in death by his wife' RaNae L Christensen a grandson Jacob Blaine Hiatt and o sister Ardella Spong Blaine is survived by his children Linda Hiatt of Nephi Ul Clarke (Monica) Christensen of Oak City UT Vern (Vicki) Christensen of Phoenix A Z and John (Vicki) Christensen of Oak City UT He is also survived by 13 a grandchildren Services were held on Monday March 17 2008 at ain at the Oak City 1st IDS Ward friends called on to learn to use it She published many and was books and publications excited to get the internet al age 80 so she could broaden her ftorizons and enuil friends and family She is a life long member of lie I hutch of Jesus ( hnsl of alter day Saints She served as a teacher in all auxiliaries and President ol the Primary and Young Women organizations twice each She also served on the Stake Relief Society Board She and her husband served a DS mission to the Oakland California Mission where she served as the President’s secretary and Glen as fleet Coordinator She has always served and was currently seising as a visiting teacher a calling she loved She is survived by her husband (den her son Rex liason arsen and his wife Sherrie I eland Utah her daughter Brenda lots Larsen Bradford and husband Dale currently serving as Mission Presidcnl in the San Paulo Brasil Intcilagos Mission She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter Jane eora arsen whom she has dearly missed for 19
