Show Millard Countv t ) Chronicle Progress May 30 2007 P aisJ Delta North Elementary Awards Assembly Della North lemenlary held their awards assembly on May 22 2007 Many awards were given for outstanding achievement during the school year Conducting was Karen Ranks PTO President for the school year Mrs Mr Noah recogmed Barbara Nickle for her years of service to Millard School District She will be retiring at the end of the school year She was presented a plaque and a bell Delta North I lenientary wishes Mrs Nickle the best jn hqr ftllurr endeavors Jill Sidwell will be leaving DNLS at the end ol the year She has been the keyboarding and PR specialist Comments were made from students at each grade level telling Mrs Sidwell how much she will be missed and how much fun they had in her classes She was given a bell in membrance of DM S We wish her the best of luck in Cache alley The “Wilbur Wright" award was presented to aurie Mork for all of the countless hours she devotes to volunteer service at Delta North We appreciate her and all that she does especially her work with the Bookmobile The Busv Bee" award was given to Mr Matt Pace Mr Pace has been the Literacy Specialist at DM S Me has given a great deal of attention to how students write He is well deserving of this award Burton was given the DM S School Community Council Mrs plaque for her outstanding contribution to the Delta North Community Council She has served as the councilis president during this past year he Delta North educator of the Year was presented to Mrs Pat Schena Mrs Schena is well deserving ol this award She teaches kindergarten works to the tirelessly on the outdoor classroom distributes the centennial various business throughout Delta and helps in any way she can throughout the school Congratulations Mrs Schena Other awards were given as follows Hello Awards Outstanding Achievement on the Iowa Tests Keyboarding Awards President's Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement President's Award for Outstanding Academic Lvcellence Delta North Citizenship Awards Perfect Attendance and W hopping Attendance A special thanks goes to all who have helped in any way with the assembly Service-Learnin- Third Grade’s Day Out North lemenlary had The Third Graders of a fun day out on Delta Tuesday May 15 2007 They began their adventure at the Delta gg farm They were fascinated at how the egg gets from the chicken to the store The hey machines that did most of the work w ere particularly interesting to them he got a refresher course in simple machines made into complex machines students were treated to goodie bags filled with candy pencil and magnet the McKenna Clinic at Veterinarian Basin Great The next stop was kins kins a third grade student along with her parents Dr and Mrs Klell conducted tours for the students The surgery room was fascinating as well as the machine and microscope One student was reunited with Ins dog Kasen had a scare at that was staying at the clinic for shots and a first when he thought his puppy was a pound dog but then to Ins relief he disThere were a lot of tiling children covered fllie was there for his who would have gladly taken Ollie home for their pet' The Third Grade then went to Delta City Park for a picnic lunch They enjoyed the beautiful landscaping and each other's company while they ate their lunches finally the students walked back to the elementary school and played on the playground while small groups toured 7ion's Bank veryonc wanted to know where the money and gold was locked up They learned about safe posit boxes and opening a savings account They were treated to candy before they left the bank The teachers and students would like to thank all who were involved in making this a fun and memorable day for the third grade Wake up and Weed!
