County Merchants this pavt week on their requirement to ask for identification prior to selling tobacco They accompanied underage buyers to businesses in Scipio Hinckley Delta Fillmore and the surrounding areas Out of these county businesses only two were cited for selling tobacco to an underage buv er The Fillmore Shell Station and Duane’s Foodtown along with their clerks were cited into Fillmore City lustice Court for the violations The level of compliance wa good especially in the Delta area Keep it up we’ll be back W intertime tickets There were 64 tickets written by MCSO Deputies Schedule Set Monday March 6 11:16 am 911 dispatch received reports of a property damage accident at the Quality Thriftway Store at 185 East Main Street in Delta Deputy Roger Young sponded and investigated the accident According to his report 22 year old Tiffany Garcia of Delta left her car running with two children inside it while she ran into the A store child pulled the shift lever on the red 1986 Chevy Z28 into drive and the vehicle ran into the wall causing part of it to cave into the store The damage estimate was S5500 and there were no injunes Tuesday March 7 529 pm Howard Jensen 76 ot Delta was cited for Class C misd open container of alcohol in a vehicle by Deputy Alan Purv is How ard w as dnv ing his maroon and silv er 2000 Chevy pickup w hen Purv is saw him drinking from a w hiskey bottle while driv ing down the road He was issued a citation into Delta City Justice Court and the alcohol was booked into evidence at mp 4 on SR125 by Utah 7 00 pm Jake Earl Sentker 21 of Delta was Highway Patrol Trooper Rick Nielson Sentker was driving a green 1993 Eagle Talon when he was stopped for speeding 80 mph in a 65 zone and expired registration A license check showed his drivers license was suspended and he was transported to jail He was charged into West Millard Justice Court with Class C misd driving on suspenBail was set at $300 cash which he posted and was released Sentker was also cited sion for other unknown traffic charges prior to his release from jail Wednesday March 8 935 am Jacqlyn D Jackson 30 and Desmond R White 25 both of California were arrested at mp 158 on by Trooper Gordon Mortensen Jackson was the driver of a white 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue when it was stopped for speeding 97 mph in a 75 zone Mortensen asked Jackson for her drivers license and vehicle registration during the to the vehicle stop She provided her license but could not find the rental agreement Mortensen checked w ith Alamo rental car company who authorized him to impound the vehicle as neither occupant was authorized to use the car Dunng an inventory search of the vehicle Mortensen found approx three pounds of marijuana in the trunk area of the car and both subjects were transported to jail A record check showed that the license Jackson had provided was suspended as well Jackson was charged into 4 District Court with 2 degree felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and Class C misd driving on suspension and speeding White was charged into 4 District Court with 2M degree felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute Thursday March 9 6:00 pm Jamie Robert Key a ka Brett Orton 28 of West Valley City (formerly of by Lehi City Police in at 5 pm He was then transported by Sgt Delta) was Ross Johnson to the Millard County Jail to be booked in on number pair of big money warrants The local warrant had been issued by the 4 District Court in Fillmore charging Key w ith 2"4 degree felony theft of a motor vehicle three counts of 3 degree B felony forgery four counts of theft including both Class A and misdemeanors Bail on that warrant was set at $10000 Key is also being held on a S25000 cash only warrant from Lake theft Salt 3rd District Court charging degree felony County Justice Court has two warrants the first for a $505 Class C misd driving on suspension and the second for a $505 Class B misd false information to a peace officer Last but not least the 4 District Court also has a $220 cash only warrant for failing to comply with a court order The $220 warrant was posted and Key remains confined on the rest of the warrants Unless ending a 4 District Court appearance on March 16 e comes up with a lot of cash for bail Key will then travel the inmate circuit making court ordered stops at all the required destinations prior to his release Friday March 10 1054 am Deputy Roger Young responded to Delta High School on the report of an assault Young worked with school officials and students to determine that a female in the halls of the school After interview s female had assaulted a to juvenile court for Class B and witness statements Young referred the misd assault 12:30 pm Francisco Fabian Araos 32 of Flowed UT was arrested at 765 S Hay 99 in He booked on a warrant that had been issued was $480 by Deputy Devon Quamberg by Nephi Precinct Justice Court Judge Sharia Williams Araos posted the bond and was released pending his appearance in Nephi Saturday March 11 1:25 pm Shaun Douglas Barnett 20 of Logan Ut was arrested at mp 149 southbound by Trooper Mike Thomas Barnett was driving a maroon 1988 Acura construction zone Legend when he was stopped for speeding 76 mph in a Thomas could smell alcohol and marijuana in the vehicle and asked the driv er to step out for field sobriety tests A search of the vehicle uncovered a pipe and marijuana Barnett was transported to jail and chargeJ into East Millard Justice Court with Class B misd DUI Drugs possession of marijuana possession of marijuana and Class C misd speed75 which he posted through a local bondsman and was released ing Bail was set at $2 7:25 pm 911 report of a propane fire at 90 West 100 North in Fillmore Deputies Rick Carter and Steve O'Camb responded as well as Fillmore Fire Dept Deputies stopped traffic while the crew extinguished the fire that had engulfed a propane barbeque between two houses According to firefighters the propane tank had been overfilled and the barbeque w as in use when the overflow valve released the excess pressure This caused the entire barbeque to catch fire and bum some of the hoses off There were no damages to either of the homes and no injuries 8:38 pm David Michael Stewart 36 and Terri Cooke 33 both of Layton UT were arrested at mp 159 southbound by Deputies the area but were unable to located the suspect Sunday March 12 1255 am Raul M Quinteros 33 of Fillmore UT was arrested by Deputies Rhett Kimball Rick Carter and Steve O'Camb Quinteros was the suspect in the donestic assault earlier and was found intoxicated and sleeping in the cab of his 1972 Ford pickup Kimball spotted the truck while on routine patrol anu Quinteros was taken into custody w ithout incident He was transported to jail and charged into Fillmore City Justice Court with Class B misd domestic assault Bail was set at $925 w hich he later posted and was released after signing a no contact agreement with the victim pending a future court appearance or should we say Drive Up? 7:49 am on March 7 Deputy Devon Quamberg took the just north of Fillmore Quamberg met port of a
