running shoes pack your and sleeping bag and join the American Cancer Society's Relay fori ife crowds as the lake lo tracks around the stale County walkers and runners will join in the battle against cancer June 18 and 19 Teams of alking and running enthusiasts will gather at 6 pm Friday June 8 the F)elta High School Race Track for relay s against cancer Relay for Fife is the American Cancer Society 's version of a relay but with a new twist It is a family oriented team event where participants can walk or run around the track Participants camp out around the track and hen they aren't taking their turn running or walking they take part in family fun activ ilies games contests and entertainment Teams from companies and organizations collect donations from friends family members and associates and can w in prizes for their efforts Due to the late start in Millard County this year the standard $1 00 donation required from each team member is not necessary Any amount collected w ill be accepted County participants have formed 14 teams however there is still time to form additional teams Others who may want to participate are encouraged to attend and will be placed on existing teams Cancer survivors from throughout the lent county are invited to join in the opening ceremony Friday evening and take part in the relay An honorary lap by cancer sur- ivors is being planned to begin the relay Survivors may contact Joyce Ashby at for additional information Volunteers will cook donated ostrich burgers and turkey steaks for participants during a dinner at 7 pm Friday evening Participants from each team will furnish side dishes to complement the meal Breakfast will be served to all participants Saturday morning Spectators are inv ited to join in the meals for a small strong that when he wants to go somewhere he can just drag me along have had to walk him several times a w eck for months It's fun w ashing enjoy Tweety Calvin He likes a bath and stands very still if another cow doesn't run into him Cody Pehrson came out and showed me how io clip Calvin When he was trimming his head Calv in started to cry and il made me sad to sec tears falling from his eyes was about to cry with him am wish going to miss him when sell him could keep him even though he makes me mad sometimes Calv in is a great steer It is my first year showing two lambs know nothing about clipping them or combing out the wool so this is hard for me hope lo get blue ribbons on them They are both pretty w ild and strong The first day took them out one was going It fell on the ground and would not crazy go where was going My brothers were am yelling at me and started to cry working to tame them down and hope they will mind me at the show have learned that pigs are easier to show and ork w ith than sheep are Last year showed a pig and a dairy calf My calf took third place The tudge told me that needed to clean out his ears and should not have taken my eyes off her w hen turned him My is a swine One of the fun experiproject ences I've had with my pig is he likes to dump his water and lay in it fter walking him it lakes quite awhile to water him bcxause he dumps his water several times can be walking my pig and gel halfway there and all of a sudden he is running back to his pen have learned a lot about raising pigs hal to feed them ou don't spray them down after you walk them how to wash them and how to make them he followed by a cane has taught me a lot about responsibility and how to help others My friend and myself work together taking care of our pigs have to
