Eightmile Clay Springs Rocky Ridge Dry Creek Canyon Cascade Fool Bridge Canyon Box Canyon Creek Canyon Wildhorse Leamington Pass Wood Canyon Wide Canyon Cow Canyon Hardscrabble Little Oak Creek and Little Long Canyon Bran bait with carbaryl will be the pesticide used and will be applied at the rate of 10 pounds or less per acre over Mormon cricket hatching areas No applications of bran bait with applicator The no action alternative would allow the range resource to be damaged and the per or on range improvement projects to for the year The forage loss would require that livestock be removed from the allotments early Less food would be available for big game animals Reduced ground cover could also result in soil erosion and site deterioration The migration of the crickets at maturity will result in damage being done to the nearby agricultural crops Both the economic and social consequences of reducing the cricket population are beneicial The effects of Carbaryl on the be lost environment are minimal when compared to the range resource and animal damage caused by high densities of Mormon crickets Reduction in the population density may reduce other the food supply wildlife bran bait impregnated with 2 to percent carbaryl applied at 10 pounds or less per acre The no action alternative will lead to unacceptable rangeland and crop damage Treatment of the crickets and grasshoppers will not cause any significant impacts and will prevent damage to watershed and range resources on the Forest and crop damage off the Forest Based on these evaluations and on public input it appears that no significant impacts will be encountered No threatened or dangered species are known to exist in the vicinity There will be no ground disturbance so archeological clearance is not
