Hollis spent several days last week attending a Jehovah Witness convention in Ogden Howard Gebert from Fort Mr Lauderdale FL visited Mrs Mary Jane Libby at her apt a few days ago Mr Howard is Mary Jane’s cousin Then they drove on to Wisconsin to visit his mother Mr Charlie Thomas had a fall while shopping a while back He is now visiting his daughter in Calif Pat Milwee a daughter from Calif is now visiting Mrs Verda Thomas here at the Sands Charlie is fine no broken bones Mrs Mary Bassett spent one week visiting with her son’s family last week Mrs Lynn W Bassett family in Bountiful UT Mr Bassett works at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden Utah Mrs Melba Crafts and her daughter Anita and baby daughter came from Calif to Delta to visit with Ralph Crafts and Blanch’s home in Hinckley Mrs Jim Thomas spent a day with Verda and Charlie their parents Thomas Jim won a nice award from Thiokol where he works for Superior performance for being one of the best workers They had supper at the Thiokol Training Center Tillie Cisneros and her family from Fillmore Lorraine Mark and Robert Iverson (Jack stayed home to care for the dogs and rabbit) went to the Lagoon Hill Air Force Base and points north and stayed away for a week Lathel and Margaret Calhster and family had a family reunion July 2 at The the Regional Park in Delta Delta High graduates participate in competition Three Delta High graduates recentUtah at the Phi Beta ly represented Lambda National Business Leadership Ohio held in Cincinnati Conference June 29 through July 2 where college students from across the nation met to compete on a national level Debbie Wardle who recently earned her associates degree competed in She is the Information Management daughter of Alan and Julia Wardle Debbie will be going back to continue her education this fall Thayne Hardy son of Floyd and Donetta Hardy placed fourth in Business Decision making Kathie Willoughby Griffin daughter of Dale and Nadine Willoughby placed tenth in the Mrs Future Business Kathie did her Teachers Competition student teaching this spring at Delta High School and West Central Utah Vocational Center and on June 4 1988 she graduated from SUSC All three students represented our state well and we are very proud of them They all had a very enjoyable time and a great experience Good luck to them in the future University and Western Montana College He served a mission to Sydney Australia and is presently engaged in ranching near Dillon Montana where the couple will make their home Friends and relatives are invited to attend an open house in their honor Sunday July 31 Von Tenney home Abraham Utah 7 to 9 No invitations will be sent locally festivities began with swimming at the pool Friday night the Callister brothers served a delicious breakfast then sports and activities for all followed by a program with all families participating with songs skits and speeches Many went to the family farm where they had birthday cake with father and grandfather Lathel whose birthday is July 4 Raymond and daughter Shaunna and son Tom and Von and Marueen and six children stayed over and attended the baptism of Neil and Julie’s son Kasey Saturday afternoon Lathel and Margaret were there also and daughter Raymond Maralyn and and Von and families atended church Sunday with their folks For the reunion there were 107 family members present coming from State Calif and all over Utah and a grandson and wife and family from Mesa AZ Golda Christensen had her grandson and wife Martin Hunsaker from NV come to show her their Tonopah adopted baby from India It was 3 months old and weighs 12 lbs Also her Rita Dancy of Orem granddaughter came to visit Her son Jim Talbot wife and family were here to a class reunion so came to see her July 7 her brother Merrill Stewart of Winemucca NV and sister Oleta Swenson of Hinckley came to visit and had dinner with her Marge and Ed Hawley took the to Portland OR to visit their son Michael his wife Carol and daughter Catherine and two sons Steven and Gregory Catherine stayed out of college and spent the year in Paris France as a nanny as brother Steven started college last fall She had the opportunity to sight see in England Scotland Germany and Holland and took some good pictures of cathedrals and castles Their son and wife drove Marge and CA to visit Ed's Ed to Redding brother Armond and wife Leola Craig and Tammy Edwards Edwards graduates Ann Beck from Kearns Ut will celebrate her 4th birthday on July 12 1988 She is a very special girl is always happy and loves everyone Her Mom and Dad are Larry & Danna Beck and Grandma Shirley Lindsey of Lynndyl & Grandpa Dan Roberts of Provo Ut and great grandma Hazel Sheriff of Lynndyl are very proud of our miracle girl She is Bob mechanical engineering Craig attended SUSC in Cedar City for three years and transferred to USU in 1986 to complete his engineering degree Craig and his wife Tammy are both graduates of Delta High School Tammy daughter of Jackie Cox of SENIOR CITIZEN NEWS Oak City earned her college degree in elementary education at SUSC and is entering into her third year of teaching second grade with the Logan School District Craig is now employed at Hill Air Force Base Department of Defense as an aerospace engineer and redesigns landing gear for the tanker and scanner planes Tammy and their three
