Show Page 8 - USPS Millard County SENIOR CITIZEN NEWS Bessie Webb Eighteen senior citizens journeyed to the newly opened museum at Fremont Indian State Park It is a lovely ride and we felt fortunate to live in such a beautiful state The museum is very nice and as plans for the future are realized the park should be a major tourist attraction Courteous park personnel are on hand to explain the artifacts and tell us of the people who lived in and vanished from the area so long ago After the tour we drove to Richfield It was a windy day but even the chill in the air didn’t spoil our picnic at the city park Good company good food and lots of fun made a very special day Last Wednesday we were entertained at dinner by two lovely ladies Joan Jensen and Susan Henke played and sang several numbers honoring our pioneers and our country It was a nice their and we appreciate program coming The AARP is sponsoring a proAnyone 55 or gram called It is an over is eligible to participate 8 hour the weekend Tom Osmond of Provo spent Saturday night and Sunday with his good friends Bill and Ruth Stevens He attended church with them on Sunday Debbie and Mitch Camp and two children Stacia and Harper moved to Salina last week where Mitch is The Camps have lived in employed McCornick the past two years Debbie is the daughter of Max and Pat Wood Visiting Ellen Stevens last weekend were her daughter Priscilla Koudelka and husband John and four of their nine children Priscilla and her family Idaho are moving back to Nampa in after living in Lima Peru for the past year and a half Cherryl and Robert Wood attended the missionary farewell of Kyle Stott in s Kanosh last Sunday They took Edith Dearden of mother Fillmore with them Visiting Ethel Wood last weekend was her daughter Marsha of Ely NV Ethel went back with her for a visit Wesley and Faye Stephenson returnvacation in northern ed from a California They went by way of Boise where they visited Wesley’s army friend and family In Oregon they took a side trip to Crater Lake Most of the time was spent with friends Barbara and Harold Tower who spend their summers at Klamath in the redwoods On the way home they had an overnight the cousins visit with Wesley’s in San Jose and one night Johnsons with Faye’s cousins the Mayhews at Livermore The annual Mothers’ and Daughters’ overnight campout will be held this Friday at the Holden Church Everyone is invited to come to the program and midnight snack even if they aren’t able Breakfast will be to sleep overnight cooked by the Bishopric Saturday morning The Webelos and their fathers are camping out Friday night up Holden Canyon and will spend Saturday having fun doing activities together KANOSH Dathel Whitaker Ph John and Shelley Whitaker and five children from Fallon Nevada enjoyed a busy vacation in Utah from July 2 to 19 While in Kanosh they were guests of Willard and Dathel Whitaker The children were always ready and anxious to go on the four wheeler or truck with Grandpa Whitaker whenever he left to chore especially the twins Kyle and Brandon John and family arrived in Kanosh in time for the Herman Whitaker reunion on July 3 On July 10 they took in the Ute Stampede at Nephi Between July 15 to 18 the family visited Greg Utah Kesler and family in Heber where they had a very enjoyable stay visited John’s brother Ray and family in Salt Lake and also saw the Manti Pageant John and his son Hayden spent fun times up Kanosh Canyon doing some fishing Leaving Kanosh on July 20 the NV family traveled to Las Vegas where they spent four or five days with Shelley’s parents Annette and Jerry Heki during which time the Hekis took them to Disneyland before returning home to Fallon on July 25 Visiting in Kanosh recently with Thelma and Homer Oldfield was son Richard Burt from Freehold NJ Coming by way of Calif he visited friends and his brother Jim He stopped in Ely NV to visit his sister Virginia Ashby and husband Roger They followed Richard to Kanosh for an overnight visit On July 3 Richard attended his twenty fifth class reunion with where he renewed friendships classmates and also received the award for traveling the farthest was vacation his The rest of spent with his mother and Homer helping with several jobs that needed to be done On his return home to New Jersey Richard stopped overnight in Price Utah with another sister Dorothy and family He was disappointed in not being able to visit another sister LaRue who lives in Clear Lake CA Welcome guests at the home of Bishop and Arlene Turner from Alabama are their daughter Margaret Toper are their daughter Margaret Roper husband Jeff and baby son Ryan They were in Kanosh to enjoy the activities of the 24th of July with the Turner families and will be vacationing here for 3 weeks The activities of the Pioneer Day in Kanosh on July 24 went very smoothly and were enjoyed by a large crowd who lived both sides of Main Street to view the lovely parade followed with a successful auction held at the new cultural hall and a delicious barbecue beef dinner served at the city park at NOTICE OF TAX INCREASE The Millard County Fire District has proposed to increase its visit his mother and other family members at his home town of Glendale UT Mrs Ralph Robinson took their Hannah and Sarah to granddaughters Calif last week The little girls had stayed here with their grandparents while their parents John and Jolene Sevey settled in their new location at Riverside CA It is quiet and a bit lonely at the Robinson household since they returned home Mrs Rodney Tomkinson spent the in Hurricane weekend of July with Christine's family the Ronald Wrights They also visited Rodney’s Connie and sister and Craig Stratton and children Mrs Richard (Kathy) Davidson and five children traveled by train from their home in Cottage Grove OR to visit her father Archie Christensen his wife Shirley and Nancy Archie met their train in Delta They spent a wonderful week
