Show Pge 8 - Millard County s USPS Thurs July 23 1987 FILLMORE HOLDEN Angie Green Cherryl Wood Ph Merle Hone has been having some good times visiting with members of her family Her son Ronald his wife Bonnie Edwards Hone came from NM to spend the July 4 Albuquerque Others coming for the holiday were Ron and Bonnie’s daughter Stephanie her husband Walt and their two sons Steve and Joseph came from Boise ID and Merle’s granddaughter Carrie Ann her husband Brett Mackey and their three children came from Salt Lake City While they were here they attended Carrie’s class reunion On July 9th Ron and Bonnie’s returned to Fillmore to look after Merle She had been involved in an accident in which her arm was broken She was attending a ball game when a football hit her arm Ron and Bonnie stayed until Sunday helping Merle in every way they could Merle’s daughter Rebecca Labrufn is coming July 11 and will stay a few days Please know your Fillmore friends love you and wish you a speedy recovery Marjorie McBride spent a very happy Fourth of July holiday entertaining members of her family in her home Those coming from out of town were her son Kelly his wife Bernadette McBride and two of their children Chris and Sara of Richland WA They arrived on July 3 also coming on that day were Marjorie’s daughter Bonnie her husband Clayton Huntsman and their three children Robert Sonia and Michelle of St George While they were here Kelly and Bernadette attended Kelly’s class reunion Kelly and family left to return home on Sunday July 5 while Bonnie and Clayton stayed on until Monday leaving Robert to spend a weeks vacation with grandmother On July Marjorie 12 the Huntsmans arrived again in Fillmore Clayton and Robert went on to Salt Lake City to attend a business meeting and Bonnie and the two girls stayed in Fillmore When they returned to St George they left Sonia with Marjorie where she will spend a week of her vacation enjoying the cool shade of the patio and cool nights These little things are treasured if you live in St George Wow! Hot! Alta Shumway will be going to American Fork on July 29 to join her son Lafe his wife Joyce Parrish and their children to bid farewell to their daughter Sherri who will be boarding a plane at the Salt Lake Airport which will fly her to Canada where she will begin serving an LDS Mission Sherri’s sister Lori K Parrish is at serving a mission in the present Phillipines Among other friends and family members coming to the home of Paul and Dean Robison were Dean’s sister June and her husband A1 Childer of Buena Park CA who spent three days at the Fourth holiday While they were here they also visited friends and family members in Delta and Richfield On July 14 Roger and Francell and their son of Veradale WA stopped in to visit their Aunt Angie Green on their way to Las Vegas NV Zada Singer underwent major surgery Tuesday July 21 in the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo We wish her a speedy recovery and hope she can come home soon A warm welcome to Calvin and Tammy Bennett and four children who have moved back to Holden from Orangevale They are living in the green house across from Horace Harmon and Calvin will be running Raymond’s gas station Sid and Betty Hunter entered the MTC in Provo last week where they will spend three weeks before leaving for Raleigh NC to serve a mission Ben and Sherry Hunter will be living in Sid and Betty’s home as Ben will be at Millard this fall teaching Ed and Teri Lyman and three boys are here to spend the rest of the summer The Lymans have been living in Texas this past year Visiting Bill and Ruth Stevens this Marian and week are their daughter Dr Kyle Andrus and four husband children The Andrus family has lived in Germany the past three years and will be living in St George where Kyle will be setting up his practice as an eye doctor Celine North and Tami took Jason to the airport last week to put him on He is attenthe plane for California ding Stanford University this summer the Junior Statesmen of through America Celine and Tami spent the week in Ogden visiting her parents while Dean and Jeff were at a scout camp NE Sandy Larsen flew to Linncoln where she spent three weeks visiting her brother Jim Larsen and wife Tracy The Larsens brought her home last week and will be spending two weeks Convisiting their parents Dean and nie Larsen and Bill and Charlene Tuttle Pat Wood and son Jim drove to California last weekend to attend a family reunion Raymond and Ann Stephenson attended a family reunion in Missouri last week Thora McKee recently returned from visiting her children Jonette and family Utah and Randy and in Lewiston family in Heber City and Orlene Visiting Lloyd Christensen recently have been their daughters Sharon Del Toro and four boys from St George and Jeanne Tong and two children from Cedar City They both came to attend class reuand Also visiting grandma nions for two weeks have been grandpa Robert Allan son of Maria Allan of Salt Lake and Erin and LauriChris-tiansedaughters of David Christiansen of Sandy David was down last week to pick up his children There will be a childrens’ parade at 6 pm on Friday July 24 with a potluck dinner in the park after the parade Families with more than five should bring two putluck items Also everyone is asked to bring their own eating utensils There will be games and fun for everyone after the potluck dinner Fast Sunday will be this Sunday in the Holden Ward due to a missionary farewell the following Sunday on August 2 for Earl and Lola Stevens KANOSH Dathel Whitaker Ph Glen and Lilly Whitaker and Kevin and Melanni Lang along with two other traveled Millard couples County together to Marriot’s Tan Tara resort at the Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri They met with six other business associates they are working with from Nevada and Georgia for two and training They all enfun days of joyed getting to know and learn from many successful business ladies from Lake of the all over the country Ozarks is beautiful and the facilities there are excellent They were able to visit many church history sites which are in the area such as Liberty Jail and the visitors center in Independence Having spent several days in the Utah Valley Hospital with a serious ness Emily Pikyavit was brought to the Fillmore Hospital during the past week to be nearer her family Her large family are very attentive to her and visit her often Besides her children and grandchildren living in this area her daughter Floraine is here from St George another daughter Vida Preston and husband Arthur Michail came from North Carolina and her son Ralph Pikyavit makes frequent very concerntrips from Richfield--al- l ed about their mother and grandmother Thursday July 16 1987 was a special day for Matthew Higgs who was baptized on his 8th birthday A special baptismal service was held for him at the Kanosh Ward Church with Bishop Vernon Christensen conducting Opening prayer was given by Jared Higgs Talks were by Matt’s cousin Eddie Martin and his grandfather Willard Whitaker Matt was baptized and confirmed the newest member of the Kanosh Ward by his father Terry Higgs Guest speakers at the Lamanite Branch representing the High Council on July 19 were Dean Bennett and his wife Connie from the Holden Ward who each gave very interesting talks To show how inspiration works Nora Price the organist had chosen very appropriate songs for the Sacrament not knowing before hand Meeting what the speakers’ theme was going to be Mrs Bennett were accompanied by three of their six children Tephanie Thane and Conrad The 22 persons in attendance enjoyed the meeting very much Guest speakers at the Kanosh Ward on Sunday July 19 were High Councilman Gary Robins and wife Rosalie from Scipio James (Jim) Hatton also bore his testimony His brothers and sisters: Patricia Linda Dawnell David and Charlie were also in attendance at Sacrament Meeting We welcome home Rula and Leavitt Christensen who filled a successful mission at the
