See musical this weekend Rodgers and Hammerstein’s popular musical South Pacific will debut on the Delta High auditorium stage March 25 at 7:00 PM South Pacific based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel Tales of the South Pacific by James Michener is a story about the clash of cultures on a tiny island during World War II The play revolves around the romantic involvement of Nellie Forbush a young Ensign in the United States Navy and Emile de Beque a French planter whose peaceful Mark 't Petersen istence is threatened by the war and the bigotry that comes with it David Bird and Jim Larsen alternate and play the part of performances Emile while Kodi Roholt and Gloria Roper split the schedule of appearances as Nellie Others in the cast include Shereef Abdelaal as the comical Marine Luther Billis and Mark Petersen as Joe Cable The play runs from Wednesday to March 28 Curtain time is Saturday 7:00 Admission prices are $300 for adults and $200 for children under 12 Social Science project and maintains a GPA of 375 Trudy Young is the English Sterling Scholar candidate and has a GPA of 3568 She is a member of the National Honor Society and holds the office of school Historian being very active in the sports program She plans on attending the Tech in Orem The reason Joyce Jackson says she tried for the General Category was because she didn’t think she was good enough in any of the other specific areas Joyce says she’s looking for a broad background She thinks the program is very good because it honors students who excel in academic areas Joyce is a member of the Delta High decathalon team and is the president of the National Honor Society She has kept a 3995 GPA and is ranked first in the senior class She is also a member of the student council The Business Sterling Scholar candidate is Tammy DeGraw She has taken many courses that helped her including accounting business education careers and economics computer applications computer programming and
