LMT’s from the local ambulance association worked this week to equip the new vehicle with supplies and radios needed for emergency response Kurt Sorensen president ol the ambulance association said the new truck is sorely needed "We have gone from 1(H) responses in 1982 to 286 in 1985 Already this year we are right on average of 19 per month" he said "The old ambulance we are trading In was breaking down so often we really and without them the US Weather Servile couldn't do the job That job is the daily and hourly reports of temperature precipitation and many other measurments that make official weather reporting station in the West Desert area of Utah between Milford and Salt Lake City There timely report is not only of interest to the average resident but of crucial importance to pilots and farmers whose life depend on what is happening out there Every month the numbers the Jeffery's feed into the central system are commpiled and published allowing planners of all sorts to access data and determine what they can count on any time of the year The weather sevice reporters are also part of the Emergency Broadcast Network and they count on people like the Jefferys to make them aware of any significant natural disturbance as quickly as possible Reed remembers that when the DMAD Dam went out in June of 1983 he quickly alerted the weather service who then had the information before anyone else Reed and his wife supply the ( hroncile Progress with temperature reports each week BLOOD IT'S IN THEIR Thank you the General would like to thank those who soled for me last may and owned by Carl Dameron who lived between Deseret and Hinckley The unusual animal oddity is the offspring of a real buffalo and a Swiss steer The beeffalo is considered a delicacy for the meat eater Some commercial raising of beeffalo herds have been attempted but so far the idea of beeffalo steaks has not caught on As for Carl and his new calf well he may slaughter it but then he said that he may slaughter the buffalo mother After all buffalo meat is well known for it flavor if not for its tenderness But so far Carl has neither and he seems to be enjoying both animals as pets r’ giving away corn and potatoes President Condie declined to give a straight answer and mentioned the recently awarded winner of a Market contest which netted him $500 in groceries Shown here is Doves Manger Bob David (left) and the Pepsi regional representative awarding Lane the big prize The lucky winner was drawn from a hat after gaining the right for the prize by entering a local contest Mr Lane said that he would take the groceries on credit a little at a time rather than a big buying spree at one time TERRY LANE OF DELTA is Buffalo throws “beeffalo” for Millard rancher calf beeffalo $) purchased with $15 (XX) assistance from a state Emergency Services fund and comes with a three year or 36000 mile November Dan Hansen in PepsiDoves winner five seven eight years with a question mark He prefers to keep their and generous gesture on a low profile or as he said the pleasure of it will be lost He did impart some formation on the size of the farming operation which certainly is not small They raise approximately 1400 acres of barley 940 acres of potatoes and 9X) acres of corn three of which are for giving away Can you imagine how many cobs of corn there would be on just three acres? The amount must be unbelievable The corn is over it's harvest period now but there certainly were a lot of lucky people that were able to partake of such an unusual and generous oppottunity Attenud awid Support Your Church T1 I I LUMBER CHURCH HARDWARE & Quality Materials Building 705 West Main I I I Delta I "sFrvice" DRUG in All Eat Out of types Chicken 303 E I I I I Fish B BEST WESTERN PARADISE For Reservations Main No I burgers & Ml 800 I I I I I I 1 I Delta Main B -
