Nicole Aleen Anderson the daughter of Mike and LeAnn Anderson Jodi Lovell the daughter of Ed and Jeanne Lovell and McKay Daniel Anderson and Michelle Anderson the twin children of Daniel and Sherylan Anderson Two eight year olds were baptized and confirmed: Kelli Anderson daughter of Marion Ray and Renee Anderson in 1st Ward and Olan Joshua (OJ) Finlinson son of Vance and Helen Finlinson in 2nd Ward A new baby boy was born to Scott and Karma Lienback in Provo They have another son Luke Grandparents are Reece and Cherie Finlinson Guest for dinner at Gene and Vivian Snow’s home Sunday were Vivian's brothers and sisters Sue and Grant Bagley and sons of Enoch UT Crandell and Gwen Nielson and children Mike and Tina Nielson and sons Lew and Jill Alldredge and children Thayne and Julie Lee and sons and parents Gordon and Clarice Nielson all of Oak City There were 34 members of the family there At the home of Crandell and Gwen Nielson for the Fourth were here brother Larry and Cheryl Orr and nine children of Ivans UT Bob and Sue Jones and 8 children of Bountiful were here visiting and camping in the canyon with Bryant and Carolyn Anderson Carolyn and Sue were room mates when they went to BYU RaNae Christensen took her father to Newton UT to the funeral of her aunt Brent and Loreen Lovell and CA daughter Lisa from Pleasanton were here visiting with his sister LaRue and Leon Alldredge Also at the Alldredges this weekend were their son Shayne and Linda Alldredge and girls from South Jordan Visiting at the home of Lester and Judi Eaton were Judi’s brother Mike Dyll and his wife and sons from Tempe AZ Also at the home of Lester and Judi Eaton are their friends Terry and Diane Allen and family of Page AZ Rosalie Vernon and children Craig Blake and Brooke went to Durango CO for the Vernon family reunion Stewart and Kathy Rowley went with his parents Loren and Buelah Rowley to Richfield to visit his brother Steven and family Deanna Anderson went to Cedar City to play major agenda items were: A report from Sunrise Engineering on the feasibility of putting in a culinary hydro system in Oak City They did not recommend this at this time 2 A discussion on raising power rates by 5 percent because of future power upgrading and repairs but the Board decided to hold off on this for as much longer as possible Law enforcement was discussed and it was decided to contract for more patrolling to help the curfew Because of complications beyond their control the Board voted to change the day for Town Board Meetings to the 3rd Thursday of each month The meeting adjourned close friends Joann has received a mission call to Texas FILLMORE Angie Green Matt and Lee Townsley spent almost month visiting friends and relatives They spent a few days with their daughter Patricia Willingham and her family in Cape Girardeau MO While there they celebrated Matt's and Lee’s Bob’s birbirthdays their thday Father’s Day and Pat and Bob’s 6th wedding anniversary They went to dinner at an interesting restaurant which advertised "throwed rolls" After standing in a long line outside they found out what that meant when they got inside A waitress did nothing else but bring out pans of hot rolls and toss them to anyone who raised his hand No other bread was served All during the meal waiters circulated among the crowd of diners offering servings of several different foods from big kettles which they carried It was a new experience in dining out and the food was good Then they went to Peru IN where they stayed with friends Keith and Grace Vance on their farm Vance’s daughters came from Indianapolis and Chicao for a weekend We all went to a cattle show near Ft Wayne IN where Vance’s third daughter and her family were showing an animal The main reason for the trip east at this time was the 50th reunion of Lee’s high school class of ’36 They spent two evenings at festivities with that group It was nice to renew acquaintances and visit with old friends On Sunday afternoon they attended an open house for the 90th birthday of one of Matt's old school teachers They visited several of Matt’s cousins and his brother while in Indiana From there they traveled to Elkhart IN and spent a few days with Ann and Herb Sailor Ann and Lee have been friends since they were tiny Herb and Matt spent lots of time out taking pictures of the Amish country They all went to dinner at Das Dutchman near Essenhares abusy restaurant IN It was a long wait Shipshewana there too but there were many things to look at while waiting: gift shops bakery displays etc The family style meal was good Lee got to find out is Herb treated what them to two of his presentations that he does professionalschools etc ly for clubs They stayed in MO at Pat’s on the way home and the temperature was in the high ’90s with humidity to match On the way through Lawrence KS they made a quick visit to the parents of their John Willingham They arrived home July 3 The reunion honoring Brian and Velma Robison Jackson was held July 5 1986 in Fillmore at the American Legion Hall They all congregated at Velma’s some going to the craters and others going to the Legion Hall where they prepared for the dinner which was served at 3 pm The food was finished by the attending family members Following dinner a family program was topped off by vidio tapes presented He and his shown by Dean Draper wife Verloise had been attending Dean’s class reunion in Provo and stopped in Fillmore to visit Dean’s cousin Velma Jackson only to run to another reunion They were invited to dinner and spent the afternoon enjoying Velma’s family After the program the children and some of the more adventurous adults went up to the Canyon Road dam to swim There were 52 family members attending Among them were: great time was had by all On July 7 Velma Jackson went to Salt Lake with her son Joe his wife Sherry and their family to attend the wedding and reception of Velma’s Jennifer Jackson and granddaughter Mitch Walker who were married July The recep8 in the Salt Lake Temple tion was held that evening at the Old Meeting House Reception Center This is an old church that was abandoned It was remodeled and made into a beautiful reception center On July 13 the Stephenson and Borup families gathered at the 50th LDS Ward Church in Ogden to witness the installing of Jerry Borup as Bishop This was a special day for Algie Swallow especially since here granddaughter Chris Trottier returned from a months tour of Europe in time to join the family for this special occasion Chris graduated from high school this year and the tour was a scholarship she had won for being an outstanding student While Algie was in Ogden she her sister Olive and her husband Eldon Partridge attended a Fiddlers Convention Barbecue and visited the Lazy-Ranch in Kamas Utah A family visit wouldn't be complete for Algie without spending some extra time in Ogden with her son Sherman his wife Joieene Stephenson and their family and also to top it off she took a quick swing into Salt Lake City and Rachael visited with her sisters Warner her son Gary Warner Ruth Peterson of Lehi and her daughter Kathryn Goates and she Rick served a two year LDS Mission in Bolivia and has also attended the Southern Utah State College in Cedar City for two years Rochelle has attended Cedar City schools Troy and Lori chose July 11 for their wedding at the Jordan River Temple Troy is the son of Dr and Mrs Steve Lunt of Cedar City Lori is the daughter of Mrs Jack LeFevre of Cedar City Following the wedding a wedding breakfast was held in the beautiful garden at the home of Lynn and Gayle Evans in West Jordan The reception was held that evening July 11 in the Ogden 69th Ward and on July 12 an open house was held for Troy and Bishop and Mrs Hunter Kirt and Kyle attended Rick’s wedding Kendell stayed in Provo where he attended National Youth Week Following the wedding Kyle was taken to Provo where he entered MPC to receive training for a mission he will be serving in Brazil On July 18 Roslyn Warner and her children Russell Marcie Robin and Carli came to Fillmore and spent a couple of days visiting Roslyn's mother Marjorie McBride On Thursday July 31 the East Millard DUP Seminar will be held at the Little Rock School House in Fillmore at 2 pm The purpose of the seminar is to acquaint the new camp officers with their responsibilities and to prepare all camps for another year of meetings beginning in September 1986 to May 1987 All officers of the eight East Millard Camps are cordially inv ited to attend A Sweden She left Salt I ake and flew ternational Airport on June to Ohara Airport in Chicago where she met her son Kent Miller who continued the trip to Sweden with his mother They flew on KLM Royal Dutch Airline to Amsterdam then on SA S Airline to Orlando the airport close to Stockholm Kent’s daughter Trudy an exchange student in Sweden met them there and she acted as an interpreter whenever needed They rented a car drive and drove to Smiland an Here they visited south of Stockholm 2 of Mrs Miller’s cousins and hei mother's 180 yr old home in irestad They attended the church vuilt in 1800 and enjoyed the Swedish hospitality food served 6 times a day They enjoyed visiting museums and emigrant house in Vixjo and then saw the glass blowers at work in Oriegois and the beautiful crystal products They took another beautiful dnve to north of Stockholm Sandvikcn to Trudy's host home with more super They enjoyed another hospitality teresting day in Uppsala to see the castle built in 1605 by King Wasa used as a fortress and a museum there They toured churches and cathedials where kings etc are buried in maible crypts and some under the floors lying on top of some crypts were elaborately marble figmes of those sculptured asa buried there The figure of King was extremely elaborate festival held on The midsummer June 21 was a very special occasion with decorated May Pole and many dancers in native costumes The music was by several fiddlers They attended a Sacrament LDS meeting in their new chapel in Gavle and they met a former missionary companion of Greg I They spent 2 days in Stockholm enjoying points of interest including The Royal Treasury of Crown Jewls etc the Royal Church changing of the guards with the Royal band the ship built by King Wios in 1628 it was sunk and laid there 333 years it was raised 25 years ago They visited the medieval underground museum the I DS Temthe oldest street ple of Vasteharinge and enjoyed a boat tour Mrs Miller said that Sweden is a very beautiful country with cool and endless forests of Pine Maple and two types of Birch trees Wild berries are very plentiful The homes and yards arc very well kept They have lovely farms where the is it have been cleared forests beautiful Each farm has a very large red barn with white trim the hay machinery and animals are kept tlteie Farm crops are grain and peas for feed and safflowers for oil for margarine etc There are large story buildings in the cities where a large peicent ot the people live Kent and Mrs Miller lelt Sweden June 25 at 12:15 pm on SAS Airline and arrived in Chicago at 2:15 pm on June 25 due to time differences It was an 8 hour flight Mrs Miller stayed foi near Chicago a visit in Rockford with Kent and his family for a week On June 30 Kent started working on a new job at General Electric in Cincinnati OH He will continue to design engines for large airplanes The family will move very soon from Rockford IL to Cincinnati Mrs Miller
