Was it to make us envious that Marie & Lloyd Payne reported how they basked in warm sunshine on Christmas in St George while we were in a cold fog': Marie said the kids played games outside and they even had Christmas dinner as a picnic on the patio! After 38 years in California snow for Christmas is the only way to go for me though Monty and Sharon Brunson and her family from Fillmore went to Provo on Thursday Jan 9 to escort her brother Elder Edward Wilcox into the Mission Home He will be serving in the Chicago area Also on Jan 9 the Meadow Ward Relief Society held their Visiting The program Teaching Convention by Betty Mae Labrum organized Message Leader was very inspirational and sent us all home deterined to do better in our calling During the course of the evening two special women were honored with a beautiful corsage: Flora Stewart for her constant willingness to play as accompianist for anyone at any time regardless of her own situation and for lovely music she provides for each Relief Society meeting and to Laura Beckstrand for her many years of service as a visiting teacher She is 89 years old and still a faithful teacher Service is the key word here We have a new Mayor of Meadow and we offer our DeLynn Labrum support and best wishes to him Too often we fail to show our appreciation to those who serve us forgetting that it is easier to criticize than to perform the task we are criticizing We'll try to be good Mayor Labrum!
