Hunters stopped at the Rowleys on their way from Star Valley Wyo where they were arranging the sale of their summer home On Monday July 15 Marjorie McBride went to St George When she arrived her daughter and Bonnie and Clayton Huntsman and their three children Roband Michelle had Sonia ert planned a surprise vacation for her They were all packed and ready to leave on Tuesday morning They spent six days in San Diego seeing in and all the places of interest around that area events Some of the outstanding were touring Sea World and a ride on a tour boat Balboa Park the museum in Petaluma attending a big league baseball game played by the Padres and Cubs a day on the beach a sunburn a view of the huge Naval ships and colorful sailboats in the boat harbor dinner on the ship Star of India a ride to the Mexican border town of Tiajuana and a general tour to view the beautiful colorful display of flowers which seemed to be everywhere Among the most outstanding were huge and the pink hibiscus hydrangea most beautiful pink white and red oleanders that border the freeways Clayton was a perfect guide He had served in the US Navy and had spent much time in the San Diego area also he lived near there while he was attending school so he knew how to reach all the most interesting places where to stay and of course the best restaurants They had a lovely vacation with no rain to spoil the days only a bit of fog in the early morning hours Marjorie returned to Fillmore July 30 Count ( Millard FILLMORE Angie Green Delell (Jack) Brunson and Fern Brunson attended the Peter L and Alta Brunson at family reunion Green Canyon Hot Springs Idaho on July Over 100 family members arrived in campers and trailers for the overnight event The reunion was planned and sponsored by Lewis and Betty Brunson of Rexburg Idaho Highlights of the event was a 250 lb roasted pig which everyone enjoyed Following the reunion Delell and her daughter Betty Conrad drove to Pocatello where they spent a few days visiting with Betty’s daughter Kathy and her family Delell returned home July 28 BonRuth Thornton’s daughter nie Scott Teeples and the couple's five children of Klamath Falls Oregon came to Fillmore June 23 when they received word that Ruth had become ill and was hospitalized Bonnie and the two children have stayed on youngest with Maxon so she could be near Ruth and help Maxon in the home Scott returned to Oregon July 30 with the three oldest children He is a teacher and must prepare for the upcoming school opening Scott is Lucille Ricker’s grandson so they had a really nice visit while he was here Ruth has had two more strokes since her surgery and has never completely regained consciousness She has been moved from Frovo to the Fillmore hospital where she will receive special care No visitors are allowed I would like to retract a statement that Merle Hone had spent a few weeks in Provo receiving medical treatments Sorry Merle On Tuesday July 30 George and Myrtle Rowley and Paul and Dorothy Beckham drove to Delta where they had been invited to join the Senior Citizens at the Center there at 5 pm for dinner after which they went to the Delta Care Center where they the entertained patients for an hour with their renditions of the wonderful songs of yesteryear While they were at the Care Center Myrtle visited with Leah who is a cousin of Myrtle’s of father the late Joseph Hunter Holden On Tuesday July 30 Alta and Maxine Rowley drove to American Fork where Alta visited with her son Lafe and his family and Maxine spent time with Dr Hunsaker having her eyes examined and treated On July 24 Boyd Hunter and his Utah of Kaysville wife Coleen stopped in Fillmore for an afternoon surprise visit with Boyd’s aunt and uncle Myrtle and George Rowley They were on
