done among family members Many of who were camped in the canyon Saturday morning Lem and June Lovell with the help of many other cooks prepared and served a tasty canyon breakfast to family members Saturday afternoon 210 descendants of William and Caddie enjoyed a pot luck dinner at the old Oak City Hall after which a program was held cluding talents from each family Prizes were given for many fun categories Lollowing the program various sports were participated in at the park To end a perfect day a good old fashioned Oak City dance with the Oak City Orchestra playing was held in the old hall It was a grand evening and reunion Everyone is looking forward to and planning the next ovell reunion to be held in Oak City Members from the following families represented at the reunion were and Iricnds Margaret Slock from Roy Utah visited Arlene at her parents home Barbara Black and daughters Barbie also spent 2 days with them Marion Ray Anderson and David Beguins families spent 2 days camping HINCKLEY Sharon Western Ph: On Sunday June 16 1812 people of the Delta Utah and Delta Utah west to Manti to attend the 9 am session of the dedication of the Manti Temple One of our native sons Rex Reeve as well as other General spoke Authorities The Hinckley first ward were hostesses to the second ward Tuesday evening at a fashion show featuring clothing available at the Deseret Industries store in Delta Karolyn Warnick was MC and the clothes were modeled by members of both wards A large group of ladies tended The fashions were sold to those wishing to buy except for the ones purchased for the costume department of the West Millard Cultural Council Light refreshments were served afterward rounding out a lovely evening Carolann Christensen of the first ward primary was in charge of a hobo The party held at the town park children came from all over town (at least the west side) with their lunches tied in a over their shoulder It looked like they were having a good time D A and Inez Prichard of Canyon Texas visited here with his brother and wife Clifford and Anne Prichard They spent one day seeing the historic sights of Salt lake before leaving for home Merriannc Ekms and Christi Ivie have returned home from a year’s Before coming schooling at Logan home they went with their roommates to Seaside Oregon to spend a week at the beach After spending a long cold winter hitting the books it was a welcome change for the girls both of whom strive for excellence in their grades Fannie Lee Hilton has been released from the hospital after having surgery Her sister Sebrina Ekins has spent time with her and she is getting along well We wish her continued progress Walter and Roma Fkins kept appointments in Provo on Friday Mrs Geo Ekins Mrs David Ekins and family attended a Cropper Reunion held at Orem and American Fork They Canyon Friday and Saturday stayed with Mrs Frank Wilde Mr Lawrence Cropper of Oasis and Ekins went up with the stayed with the Wildes also Dr I amon Robins of Orem was the president this year The reunion will be held in 2 years at Hinckley with the Hon and Erma Cropper family in charge with Mary Ellen Evans of Lehi as the president 81 relatives in attendance were of the Leigh R and ula Cropper families 22 Pratts came from Kenneck Washington including Wm B Pratt who just celebrated his 90th birthday on June 13 Mr Pratt is a tormer resident of Hinckley Mrs Mahonri Cropper went to Orem Mon and Tues and again on Thurs to get some dental work done Thev stayed over the weekend to the Cropper reunion David Ekins made a film of the points of interest in Millard where the Cropper families County first came to Millard County in about 1859 The film covered over a 100 years of history which included the old Mud ort at Deseret which their grandfather R Cropper Sr helped to build in kins X65 Hon Cropper and Sebrina were featured in the film as narrators The film was shown at the reunion kins underwent Mrs Gene (Jane) major surgery at Utah Valley Hospital June 25 We wish in Provo on Tues and fishing Here from St George for the reunion and to visit mother Zella was the Lovells and the Merlene Merton Schmutz families Carol Ross and children spent several days helping at the Keith Ross home then for the weekend and Larry joined them and they all attended the Lovell reunion and visited parents for the Marion Andersons for Father’s from St George with her Arnold and Eeslie Talbot are in Draper for a few days A large group of people from Oak City attended the rededication of the Manti Temple June 16 It was a very special occasion The talks by general authorities were inspirational and the 100 voice choir from the 2 Delta stakes sang beautifully Iinda Larsen and Jay Einlinson are very inspired leaders her a speedy recovery and to return to her family soon Mrs Fannie Lee Hilton came to Hinckley Sunday to stay with her daughter She is Jim lone and recovering from major surgery in Utah Valley Hospital on June 7 Mrs Hilton has been living in Lindon near her daughter Lula and family since last fall She is slowly improving but is still quite ill Mrs Geo Ekins received a telephone call Wed from their grandson Michael Black who is living in Dallas Texas that they were the proud parents of twin girls born June 26 All are doing well Michael is the son and Mrs Keith Black of Orem he was graduated from BYU last Dec as a CPA and went to work for Peat Marwick and Mitchell Company in Jan of 1985 at Dallas his wife is Nancy Allen formerly of Orem Utah This makes 4 great grandchildren for the George Ekins Another season of events sponsored by the West Millard Cultural Council has drawn to a close with the final performance of "Fiddler on the Roof” Saturday night A new season is now starting and you may buy tickets from the years old and lives in her own home She is legally blind and her hearing isn’t good but she bakes bread every week and still crochets by feel She really enjoyed having all of her family together Dick in the Miss Deaf Utah that was held at Woodscross Pageant Utah There were seven girls in the competition All of the girls did a dance together The competition consisted of talent sports evening gown are sorry to hear that Ruth Thornton was taken to the Fillmore hsoptial last Fndav morning suffering from a stroke She seemed to be her suddenly doing Bne when worse became condition Sunday morning
