Responding to a suggestion of the State Library Staff the board has set a new loan period of one month instead of two weeks as has been the practice in the past with books on reserve still at one week loan It is hoped this will allow plenty of time for longer books The new t period begins April 15 1987 The second motion put into effect was the problem of fines for overdue books We have had qiiite a bit of trouble getting books in ont ime so others may use them The new policy is: a 5 cents a day fine will begin immediately the day after the due date on both one week loan and the new regular one month period For example: if a book is checked out on April 15 it will be stamped due on May 9 There will be an adjustment on the end of months (the 30 and 31) so due date will correspond with the end of the month We would appreciate full cooperation on these new policies The month of April has been declared free of fines to give everyone a fresh start Please bring in all your over due books whether you have received a telephone call or not to remind you We may not get everyone called The responsibility of getting books back should be the patrons More New Books New books are continually being placed on the shelves When nonfiction books on medicine health etc are put out it does not mean we are recommending the materials as prescriptions or diagnosis they are merely for your perusal You might ask your doctor about anything that you think applies to you The foregoing statement applies to the book we will new mention: “How to Stop the One You Love From Drinking” by Mary Ellen the Kanosh Fire Dept support the Fire District proposal to include Fillmore City and Kanosh City in the taxing structure to fund the Millard County Fire District After careful consideration the Fillmore and Kanosh Fire Depts are in favor of joining and participating with the rest of the Cities in Millard County in the newly created Fire District The method of taxing in the Fire District will generate more money for the Fire Depts and will cost less to the taxpayers in Fillmore and Kanosh It is interesting to note that this proposal will lower the cost of funding for Fire Protection Services because of the restructuring of the taxing format If you wish to have further information in regards to this proposal contact a member of the Fire Depts or contact Tony Dearden who is the
