Show A new fee legislation program adopted by Congress will mean an increase in services at national park service sites in Utah In recent years reductions in funding forced the National Park Service to cut back on interpretive programs and resource statewide management projects But starting this year a percentage of the entrance fees collected at various park service sites in Utah will be returned for use in funding programs that were dropped or left unfunded At Zion National Park “the $218000 we received this year will pay for such things as restoring camp sites expanding nightly ranger programs and initiating new research projects” says Superintendent Harry Grafe “This money is a tremendous shot in the arm for us and for all of southern Utah” The fee legislation program will also pay for expanded programs in Arches and Canyonlands Bryce Canyon Capijol Reef national parks Golden Spike National Historic Site and Cedar Breaks and Natural Bridges national monuments As part of the fee legislation program entrance fees at 5 national park service sites in Utah are going up for the first time in 15 years There will be entrance fees at three other park service sites for the Joan Wanberg was born in Brooklyn New York then grew up in her America Central Throughout childhood no matter where she lived she had a love for Collies She still does This love eventually led her to professionalism as a breeder of champions and as a kennel owner It all began eighteen years ago For many years Joan and her family lived in Riverton Utah Her husband a truck driver was away much of the time and she found that she of needed something to interest that would occupy her time Crest Vu Kennels was launched Kim Foltz grew up in North Dakota but has lived in several places Approximately four years ago she arrived in Utah with her young daughter bought a dog from Joan and one thing just seemed to lead to another At the time Kim bought her dog she and her daughter were looking for a place to live It just so happened that Joan had a basement apartment available Kim took it and the two women became friends “It’s the only time I’ve ever sold a puppy and kept the owner!” Joan remarks humorously Eventually Joan tired of “city living” and determined to move to the "wide open spaces” The 30 acres of land she found out at South Track here in Delta proved to be exactly what she wanted She bought the land and they Kim Angela Lynn and the “Here” she says “I have peace and contentment and I’m surrounded by friendly people I love Porter Porter honored it” The 5 Most Valuable Players for were honored Sat Feb 14 at SUSC The 5 were presented engraved plaques during halftime of the SUSC Grand Canyon College basketball Prior to the game at the Centrum game they were guests at a recognition dinner at President Sherrett’s home The football was Jim recipient Porter Last year he was honored as the baseball MVP Jim played center on this team which won 6 games and had 3 losses He coached for 15 years in Delta has a combined record of 244 wins and 12 losses Highlights of his coaching career include 125 consecutive dual meet wrestling victories and 6 state He and his wife championships Virginia Dearinger from Iowa have 9 children including 2 football MVPs and 3 All State Wrestlers After the move Kim worked at the Pub There she met Dale McTee a computer repairman for IPSC When her job ended she needed something to do Knowing of her interest in and ability to groom dogs Dale suggested that she start her own business He would back her financially The timing was right for the only other local groomer was moving Last October after obtaining her Millard County Business and sales tax licenses she (The opened Angelyn Groomery business is named for her daughter) The groomery which is owned by Kim and Dale was first located in Kim’s house When Joan decided that she wanted to expand and provide boarding facilities Angelyn was moved onto Joan’s property Thus the two businesses which are separate entities are now on the same location Dale McTee has been in Utah for about six years A native Texan he came to attend college at Weber State and he stayed “I hate cities” he says In Delta he appreciates the country life and the small town atmosphere “I like the personal attention given” Dale admits that he does little with the animals although he too is a dog lover Much of his time centers around his computer work and travels to different parts of the US for advanced computer schooling (The forthcoming trip will take him to Boston where he will remain and study for one month) He is “Kim manages the business” both emotionally and supportive financially however is open for Angelyn Groomery business Monday through Friday for local customers Due to distance Kim will make appointments for Saturday in order to accomodate customers from Nephi Oak City etc All breeds except Pit Bulls are groomed with tender loving care as well as professionalism For senior citizens Kim will pick up and deliver AND she gives a ten perWhen any customer cent discount refers a new client they receive a $1 dis- - for Big J Enterprises at one time worked for the only AKC licensed obedience club in the valley The cost starts at $100 and the sessions cover a six week period They recommend starting a dog at three to four months of age if it is strictly a pet or at
