Commencement Fserciscs Their son Jan Day was a membei of the giaduating class On the BUI Thursday they attended Showcase There they ill joyed seeing and being a pan of the classes Jan had attended during the past ear ThursJan and day evening Ken Annette Jan’s wife Tina enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Txcelsior Hotel celebrating Jan’s graduation Jail received a gold pocket watch fiom his parents which will not only be a treasuied gift but will be a reminder of his acand some day he can complishments proudly give it to his son upon graduation Early ridny morning Jan joined other giaduating students in a line to march to the Mcrriott Center W hat a spectacular sight! 4059 students capped and gowned marching in unison in a long long line President Ezra Taft Benson piesid-eover the graduation excicises and also gave the concluding remarks Alder Thomas Monson conducted and President Jeffery Holland commented that never before could he remembei two General Autlioi ities in attendance at a graduation The first session was over at II a m and at pm Jan matched again into the Matriott Center to receive his graduating diploma with 900 students of the College of family Home and Social Sciences Jail also graduated I'ronim College of amily Finance Planning and Councelmg graduating as one of the lop students in this area Needless to say Jan’s parents and his wife Tina are very proud of his accomplishments Jan and Tina came to illmoie to spend the weekend with Jail’s parents and enjoyed being able to relax for a couple of days Kenneth and Annette icceived a call from their son Jay Day who is attending BYU in Hawaii He called to congratulate Jail and to inform his patents that he has just been made the Fldeis Quorum president in his ward He will be working this visitor at the home of Willard and Dathel Whitaker was a William George long lost relative Nadauld from Salt Lake City who was hunting Geneology having spent some time up at the Kanosh Cemetery Some ladies visiting the cemetery (Arvilla Martin and Utahna Bemis) suggested that Nadauld drop by the Whitakers and would probably get he was some of the information seeking William George Nadauld is the great the of Albert Nadauld grandson Albert Nadauld who used to run the post office and store in the area where Stan Johnson now has his anntique shop William George Nadauld is the son of Sterling Duane Nadauld the grandson of George Abert Nadauld and great grandson of Albert Nadauld William was very excited and happy Jaunita mother to find Dathel’s Charlesworth at the Whitakers so was able to glean lots of valuable information from this lady who remembers most of these older Nadaulds An interesting bit of Geneology that William was able to learn was that his Albert had four great grandfather children (George Albert Phillips Alice sanitary-landfi- ll and Jesse (Nadauld) Christensen stead of just the two (George Albert and Phillip) that he was aware of So it turned out to be a profitable day lor him Geneology wise and interesting to the Whitakers and Junaita to become acquainted with a relative they hadn’t met before William’s brother Steve Nadauld is President of Weber College On April 18 and 19 the ScoutsTrom Kanosh Troop 207 participated jn the District Spring Camporee held in the Adult foothills north of Holden leaders were Scoutmaster Phil Blad and assistants Kevin Kelser Lynn Perkins (who also had duties with the District Scout Committee) and Gen arid Lilly Whitaker There was training and competition in compass course trail signs first aid fire building knot tying and Our Scouts scored camp organization well in all events Points were also added to each Troop’s score for scout uniform inspection and main camp appearance These scores gave the Kanosh scouts first place at' the camp They won a $20 gift certificate and a hatchet Kanosh leaders were most pleased by the feeling of unity and cooperation that our boys exhibited They are good and know Randy days earlier Congratulations News from Vic and Lillian Rogers: On April 28 our son John came to help Vic with home repairs and yard work stayed overnight and the next day John and his 2 daughters Katrina age 13 and Kristilyn age 10 with grandpa climbed up on the roof of the old chicken coop to repair the leaks In the afternoon they prepared a garden space and planted vegetables seeds incorporated towns the Millard Counsecured the ty Commission necessary financing to construct a series of sites to accomodate large 40 cubic yard f site or contract with someone to provide this
