thanks as well to our Spelling Bee pronouncer Miss Rhonda and judges Dr Eleanor Dalton Mrs Barbara Nielson and Mr Scott Bassett We're already looking forward to next year's event Free shade trees for spring planting Although the volume of individual tax returns completed by paid preparers increases from year to year the taxpayer remains legally responsible for the accuracy of the return This is why the IRS advises taxpayers to exercise the same degree of consideration that one would in choosing a doctor lawyer or any professional person The IRS offers these tips on what to expect in dealing with a preparer: Taxpayers should not sign a blank return nor one which is partially completed nor one prepared in pencil Preparers should sign the return and give his or her indentification number as required by law Taxpayer must be given a copy of the completed return Preparers who promise a refund claim a special relationship with the IRS or boast of ways to beat the tax system should be avoided Preparers are required to keep copies of returns or a list of taxpayers' names and identification numbers for three years Paid preparers (other than bank cash or preparers) cannot endorse neeotiate a client’s refund check PTA Poster contest winners announced The PTA recently sponsored a drug and alcohol poster contest The theme for this year's contest was “Just Say No" Judging categories included First through Third grades and Fourth through Sixth grades The two winning posters from the Delta North Elementary belong to Angela Fowles and Cally Griffiths Their posters have advanced to state competition in Salt l ake City We are proud of the work of these two young ladies and wish them the very best of luck in state competition Delta North menu to change without notice) Monday Mar 17
