deeply touched by listening to the well trained voices of two of our local youth at our dinner Wednesday April 24 Rick Callister son of Scott and Barbara Callister and Jennifer Abbott daughter of Manley and Maxine Abbott thrilled us with their singing They were accompanied on the piano by DarNae Dutson daughter of Howard and Afton Dutson Our group is still talking about the enjoyment they received from these young people and were thrilled by the opera number so We do beautifully done by Jennifer appreciate having them give us a chance Their to hear this special program for parents are to be congratulated these fine musicians We are proud of those in our group who took time to make Easter bonnets for the Fillmore Easter Parade and party on April 16 Alisha Jackson won 3rd place in the “prettiest hat” category Karl Murray and Mike Mortensen were brave and paraded as a pair ot shy ladies Many couldn’t tell if tl t were or weren’t They received In men able mention Everyone who attended had a very good time If you didn’t listen to the Voice of the Valley on the Delta radio station Friday April 19 you missed a good program Mary Henrie along with Max and Elwin Johnson gave us a good sight into life in early Delta Many of us remember these trials which we now can laugh and enjoy talking about are hope the younger generation thankful for all the conveniences they enjoy today We aren’t complaining however we had lots of fun times and don’t even remember being bored We send happy birthday wishes to Fera Little and Wilford Sheriff who will each be honored during the week on their 80th birthdays It's so nice to have their families and friends give them special recognition at this time Mav 8 the Six On Wednesday County Commissioners Organization is sponsoring a dinner at Ludwig who received the Silver Beaver Award at a ceremony held at Brigham Young University Friday April 20 1985 This was a special treat being the first time we have been given two awards in one year and also coming on the anniversary of the of the Boy Scouts of founding America This award is given once per year by the Utah National Parks Council which is authorized by the National Council of Boy Scouts of America acting through the National Court of Honor to award the Silver Beaver Award to the within women and men outstanding council This award is given for exceptional service to youth by volunteer seouters in Cub Scouting Boy Scouting Varsity Scouting and Exploring The Silver Beaver Award comes with solicitation to those chosen The number of awards authorized is based upon the number of units in the local council This year our council is authorized to present awards Those selected are picked by a special committee appointed by the president of the council Tommy W Nielsen a Chemical Engineer of Delta Utah has served as Committee Chairman Scoutmaster ScoutAssistant Webelos Leader Scout Round master Commissioner table Staff and is presently registered He has 21 a Scouting Coordinator years tenure He has received the Scouter’s Training Award Second Miler Award and District Award of Merit He is Wood Badge trained Tom has been a Little League Coach of Little and Chairman League He is active in the LDS Baseball Church He has also served as Little has He referee Football League spent his vacation time with troop outings and has helped over 15 boys attain the Fagle rank He is an enthusiastic and dynamic Scouter Reid D Ludwig an Accounting Clerk of Delta Utah has 19 years tenure in the Scouting program He has District Scout served as Scoutmaster Committee Chairman Assistant Venture Leader District Scout Commissioner and is currently registered as District Chairman in Deseret District He has received the Scouter’s Training Award and Second Miler Award He has He is Wood Badge trained been a promoter of Wood Badge training and has served on the Timberhne Staff He was instrumental in organizing a Little Philmont in his area Reid has been active in the LDS He
