Show Alta Shumway and her sister Mildred Harding of Kanosh went to Sutherland Feb 26 to visit their aunt and uncle Lena and Doyle Steele year old Doyle is still recovering from surgery he received on Jan 4 His health is still under par and he is in need of further surgery Mildred Warner is in the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo undergoing treatment for an allergy Brad Marshall son of Eldon and Rachael Marshall of St George (Blooming Hills) came to Fillmore with the Pep Club He stayed with his grandmother overnight Alta Shumway News from Mesa Arizona reached us just this past week of the passing of Winfield Grant Enloe recent former resident of Fillmore and member of the Fillmore 4th Ward Grant as he was known to his friends here was born July 28 1912 in Mesa Arizona He died February 16 1985 in Mesa Because of a serious illness he was moved to Mesa where some of his family lived and he could be cared for better Melvin and Allen Roper and their families drove Grant and Cordelia to Mesa He was there only 16 days when he passed away Survivors are his wife Cordelia and three daughters Lenora McClellan of Mesa Shirley Van Leuven of Chandler Arizona and Nadene Hytonen of Redding California and a son Clifford Enloe of Texas three 18 grandchilbrothers five sisters dren and 22 Funeral services were held Februin the ary 20 1985 at 10 am Chandler Third Ward LDS Chapel in Chandler Arizona Interment was in Mesa City Cemetery Mesa Arizona Cohn and Alice Allred returned home Feb 25 after an extended six in weeks winter vacation Texas They left Fillmore Jan 8 and drove to St George where they visited Alice's brother and his wife David and Donna Johnson From there they went to Jefferson Is Beaumont Texas which a collection of small towns They visited with their son Gene and his wife Jill Allred and their Texas While family in Nederland they were there they all went to Dallas and enjoyed going through the Dallas Temple After spending a couple of weeks with Gene and Jill they went to Port Neches Texas where they spent two weeks with their son Clyde and his wife Laura Sue Allred and their FILLMORE Angie Green Larry and Tammy Shelton and their three Blain Dennis and boys Bradly of SLC came to Fillmore Feb 23 to spend the weekend with Tammy’s parents Don and Ella Vee Turner They brought with them some exciting and delightful news The Walt Disney studios have been promoting the film “Robin Hood” throughout the US and offered prizes to the stores having the best Robin Hood display Larry and Tammy won first place which was a trip to London They went all out decorating the store with life size Robin Hood characters which they cut out of hard board and painted and put them in a setting of Robin Hood’s time and place and of course there was Maid Marian The time and effort they put into turning the store into a Robin Hood fantasyland paid off and they are really thrilled with their prize Terry and NonaLee Turner and their two children of Logan also spent the weekend visiting Don and Ella Vee and Tammy and Larry Fred Melville of New Harmony and Mae Sayers of Enterprise came to Fillmore Feb 26 to attend the funeral of their uncle Floid Warner which was held Wed Feb 27 1985 While they were here they stayed at Doma the home of their sister Frampton Doma Frampton went to Las Vegas recently and spent two weeks with her son Thad and his wife Pauline Frampton Zina Petersen is recovering from a broken toe On the night of Feb 18 she was walking in the dark in her home and hit her foot on a stair breaking her toe She drove her car Feb 27 for the first time since the accident Glad to know it is healing nicely Gladys Jackson Warner wife of the late Floid Warner had the comfort of her family being with her during the sad occasion of Floid’s death and funeral The entire funeral program was given by members of the Warner which included family prayer talks given by Floid’s two sons remembrances and singing violin music There are 55 family members most of which attended These included children and their spouses and grandchildren sons Bishop Ramon Warner and wife and family of Clearfield Bishop Jack Warner and wife and and daughters family of Ogden Marian Dwrland and her husband and family of Logan and Lome Pound and her husband and family ofTacoma Washington Floid and have 25 Gladys and 11 grandchildren family On Feb 16 they drove to Mesa the Arizona where they attended of their granddaughter wedding Vicky French She is the daughter of Jerry and Connie Allred French The groom is Angel Lopez Connie is the daughter of Cohn and Alice Allred The newlyweds will make their home in Mesa Arlz Cohn and On their way home Alice visited with Cohn's sister and and Ray Montez her husband Harris In Laverkin Utah On Feb 22 Jim and June Smith drove to Salt Lake City where their and her husCharlene daughter met them and band Dick Miller drove them to the airport where they for bound an airplane boarded Texas Their son Gail and his wife Sue Smith met them at the airport and took them to their home in Lubbock Texas where they spent a perfectly lovely two weeks’ vacation June says they were on the go all the friends time visiting attending and church shopping sightseeing one of the highlights of their visit Jack and Linda Davies report that Linda’s mother Leona Jaynes of Twin Falls Idaho has entered the University of Utah Medical Center for tests to determine if she must undergo open heart surgery Jack's parents Murray and Berna Davies are caring for their three children while Linda is in Salt Lake City with her mother Laura Wilson reports her that husband Wilson who Raymond underwent open heart surgery at the Utah Valley Medical Center in Provo on Feb 18 is at home now and is doing fine They wish to thank
