Show 0 Page 4 - Millard County USPS Thurs 1984 Nov Community No more “In the Long Run” When was younger an older farmer’s wife said to me “I am tired for the ‘long tun’ am going to work for the ‘short run’ from now on” That woman was soon gone Her life was over I do not think she ever got much even in the short run was geared for the long run It was a lesson to me not to put off everything until later when it is more convenient and easier Later does not come later is now Everyday is a gift of time of opporof friends tunity of companionship of of study and accomplishment of waiting reaching Time is what life is made of and it races My husband said “Some day am going to take you was on my down south where mission” Sometime got farther and farther and talked about less and less until it vanished into never put away books and magazines to read later when there was more time or if broke my leg I did break my leg but never did find that old reading material that was saved for such a time Now carry the old magazines out to deteriorate in the garage so can New books and burn them later magazines come faster than I can read them So if you intend to go to Hawaii go If you are going to take the family to Lake Powell and rent a houseboat do it call this afternoon for the reservation If you are going to have the neighbors in for a family hour call them today If there is a friend you want to visit go she may be gone Pick the rose while it is in tomorrow bloom and take it to anyone If you are putting money in the bank for something in the “long run” reconsider At the rate of inflation the long run is running away faster than you are getting close to it You may have waited too long now When we get our education And a place to call our own When the house is finally paid for And the fields are plowed and sown When the childrens needs are filled All the payments on the land When the work is all completed Then we wil do the things we planned Do not believe it Life is not to live tomorrow Life is real this hour today time you cannot beg nor borrow Do it now it slips away babies Come and join our western swing dance class!
