Shelsteads Achieve 50 Golden Years By Stella Day Franklin Cooper was born March 26 1869 the son of John and Mary Ann Lewis Cooper He was bom in the extreme southeast section of Fillmore a section very near the site of the cemetery He fell in love and married Mary Jane Kelly daughter of Mary Jane Melville and John Kelly Mary Jane was from a home of a large family who lived in a well kept home surrounded by beautiful shrubs and flowers Mary Jane was bom Nov 6 1898 Neither of the families were endowed with large amounts of this world’s goods but each came from hard working people who built well and kept them in built homes excellent condition They were all excellent homemakers who were thrify hard working citizens Frank and Mary Jane followed the examples of these thrifty families Frank earned a living by freighting that is he and others would make the trip across the Pahvant Valley to a railroad station where they brought back supplies such as dry goods furniture and all sorts merchandise of supplies needed by the pioneers and sold in the local stores by the Frank was very local merchants careful with his loads of freight and very honest He was honest with his freight and if anything was broken or injured in bringing the freight over such rough roads Frank was always willing to make it right with the he was very merchant although He also careful with his loads coal and one night in freighted freezing cold weather they had to They hunted camp in a snowstorm to keep the around for sagebrush fires burning as they had no way to weigh the coal so would not use it He
