Noel Robins, Chairman, conducted. conduct-ed. He announced that the special topic for consideration was the feasibility of getting an Intermediate Intermed-iate Care facility for the county. Mr. Erickson and Mr. Jenkins of the Utah Department of Health were on hand to inform and advise on setting up such a facility. Both stated that requirements for hous- ing and operation were very strict, The architect suggested that it cal to build a new structure than to remodel an older building so 't would qualify for such use. There seems little doubt of the need of a place where older people could live comfortably and have some care for minor ilnesses, but when it was stated that a facillity for ten people would cost approximately approxi-mately $150,000.00, one questioned if it was feasible. Dell Ashby, Administrator of the West Millard Hospital, gave some information concerning their extended ex-tended care facilities. He said there were eight on the waiting list now, and that many inquiries came from various parts of Utah. It was generally agreed that a facility in Fillmore would boost the economy. Fillmore City Councilman Council-man Joe Warner and County Commissioner Com-missioner Archie Christensen stated that they would take it up with their respective bodies and determine deter-mine what help could be given. Scott Speakman, in charge of Family Services in the county, told that there is definitely a need for care of people who are not able to look af ter themselves in their own nomes. wmie no conclusions were ar- . .... , rlvea tnere was a suonS ieeung that tv,a mo chM.M Vvo nnrciiorl ",v- r Also taken into consideration is the amount of land used commer cially and industrially. Mr. Jarvis explained that the need for a "growth center" was developed through trying to solve two related problems. "Delta like Richfield is geograph- ically and economically so related to the Six-County District as a whole that its economic growth may reasonably be expected to contribute significantly to the al- heviation of distress in the redevel- opment areas of the district," Mr. Wives of Utah's Congressmen will also be guests of Utah Cowbelles at a special ladies' luncheon at which Mrs. Clifford M.
