Very brief interludes of cloud iness with a few drops of rain and, just a bit more once or twice, have given little respite from the high temperatures we experience each day. The Primary's I.illoma Holiday was held July 27. Luncheon was served and games played. Theme was "Salute to Mom." There were -10 mothers and daughters. Primary Pies., Sharleen Wright was in charge. Helping were Valyn Dut-soit Dut-soit and Golda Talbot. In Sunday evening meeting, Primary Lifloma girls graduating were Linda Galli, Patti Palmer, Duttie Damron, April Theobald, and Kay Stevens. They received their certificates of graduation grad-uation from Primary Pres., Sharleen Shar-leen Wright. Each girl gave a brief talk about the things she had accomplished ac-complished and completed in her Primary class to be eligible to graduate. The Trail Builder Roundup of the Hinckley Primary was held Friday evening in the big gym, with Colleen Col-leen Dutson, Primary representative, representa-tive, conducting. Blazers and Top Pilots were promoted and changed brands. During the program and Outer Circle Ride, the year's work was explained and demonstrated with pictures and charts, during which the boys and teachers participated. par-ticipated. A chuck wagon dinner was served to Trail Builders and their paernts. Mrs. Claude Parkinson, Parkin-son, Stake Trail Builder representative, representa-tive, also attended. Desert plants, cowboy hats and fry pans were used as decorations. The MIA Maid Honor Night was held Sunday, July 31 in the Hinckley Hinck-ley Wnird Relief Society room for the MIA Maids. Their leader is Mrs. Pelva Morris. MIA Maids .attending and honored were: Patrice Bishop, Judith Galli, Verleen Carpenter, Ruth Anna Morris, Edith Ann War-nick, War-nick, Sarilynn Hardy, Jody Petersen, Peter-sen, Gwen Harris and Vicki Bishop. Marcia Pratt, a former MIA of the Hinckley Ward, also was present. The girls sang some songs. Each girl participated with a talk. Gwen Hanris gave the welcome. Each girl, before placing her individual rose into the circle, gave the meaning mean-ing of the particular rose she had chosen and her sentiments of it. Their teacher then tied the box, tying all the roses together. The tied-rose bouquet was accepted by YWMIA counselor, Mrs. Sharon Western, in the absence of the YW MIA Pres., Mrs. Reva Talbot. Refreshments Re-freshments were served at the conclusion con-clusion of the program. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hardy, Deon Talbot and Hollie Manis are vacationing vaca-tioning in Yellowstone Park. Mrs. Beryl Hardy attended a school for lunch room workers, the Utah School Food Ass'n Conference at Cedar City, from Tuesday until Friday. John returned home and Suzanne (Judd) remained remain-ed for a longer visit. Rosanne Rawlinson of Salt I-ake stayed with Sherlene Judd for a few days. CSU announces that Mrs. Enid Edwards Damron (wife of Carl Damron) Hinckley is listed on their summer honor roll. (The report to the Chronicle from CSU had her listed as D. Enid Edwards, Delta). Very fine work, Enid. Mr .and Mrs. Jim Christensen and family and Mrs. Fannie Lee Hilton spent .several days fishing at Koo-sharem Koo-sharem Reservoir. They report good luck and a relaxing trip. Friday, Mrs. Patsy McCormick of St. George came up to Hinckley and met her mother, Mrs. Angie Pratt to go on to Salt Lake with several others, Marcia Pratt, Mrs. Sebrina Ekins and Mrs. Kathryn Black. They picked up Sebrina's daughter, Margaret, also. Claire Spencer has been home from her work in Provo, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Spencer and family. Here from Calif, this week have been Mr. and Mrs. Raymond (Max-ine (Max-ine Bliss) Finlinson and family. They were at Maxine's mother's, Mrs. Alice Bliss. Also, visiting with Alice this week has been another daughter, Mrs. Calvin (Evelyn) Skeems and family. Jim and Golda Talbot and Carol Bishop visited at Mr. and Mrs. Jay Riding's in Grantsville last week. While up that way they visited friends and relatives in Tooele and Magna. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bishop and family drove down to Milford to visit their daughter, Gwen Rogers and family, Saturday afternoon. Eugene Morris attended a week's schooling on Visual Aids at the College of Southern Utah. Then Betty Jane, Ruthanna, Lee, and Eugene attended the Shakespearian Shakespear-ian Play later in the week. Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Western and family left Tuesday morning for a two-week's trip into Canada and other points of interest. Mr. and Mrs. Randle Swensen and Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Swensen attended at-tended a family reunion in Salt Lake over the weekend. Mrs. Suzanne Ashurst and son and Sherlene Judd accompanied E-laine E-laine and Sharilyn Hardy to Fillmore, Fill-more, Friday. Suzanne visited with Mr. ami Mrs. Ashurst and Mr. and Mrs. Jeddie Judd and family. Mrs. Sebrina Ekins left Saturday to go to Boulder, Colo, to attend a 4-week's schooling at the U. of Colo. She was chosen as one of 20 from Utah to attend. Barbara and Jimmy Dutson are visiting in Price this week with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Draper and Jeannie. Jeannie Draper returned to her home in Price after having spent several days with her sister, Mrs. Valyn Dutson and family. While here, Jeannie was hostess to a group of friends from Delta and Hinckley at a slumber party. The YOUR I t t t girls enjoyed a pot-luck supper of chili and trimmings and went for a swim. Julia Carpenter and family and Mardean Keller went to Sigurd this week to a Keller family reunion. re-union. An open house was held recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Petersen for Mr. and Mrs. LeeRay Talbot. Mrs. Enid Damron was home for the weekend from Cedar City. Carl Dutson and Zane Crafts came home from their work over the weekend. Ross and Neva Robinson of Elko, Nevada were in Hinckley this past week. They visited with Ross's mother, mo-ther, Mrs. Sebrina Robinson and other relatives and friends here and in Delta. Grant Hardy and Ixwell Petersen Peter-sen attended the horse races in Richfield, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Parry Keller (son ot the Allen Kellers) were here to see his folks. Mrs. Val Ma.son and small son are at the Ward Petersen's. They are from Seattle. Everywhere in town Monday, could be seen evidence that a lot of boys and girls were getting all ready to go to the 4-H camp early Tuesday morning, in Oak City Can yon. Those taking group of 4-H'ers were Mrs. Betty Jane Morris, Mrs. Valyn Dutson, Mrs. Carolyn War-nick, War-nick, Mrs. Alta Warnick, Mrs. Na Rae Peterson and Goldyn Cluff. Mrs. Vi Robinson has her daughter daugh-ter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Gunn, and family here to see her from Concord, Calif. They arrived last Saturday and will be returning home this Saturday. The Scout Court of Honor will be held at the Fireplace at the reservoir reser-voir Aug. 5 at 8:00 p.m. Recent visitors at the Waldo Warnick home were Mr. and Mrs. Marion Warnick and family from Boise, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Webb and girls, Julie and Geniel, recently spent several days in Yellowstone Park. They also visited their daugh ter, Kathryn and husband and two children in Salt Lake. Peggy Linda Johnson returned home last week after having spent several days with her grandmother, Mrs. Adell Peterson. Her parents, Bill and Ruth Johnson came down to get her. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hilton and family returned to their home in Las Vegas after having spent sev eral days with Cheryl's sister, Mas. Beth Brawn and family. Also, other relatives and friends. Susan Reeve and her fiance have been recent Hinckley visitors. Primary has been discontinued in Hinckley until fall. Reports are that Mrs. Etta Bishop Bish-op is stiil confined with the illness that has kept her bedridden for several weeks. Her condition has been such that she has been unable un-able to have visitors. The wedding reception for Paula Galli and Craig Hardy will be held Saturday evening, Aug. 6 in the ward Relief Society room. Paula is (he daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Galli. Craig is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hardy of Delta. Everyone Every-one is invited to attend. Grant . Hardy went to. Fillmore Tuesday morning. The Randle and L, R. Swensen's spent the afternoon and evening in Oak City Canyon one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Skeem and family were in Hinckley this week Mr. and Mrs. Verdell Bishop and family left Tuesday morning for Menan, Idaho, where 'they are to visit the Noiris Fullmer family and attend the marriage of their son Ray, and Beverly Fullmer that will be solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple Wdnesday. Following the marriage, a reception will be held in the Menan Cultural Hall. The Bishop's plan to return Thursday after visiting relatives in the area. An openhouse is planned for Aug. 8 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Verdell Ver-dell Bishop for their son, Ray and his bride. They invite all friends and relatives to call between the hours of 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. Sherlene Judd is visiting in Logan. Lo-gan. Miss Cindy Connelly of Grantsville Grants-ville has been visiting the Wayne Petersen family and Bryan. Meron Peterson has been home for a few days this week. Dean Draper is staying with his sister, Mrs. Valyn Dutson. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Petersen and family, and Mr. and Mrs. DeLyle Bennett and children returned from a visit of a few days in Las Vegas with Mr. and Mrs. Ace Henrickson (Karen Petersen). DeLyle and Annette An-nette and family returned to their home in Idaho, Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Gaylen Cropper and family took Mario Carroll back to Orem, Sunday. Mrs. Erma Cropper attended funeral fun-eral services last Wednesday, for a cousin, Paul Ekins of Provo. Her mother. Mis. I.ydia Ekins, accompanied accomp-anied her. Hinckley Rook Ciub held a party Friday night at the Hinckley Fireplace. Fire-place. Committee members were: Clara Stewart, Dorothy Damron, Erma Er-ma Cropper and Vi Robinson. A delicious de-licious chicken supper was served. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Cluff Talbot, Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Warnick, Mr. and Mrs. Hon Cropper, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Damron, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ekins, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Mecham, Mr. and Mrs. Randle Swensen, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Petersen, Mr. and Mrs. U R. Swensen and Mr. and Mrs. Dana Pratt. Visiting at the Lyle Stanworth's on Monday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Ward Stanworth of Magna. Ward is a brotherof Kyle's. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Dastrup are proud parents of their 14th child, fa baby girl! This makes 6 boys and 8 girls for them. Congratulations 14 limes. This is a wonderful family. fam-ily. Mrs. Dastrup is the former Marylene Reeve of Hinckley. E-lated E-lated grandparents in Hinckley are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Reeve. Everyone Every-one who knows Marylene and her family know what a lovely family she has. They can be exceedingly proud of their fine children. OAK CITY MACEL ANDERSON Mrs. John (Ramon) White and 4 children and Miss Edith Stewart of Tooele visited with their sister, Verenell Dutson and family. Ramon Ra-mon and children stayed a week and Edith is staying longer. They spent a day at Meadow visiting friends and relatives, a day in the canyon and went to the sandhills for an outing before returning to their home. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson spent a few days visiting at Kanosh with Don Anderson, Jr. and family. Don and Ixirraine and family were in Oak City Saturday especially to attend the Finlinson reunion. Mr. nd Mrs. Bruce Uvell and family have gone to Calif, to spend their vacation and to visit with Venice's family at Santa Barbara. Mrs. Mae Shipley had her grandson grand-son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. George Talbot and two children visit her Saturday. They were on their way fr om Calif, and St. George to Denver, Den-ver, where he has employment. Other members of the Shipley fam ily who were here for the Finlinson Finlin-son reunion called on Mrs. Shipley during the day. Molly and Mario Anderson and sons and Thurlo Jacobson and Ber tha spent the weekend visiting at Brigham City where they joined other members of. the Jacobson family at the home of a daughter and son, Bonnie and Phil. From there the group went on to Bear Lake, Idaho, where they spent the d ay. They returned Sunday afternoon, after-noon, badly sunburned and tired. The Finlinson family reunion was held in Oak City, Saturday. The George E. Finlinson family was in charge and had a lovely program, dinner and sports. 325 members at tended. The sisters, Amy, Angle, M artha, Lucy and Melva all had dresses alike and served as host esses. Esdras, Edward, Lenox and Marvin were the hosts. A dance was held in the evening with the public invited. All told it was a very lovely day with everyone en joying the occasion. It was nice having Evan and Lucy Christensen home from their mission to England. A number of people from here at tended the mission report of Evan and Lucy Christensen at the Delta Third Ward, Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Shipley, Mae H. Shipley, Ava Anderson, Esdras Fin linson, Angie Lyman, Amy Faust, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Finlinson and family. I didn't hear any others. A large crowd attended Sacrament Sacra-ment Meeting, Sunday. Fred Finlinson, Fin-linson, Jr. and Paul Craoroft of the University of Utah were speakers. The beautification committee is trying to get the town cleaned up before the barbecue, which will be held Aug. 13. They are asking the cooperation of everyone in getting their own places and streets cleaned clean-ed up before that date. Then we hope to have a good crowd here to help eat all that lucious beef and trimmings and enjoy the day with us. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Anderson spent the afternoon, Sunday, visiting in Delta with Mrs. Eliza Rawlinson and Mrs. Ila Forster and Wm. Jac obson at Doseret. Bishop and Mrs. Richard Finlin son and family of Mesa, Arizona are visiting relatives and friends and especially Dick's father, Leo Finlinson for- an extended time. They have been at Spanish Fork with Lavon's folks for some time. They will return to their home before be-fore school starts. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Arnold and daughter, Susan of Grander, spent Here from Salt Lake this week were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Robinson Robin-son and two children. They visited the Wesley Monriss family and other oth-er friends and relatives. David Corey has been home for a few days. Mrs. Margaret Roper accompanied accompan-ied Betty Jane, Eugene Morris and Ruthanna to Salt Lake Tuesday. Mrs. Elaine Hardy attended a Li Koma Holiday graduation in Fillmore, Fill-more, Wednesday evening and participated par-ticipated on the program. Mrs. Erma Cropper was hostess at a party at her mother's home, Thursday evening. The Waldo Warnick family recently re-cently attended the Warnick family fam-ily reunion at Pleasant Grove. Mrs. Cherie Morris drove to Lehi, Monday, on business. Mrs. Lonnie Morris accompanied her. The PeeWee Ball League in Hinckley Hin-ckley played a ball game with their dads Monday and who won the game? The boys did. Afterwards the group enjoyed a melon bust. Private E-2 Garn Bishop, son of Mrs. Gertha Bishop, who has been j home on leave from the Army, left Wednesday by train to go to Hill j Air Force Base. He will leave by( plane from Ogden to Ft. Ionard Wood, Mo. He has recently been j advanced from a Pvt. E-l to E-2. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Swensen.were at the Randle Swensen home this week. They are from Salt Lake.' They attended the wedding recep-j tion for Colleen Gillen and husband hus-band in Oasis. Friday evening. Mr .and Mrs. John Houston and children, David, Danny and Joy of Orem, spent the weekend visiting with Dean and Aneta. Mrs. Houston Hous-ton is Aneta's aunt. They all returned re-turned to Orem Sunday, except David, who will stay another week. Mr. and Mrs. Monan Lovell and boys of Uinta, Utah, Arlene Anderson Ander-son of Ogden and Natalie Call of Plain City, Utah visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson, Ander-son, and Monan and Shirley and children visited Mr. and Mrs. Owen Ow-en Lovell. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Nielson are back home after a visit to the Eastern Seaboard with their children, child-ren, Ardyce and family of Florida and Eric and family in Arkansas. Ciyde Pratt was home for the Finlinson reunion from Ogden. He attends school there. Mrs. Blaine (Ina) Lyman and children of lone, Calif, visited in Oak City over the weekend. From Cedar City were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Roper and family, Marjorie, Suzzanne, 'and Allen, and Jack Seiverwright. Jack visited at the home of Mrs. Helen Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anderson left last Friday for a trip into the scenic scen-ic part of the state, at Mirror Lake. They also visited at Ogden, Coalville Coal-ville and Salt Lake with friends and relatives. They at last found a cool place at Mirror Lake and had a lovely time. They returned Sunday Sun-day afternoon. The storm Sunday afternoon was surely welcome and badly needed. We had .20 of an inch, which helped help-ed to moisten up the lawns and the crops. Mr. and Mrs. Orin Finlinson and family of Payson and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Finlinson spent the weekend with relatives and friends. Mrs. Margaret Roper had some of her grandchildren visiting during dur-ing the week from Hinckley. The Milton B. and Myrtle F. Lovell Lov-ell Family reunion was held at Oak City Canyon, July 30. A large crowd attended and enjoyed the lunch, program and visiting. There are 84 descendants now. Mr. and Mrs. Don E. (Afton) Pettegreen of Salt Lake was in charge this year. Mr. and Mrs. Winston Nielson & 3 little daughters were weekend visitors in Oak City with families, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Nielson and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lovell. They especially es-pecially came to attend the Lovell Reunion. Richard, Rosalie, Eddie and Margie Lovell went back to Salt Lake with them for a week'j vacation and a visit with their sisters, sis-ters, Mary Jean Nielson and Bonnie Bon-nie Rae Powell. Ray and Rosemary will go up Saturday and bring the children home. She had been suffering for quite some time Kambal was a former resident of this and the Delta area and was well known and liked by all his many friends and neighbors. The Fashion Fantasy Holiday was held by tho Primary girls on Monday night at the Cultural Hall. Prelude music was by Nella Jackson, Jack-son, Primary organist. Singing was conducted by Dora Rose, Chorister. Greetings were given by Ferrilyn Edwards, LiHoma Partner. Each girl gave a talk: Suzanne Peterson, I Susan Christensen, Melanie Peterson, Peter-son, Patty Schena, Elizabeth Fow les. Two girls were unable to attend, at-tend, Shauna Johnson, who was on vacation with her folks, and Shau-! na Fullmer, who was unable to come. They had many useful arti-! 1 cles which they had made on dis-! ! play. After the program the girls i presented a fashion show and serv-J ed refreshments. The advancement ceremony was given by Pres. Norma Nor-ma Jensen and the introduction for the fashion show was given by Karen Fowles, counselor. All the mothers of these girls, some of the grandmothers and one Stake visitor, vis-itor, Mrs. Grant Church, were present. pres-ent. All of the girls mentioned a-bov a-bov were advanced into MIA. Mr. and Mrs. Ike Sorenson were here to spend a little time with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Dar-rell Dar-rell Christensen and family and also, al-so, to attended the funeral of Pat Barney. Susan Hales (I can't recall her married name) was here to spend some time with her folks, the Sam Hales'. Gary Croft and Neal Abbott left by train for Las Vegas. Gary has spent part of the summer with his grandparents, the Nate Abbotts and Mrs. Evva Croft.
