Mrs. Black handed me a news item a w e e k ago and 1 guess it go, lost in the shuffle, but here it is: Mr. and Mrs. Keith Black entertained Thursday evening, Jan. 21 at their home for the Young Marrieds Class of Delta Firsl Ward. A lovely dinner was served to 26 guests. The rests of the evening was spent watching movie films of the Black's trip back Eas. last summer. sum-mer. Mr. Archie Seczrle oi Bountiful spent two days last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dell Searle. They spent one day in Richfield on business. There will be a S ake Young Mar rieds party at the Stake House Feb. 5th. There wLl be square dancing. Each ward will be asked to furnish towards the lunch. Over night gues s at the Fay Wal ker home last Thursday were Mrs. Merrill Gubler and daughter Nau-rene Nau-rene of St. George. They were en-toute en-toute to Salt Lake to meet Mr. Mer rill Gubler who was being released from the LDS Hospital following surgery. Mrs. Rex Sperry spent last Monday Mon-day night and Tuesday morning in Caliente, Nevada visiting friends. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Stevens and baby boy of Bountiful and Mrs. Grant S.evens of Holden spent Friday Fri-day afternoon visiting with their grandmother and mother, Mrs. Blanch Work's and other members of the Works family. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Huff were in Salt Lake Friday where they met and spent the day visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Huff of Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Seth Jackson, Jessie and I spent Saturday afternoon in Holden visiting with Grandma Jack son and Mr. and Mrs. Wells Ken-ney Ken-ney and Glenda and with Mrs. Ron aid Webb.. , Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jeffery were In Delta for three days last week It was the end of the semester at BYU. Dr. and Mrs. Ileff Jeffery spent Sunday in Delta with Mrs. Adaline Jeffery. Carol Ann Jeffery was home for a few days last week with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Jeffery. Wallace and Mary and Carol Ann left Fridav and went to Woods Cross and spent the night with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jeffery and family. Saturday they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Newbold and family They attended a wedding in Provo for one of Carol Ann's friends. They came to Nephi and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Willard Ma. thews and then to Ho.den to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Mark Johnson and home on Sunday. Lexiane Merrill and Ray Hutchinson Hutch-inson of Heber City were visitors at the Merrell home on Saturday. When they returned to the BYU, I Clifford Merrell went with them. He will enroll at the BYU for ihe spring semester. I want to thank Mrs. Lucil'e Johnson for her letter in the Chron icle las- week. I appreciate people who have the ability and knowledge know-ledge to express themselves so well. I'm sure many of us feel the same as she does about the matter involved. Thanks again Mr. and Mrs. Don Sear'e and daughters Denice and Sandra and Mr. John Zabriskie of Provo visited in Delta with Mrs. Carrie Black and other members of the Clark family and with Mr. and Mrs. Del- bert Searle. Miss Deon Searle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Cearle of Pro vo and Mr. Wayne Briggs of Los Angeles, Calif, visited in Del.a with Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Seane. They will be married next week in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They will leave and go to Los Angeles wheie Mr. Briggs is teaching school. Mrs. Vern Stewart of Las Vegas speni last week visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Med Hawley and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hawjey. Larry and Velma Kay Odean spent the weekend with Mr. Velmer Odean. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Barber were here from school also others that I saw were Craig Hardy (that wat-ersoaked wat-ersoaked kid from the U.), Fred Works from the Auto Mechanic School at Cedar City and Dwaine Jackson from CSU. A week ago today Mont, Jessie and I went to Salt Lake. It was real nice going up but started to snow when we left Salt Lake about 5 o'clock and was anything but pleasant coming home altho we got here about 8:30. It was a real snow s.orm from Stockton to the cut-off road to Nephi. I was glad to get home. Mrs. Norma Wright is recovering trom surgery ol two weeks ago that she had in the Holy Cross Hos pi.al. Shipley MISS KAY ODEAN Engagement Is Announced Fine Arts Club One of the club's outstanding programs of the year will be presented pre-sented Feb. 11th at 4 o'clock p.m. at the Delta Elementary. Selections from Camelot will b-; presented by Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Beckstrand, Dr. Joseph Halgren and Mrs. Roene Di Fiare. This will pro bably be our last opportunity to see some of these people, as they are leaving the area. Dr. and Mrs. Beckstrand are going to the University Uni-versity of Michigan in February and Mr. and Mrs. Halgren are leaving leav-ing Richfield also. Their talents will be missed in this area. Mrs. De Fiore is known to many people in this area through her association as-sociation with the Farm Bureau. She has lived in St. George, Cedar City, Payson, Nephi, Fillmore and Sevier County. This year Richfiei 1 is honoring her at their centennial celebration. Instrumental in providing provid-ing southern Utah with some of their brighter musical moments, Mrs. De Fiore gained national fame in 1951. As a member of an American Ameri-can Legion quartette, she competed in the national finals in Miami, Fla. She has produced, direcied and tions since that time. We hope to see a large crowd attend this program and extend a special invitation for the husbands to come with their wives. There will be no extra charge for non members. Announcement is being made this week of the engagement of Miss Kay Odean to Mr. Merrill Maxfield. Parents of the engaged pack and Mrs. Leonard Vodak were in Provo to attend a farewell testimonial testi-monial for Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Tuttle and five children who are leaving for a three-year work mission mis-sion to New Zealand. Mr. Tuttle who is a carpenter will work on a Annex that is being built on the New Zealand Temple. Mrs. Tuttle is a niece of Mrs. Clara Killpack. Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Sperry and family spent the weekend in Salt Lake City on business. Mrs. Bill Lisonbee and son Roger of Torrence, Calif, were here last Harold Cropper's at 328 East Wednesday. Tha evening was spent playing games and eating goodies. Mrs. Clara Hawlsey of Delta visited vi-sited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan LaRue Sunday. Mrs. Dina Hawlsey Ful.mer and son John and Mildred Hawlsey of Delta visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield Sunday. We went to Nephi Saturday to see the doctor. Seems like everyone every-one those that day to be there. We had to wait three hours, but we had the privilege of visiting witn people from Provo, Fillmore, Fayette Fay-ette and all the towns in between. The program in Sacrament meeting meet-ing was on the "Law of the Fast." It was a church wide program-Talks program-Talks were given by Micky Jones, Wendell Nielson, Lorraine and Ben Stephensen and Bishop Phil Nielson. Niel-son. Organ solo by Linda Backlund. Back-lund. It was a very good program and made one realize what an important im-portant Commandment Fasting is. Valerie Tolbert celebrated her 15th birthday Monday. I wonder what it would be like to be 15 a-gain. a-gain. Dell George has been quite ill th past two weeks. Hope he soon gets better. 7.508 Read It In The CHRONICLE Many members and visi ors were at the Sacrament services Sundav night to hear Elder Crandall Nielson Niel-son give a very interesting report of his 2-ypnr California mission. A-mong A-mong the out of town visitors present pre-sent were Randall's relatives: Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Sorensen, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Nieison, Mr. and Mrs. Leoyd Lovell and others. Crandall's repo-t was very good and interesting. The Lilloma g:xls took a short lime with a part for the Penny Hospital Parade. The Primary was reorganized. Those released were Mrs. Lorna Lovell, Pres., Mrs. Joyce Finlinson and Mrs. Berniece Alldredge, Counselors, Coun-selors, Clarice Nielson, Sec., and Mrs. Barbara Anderson, teacher. Mrs. Chcrie Finlinson was sus-tf.ined sus-tf.ined as President of the Primary. She chose Mrs. Margene Anderson and Mrs. Dorothy Finlinson ns counselors and Mrs. Theo Stuart as secretary. Joyce Finlinson was sus tained as a Primary teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Blanch Crafts took Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Nielson to Roy to visit their daughter Thel- ma Howes and family. Saturday, they visited with another daughter Dorothy Giles and family at Mor gan. Their son-in-law Burke has re cently had a serious heart surgery in Salt Lake. They were happy to report he is doing fine. Their home is in Othello, Wash. A large audience paid tribute to Mr. Loy Anderson at his services Saturday, Jan. 30 at the chapel. Loy passed away Thursday at the Delta Hospital following a very short illness. Our sympaihy and regrets re-grets go to his mother Mrs. Eliza Anderson and her family. Relief Society Stake visitor at Relief Society meeting Wednesday night -was Mrs. Erma Cropper, ft was a very interesting meeting. Mrs. Erma Nielson gave the lesson. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Lovell and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anderson spent Thursday and Friday In Salt Lake to attend the Farm Bureau Con vention. Mrs. Lorraine Anderson and child ren were visitors last week. They attended the missionary report Sunday night. Mrs. Botty Christensen and child ren and Judie Peterson visited Sunday Sun-day with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Chris tensen and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Chris tensen. Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Junius Anderson attended the dedication of a church house at Kearns Sunday. Mrs. Anderson's And-erson's son is the bishop of that ward. OASIS RUBY SKEEM Margaret and Aian Summsion of Ogden visited over the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stanworth. Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Skeem spent a few days in Salt Lake City seeing their nephew, Gary Wiley prior to his departure to Argentina on an LDS Mission. Gary has spent the past three months at BYU learning languages. Robert and Ellen Anderson and family of Ephraim visited with Mr. and Mrs. J. Val Styler Saturday. They all enjoyed a very lovely day Evva Cahoon observed her birthday birth-day Thursday. Bruce Anderson came home Sunday Sun-day from Provo where he is employed em-ployed and attending school. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cropper and Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Hawley went to Salt Lake Monday to see Cordell Cropper off on his mission. His headquarters will be Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif. Cordell has been at the BYU where he learned the Spanish Spa-nish language. Richard Howell was one of the football team members who receiv ed an award Monday night at the Palomar. Saturday night the Lihoma girls honored their fathers by giving their Daddy-Date dinner. The dinner, din-ner, prepared by Ella Christensen and Margaret Nichols, was served to approximately 25 people. The tables were beautifully decorated and snowflakes decorated the hall. Each girl participated on the program pro-gram after which games were enjoyed. en-joyed. David Anderson gave Sacrament meeting Sunday. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Anderson visited in our ward. We enjoyed their visit and the meeting.
