Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Little left Delta last Wednesday for a visit with their son and family in Oakland, Oak-land, Caiif. They will be gone for three weeks. ; Mr. and Mrs. Wes Dutson and baby visited in Delta over the week . end with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ross. Wes went back Sunday evening. Sharon and baby stayed for a long er visit. Richard Dekker celebrated his 12th birthday by taking his nine friends to the picture show. Mrs. Zola Lambright is rejoicing over a new granddaughter been to Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Lambright in Tooele. The baby was born Jan. 7th, a little girl, weighing 6 lbs. 5 oz. and was the first baby born in the Tooele hospital in the new year. Mr. Jim Ross spent Xmas and New Year's in Chicago with his family, fa-mily, Mr. and Mrs. Don Roesner Jeri and Jimmie. Jimmie returned home in time for school. Second Ward News ' LUCILE KIMBER 4 Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Miller re- 1 turned Friday from an interesting ten-day trip. It all started when they went to Las Vegas to visit their daughter Joyce and Duane Terry and to celebrate New Year's Eve. Ed's brother Bill and wife Eva Miller of Provo joined them and they went to the Fremont Casino i to see the old year out. It was like a small Delta reunion for they by chance ran into Roy and Dorothy Steele and Elwin and Leona Prest-wich. Prest-wich. So they had an enjoyable time together. On Jan. 4th Ed and Goldie drove down to Phoenix, Ariz, to visit Mr. and Mrs. Marion Terry, formerly of Delta. While in Phoenix they had ; the chance to chat with Clayton Stapley and Stella Ashby and they . both sent their best wishes to all their friends in the Delta area. They then went to Mesa and tour- ed the temple grounds and visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Bry-ant Larson. They also had a chance to talk with Jeff Jones and Earl Harris,, both of this area. They returned re-turned home by way of Blythe, Calif, and stopped in Overton, Nev. and visited with their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Gay Smith. Mr, and Mrs. Lawrence Bunker had plenty of company over the New Year's weekend: Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Farey of Salt Lake, LaVina's sister, Rita's children Linda, Marilyn, Mari-lyn, Dennis and Johnny, all students stu-dents at the BYU; and their son Val and his friend Darwin Leavilt of Las Vegas who is a student of USU in Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Orin Stoddard and family visited with Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Jones at Santaquin during dur-ing the holidays and a family dinner din-ner was enjoyed by other members of the Jones family. Margaret Hansen spent last week end with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen and sister Ruth. Mr. and Mrs. Deral Clawson of Tucson, Ariz, spent several days last week with her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Clayson Cahoon. Mr. and Mrs. Clayson Cahoon had their children Mr. and Mrs. Owen Cahoon of Logan and Mr. and Mrs. Alton Cahoon of Layton with them this past weekend. They attended he funerai of their uncle, Cecil Cahoon. Paul and Dorothy Theobald, a- long with Jonel and Joan Nielson spent a day at Provo. They stopped stopp-ed in Nephi and attended the basketball bas-ketball game between Delta and Nephi. Verdella Adams spent last Saturday Satur-day in Salt Lake giving music lessons. les-sons. Kent Kimber was home last week end from Cedar City where he is at. ending school. Miss Laura Lee Hansen, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hansen, spent the holidays in Los Angeles with. Mr. and Mrs. Winston Chris-tensen Chris-tensen and brother Craig. She had a wonderful week seeing all the sights including Knotts Berry Farm and Disneyland. Would like to take this opportu nity to tell Ava Losee and Joan Cutler what an outstanding job they did Sunday at Stake Conference Confer-ence with the boys and girls of our Stake Primary. Their singing was wonderful and was enjoyed by ail who attended. First Ward Hews LEONA WORKS Ross Workman, a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Winsor, stopped last Monday night and had dinner with them. He had been to Springdale to visit his mother and was on his way to Dugway where he is working. work-ing. We are happy to have in our neighborhood Orvil and Donna Jef-fery. Jef-fery. They moved in their home that had been rented to the Erick-son Erick-son family. Mrs. Neil Howard and son Lance and a friend Mrs. Dick Gehrke and two children of Baldwin Park arrived ar-rived in Delta Wednesday night. Thursday Mrs. Howard and son and Mrs. Pratt left to take Mrs. Gehrke and family to Salt Lake to visit with her parents. Mrs. Howard and Mrs. Pratt stayed and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Don Pratt and family and came home Saturday night where Mrs. Howard will stay for two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Atkins and family of Tooele spent Sunday in Delta with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Workman. I forgot to mention last week that Grant Workman and son Stephen Ste-phen were down to visit and Grant was looking after his property here. Mr. and Mrs. John W. Swalberg went to Salt Lake last Sunday to visit with Mrs. Swalberg's brother, Harry J- Johnston who is in the LDS Hospital. Thureday they went down to Springville to attend funeral fun-eral services for a friend, Michael Long. They returned home Friday. Mrs. Swalberg received a letter from a neice in San Bruno, Calif, telling her that their son, Capt. Kurt C. McDonald, was shot down New Year's Eve in Viet Nam. He was on a reconnaissance mission in a spotter plane and last seen over in the jungle near the Laotian Border. He was the son of Lt. Col. and Mrs. C. W. McDonald. They had been receiving telegrams from time to time telling about the search, but last Friday one came that they had suspended searching. He was put officially on the missing miss-ing status. Sometimes these reports hit close to home. Mrs. Brog Hopkins, Debra, and Jacquie and Mrs. Cecelia Hopkins spent Sunday in Salt Lake and all. To Honor Couple At Open. The couple exchanged wedding vows Dec. 26 in Sutherland Ward Chapel before members of the fa milies and close friends. Bishop Ferrell Walker officiated. Announcement of the engagement engage-ment of Miss Joyce Hill to Mr. Bud West, is being made by Mr. and Mrs. Art Hill. Mr. West is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James West of Spanish Fork. Miss Hill is a graduate of Delta High School and is now attending Utah State University where she is affiliated with Tri Delta Sorority. Mr. West has attended Utah State University where he was affiliated af-filiated with Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He is presently enrolled in medical school at the University Lark. They visited in Salt Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ashton and son and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Winkle and daughters and Sharon Hopkins. They all went to Lark where they home, coming thru Leam.
