She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Spencer, residents of Hinckley. Besides being a talented pianist Claire likes other types of music. Among other interests are sports such as softball and water skiing. Business classes, shorthand and office practice axe Claire's favorite She does her work well and thoroughly. thor-oughly. With her work she also finds time to participate in the school activities, Pep Club and the school opera. When Claire graduates she plans to attend Provo Tirade and Tech. to major in business. This petite senior with clear blue eyes is a polite and friendly girl. Claire doesn't believe in false pretenses pre-tenses and is always sincere and willing to help others. Another important im-portant part of Claire is her plea sant outlook on life. D. H. S. is proud to have students such as Claire who participate and make D. H. S. what it is. Delta Wrestlers Capture Tournament The Delta High wrestling squad sponsored a four-school wrestling tournament last Friday. Cedar City, Richfield, and Juab were the visiting visit-ing teams that participated. The Rabbits took all the honors by being the only team not to loose a match. The Delta scoring went as follows: fol-lows: I FIRST HOUND CLINTON MERRELL Clinton Merreil, son of Clifford and Marie Merreil of Delta, is a tall, dark, brown-eyed teen. He's friendly, ambitious, and well-liked at DHS. Clint is a well-rounded student whose hobbies include debating, dramatics, basketball, hunting, fishing, and chemistry. His chemis try set at home is a source of joy to him in his spare moments. A- mong his favorite classes are chem istry, physics, and calculus, which choices reveal serious application to work. He is a member of the Science and U. N. Clubs. ' He participated in DHS activities as Stage Manager, a leading character char-acter in the play, "Our Town," as Marcellus Washburn in the operetta, operet-ta, "The Music Man." Scientific Research is the field he wishes to enter after he finishes college. DENYS SCHENA "If Ever I Leave You The sophomores held their annual an-nual Sophomore Swing, Friday, Jan. 8, at the Deseret Stake House. It was centered around the different seasons of the year. As the couples entered they were entranced by a forest of snowy trees. After entering enter-ing and admiring the different corners cor-ners associated with the different seasons the couples began their dancing to the music of the Delta Dixieland Six. LUNCH This vear of '65 started out to be a good (eating) year. Over 500 students stu-dents ate daily this past week. We' want to thank the lunch ladies for preparing such good and tempting meals. COUNSELOR ANNOUNCES Attention Seniors, January 23 is the final date to have your ACT test application mailed, if you are planning to take your college entrance en-trance test February 20. Seniors who have already taken this test may make an appointment with Mr, Fowles to go over the results. COLLEGE DAY February 8 will be college day at D. H. S. This is to acquaint the Seniors with the different colleges that they can attend here in Utah. A program will be given the morning morn-ing of February 8 especially for the Seniors. Be sure to attend school this day. Your future may look brighter for you if you decide to attend and to make the information infor-mation worthwhile. BASKETBALL Congratulations, members of the basketball team, on your victory over the D. H. S. alumni Saturday night.
