Banks attended the funeral in Kanosh Wednesday for Mrs. Ma-lissa Ma-lissa Penny. Mr. and Mrs. Harry McCardell, Bob and Jim, Mrs. Mary Freer and Alan Nielson were fair visitors In the capitol city, Sunday. They especially enjoyed "Holiday on Ice." Mr. and Mrs. Clead Nielson drove to Salt Lake Saturday for the fair. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Julian Rassmussen and family and Mrs. Jane Ashby, who is stay lng at the Rassmussen home. They returned Sunday afternoon. Former Resident Dies Word was received by Carl Ben son of the death of his father, Mr. Allie Benson, in Montebello, Calif., Friday morning. Mr. Benson passed away very peacefully in his sleep but has had poor health for some time. He had been retired from the Union Pacific railroad for several years. Burial took place in Parawon on Tuesday. J. A. Banks and Mrs. Lucille Johnson attended the funeral and burial there with Mr and Mrs. Carl Benson. ' Our sympathy goes out to Carl, his mother and family. They were resident here for many years but have resided in California for the past twenty. Mr. and Mrs. Garence Hogan are in California this week with their family, going down Sunday evening. They went to accompany their daughter, Romay, and some of her converts from her mission field, to the Los Angeles Temple. They left Sunady evening by train and in Los Angeles, Ray was able to be at the train to meet them. Ray's wrist had been crush, ed and he will not be able to work for some time. They drove home in Ray's car bringing him along to recuperate. Mrs. Arvilla Wilders spent the past week here from Salt Lake with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Talbot. Mrs. Rhea Whatcott received a phone call from her son, Darold saying he had tickets for the fair and Follies, so she went to Salt Lake and enjoyed an evening there with Darold and family, and Mrs. Amy Erickson. Saturday, fifteen Primary children child-ren were taken to Mantl to the temple for baptisms. Lowell Wllkins Wll-kins and Herbert Abegglen took the young people over. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Nielson and family and Mrs. Josephine Sudbury went to spend Saturday afternoon at the fair in the city. Mrs. Eunice Nielson and son, Blaine, drove to Provo Sunday, to take Leon and Joe Nielson to begin school. They then went on to Salt Lake where they joined Mrs, Donna Don-na Haycock and girls, for a day at the fair. Mr. and Mrs. Lite Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Tillman Johnson and children spent Saturday night and Sunday in Salt Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Bemell Tolbert and children and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Greatwood and Charlie. After dinner in the park Sunday, they returned home. Mr. and Mrs. Greatwood left Monday Mon-day morning on the "Challenger" for their home in Long Beach, CaL Mr. and Mrs. Curt Johnson and George were in the city for the fair Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Greathouse had word from their son Don, that he is enjoying his teaching over at Roosevelt Miss Gladys Banks was home over the weekend from Salt Lake with her father and the Abegglen family. Allred spent the weekend in Salt Lake City at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Garth Bishop. The Daughters of Pioneers of the Fanny Cropper Camp met Thursday afternoon at the home of Zada Dewsnup. A very enjoyable after, noon was spent by a large number of daughters. Refreshments were served. Our sincere sympathy at this time goes to Mrs. Doyle Mace at the passing away of her father, Joseph Wilcken. Funeral services were held at Roosevelt, Utah, on Monday Sept. 23. Grant Western from Salt Lake City, spent the weekend visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Western. Miss Carolyn Christensen from Brigham, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Christensen. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Riding and children from Arizona, visited during dur-ing the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Theobald and son Ronald from Dugway, visited Saturday and Sunday at the home of Amanda Dewsnup. Mrs. Dora Black and sons, Boyd Boyd and Craig, spent the weekend at Bountiful with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Williams. Of Local Interest Mr. and Mrs. David Terry, Del- tans since their marriage 50 years ago, moved household goods Saturday, Sat-urday, and are now making a home in Provo. They sold their home in Delta to Dorsey Sabey, of Callao, Utah, and Mr. and Mrs. Sabey and three young sons moved into their home this week. Dean and Deral Bishop and Deral's son, Eddie, of Sandy. Mrs. Ila Stanworth and children, Max and Janet made a trip to Nephi, Monday. There were quite a few from our community who visited the Fair over the weekend. Ralph and Shirley Shir-ley Skeem, Deon and LaVene Gill, en, Enoch and Hilda Gillen, Arlo and Norma Skeem and Leo and Beth Day, were some of them.
