Show county cormer passes away carl oscar waldemar pierson a former resident of oasis and many years cashier of the oasis state bank died sunday from a of blood forming in the heart he was 55 years old born in south Cotton cottonwood nood april 6 1884 the son of peter and ingrid pierson his schooling was at murray his later place of residence at the time ot of his death he was cashier of the pa cibic coast joint stock land bank ot of salt lake city funeral services were bild lild h ld in san dy he married mamie A gillen in the L D S temple in salt lake city on june 30 1810 1910 and his wife and the following tour four children survive him kenneth G lerona wayne nelda he Is also survived by two brothers and six sisters mr air pierson was active in church service and served a three year mis slon sion in sweden in oasis he took an active part in civic and church at af fairs besides hia his other duties the writer of this came to delta in 1913 to be cashier of a rival bank in mr pierson s territory there was never anything but the best of good will eit felt between the two and that good will developed into a firm and lasting friendship mr pierson grant ed many favors to us cementing the mutual relations through the years his disposition was most affable a al ways courteous and ever kind the writer holds his memory in deep re while he was cashier of 0 the oasis bank he gathered indian relics lat er when he retired from this field he took his collection to sandy and several years later the writer visited him there took photos of his col lection and wrote an article about it which the improvement era pub listi ed at that visit the writer was sur to be shown a tile file of 0 all copies of the chronicle from dressers first issue to date carefully put away and ind kept as a treasured memento of lillaia county and bis his life and ac tivi ties here that tile file was contin d to the time ot of his death one day the writer found the del ta state bank needed in cur rency a telephone call to mr air pier son was answered why certainly glad to accommodate you it will be a pleasure I 1 took exchange tor for rode a motorcycle down got the currency started back and in making the first turn out of oasis tipped over at a bridge thrown bad ly oft off the machine I 1 got up dazed and may have been slightly ancon scions from the bad tall fall felt first for the money and then checked up on hurts after a few minutes I 1 was able to ride on home and put the currency in the safe it Is recalling such incidents as that in the life of rivals tor for busl bust ness that endear the memory of a departed friend to the widow and the sons and daughters the editor of the chroni cle extends a heartfelt sympathy in the loss of so good and kind a bus band and father may his worth ev er be a cherished memory |
