Show ELDULA BISHOP BASSETT mrs eldula bishop bassett the wife ot of william H bassett ot of delta died at their home on wednesday afternoon at 3 15 p in she had been III since tuesday morning and died from a cerebral hemorrhage being apparently in good health her sudden death came as a great shock to the community mrs bassett was born in fillmore feb 26 1879 te daughter ot of S and ann E Mel melvillee villie bishop her early life was spent in fillmore later she attended the B Y U and taught school at spring valley nevada issett Blas sett hanch ranch in snake val ley and at woodruff utah she was married july 5 1902 to W H bassett and tor for several years they lived at american pork fork and at fairfield before coming to delta in 1912 since which time they have made their home here during the years of their residence here mrs bassett has taken a prom anent part in the development of this community her ability and will dingness to serve have made her a diligent and valued worker in many civic welfare projects and she was an active worker in n the L D S church participating in sunday school primary mutual and relief society work at true time of her death she was a coun counsellor soller in the second ward mutual she had ed as secretary of the deseret stake relief society her inte resets included the daughters of utah Plo pioneers whom she had served as corresponding secretary of west millard D U P she P iad been fc member of the jolly switchers chers club since coming to delta and has been president of the organization another valuable contribution mrs bassett made to the community wel fare was her long years 0 of service in the west millard red cross for tue the past several ceasr she has been heen chairman and although released re dently was still assisting in the work and attended a meeting monday d a y night also attending a geneal logical society meeting that same ev ey ening mrs bassett was the mother of seven children one of whom a son alton died about nineteen years ago she Is survived by her husband and the following children william S june I 1 ralph and N S of delta and mrs wainona of salt lake city and mrs irma ingersoll of rl RI fie colorida Colo roda also by her mother mrs ann E bishop and two sisters mrs airs nora B ingersoll ot of american pork fork and mrs walora wallace of delta there are five grandchildren wm lynn bassett margaret robert and elvin herbert ingersoll and oscar funeral services will be held in the delta second ward chapel fri day afternoon at 1 00 p m under in th direction of bishop stephenson irlenna may view the body at aae afine between 11 30 and 12 30 fri day interment will be in the delta cemetery mrs bassett was a devoted wife and mother her many friends here who knew her appreciated her fine qualities and extend their sincere sympathy to the bereaved family |
