W Western Jr Died Tuesday Samu Samuel l Wood Western Jr died in Delta Tuesday morning at the home of oC his daughter Mrs Orvil Bennett at the age of oC seventy- seventy nine years Mr Western Vestern was born at Duncan's Duncans Duncans Duncan's Duncans Duncan's Dun Dun- cans can's Retreat Washington County I on May 10 1867 a son of Samuel W. W Western and Clara Ann Wood Western When he was ten years old he moved to Deseret where his parents were among the first settlers and early pioneers of oC that country I As a boy Mr Western herded cattle and at the age of oC 17 he started freighting in which he was actively engaged until 1928 For years he drove his freight outfit to Gold Hill Fish Springs Drum I and Tooele Later he bought a farm farmin in Deseret from a brother which he ran until two years ago when he retired on account of poor health and sold Up until that time the land had always been in the Western name since Deseret was first settled He had made his home in Delta with Mrs Bennett after aeter moving from Deseret and his health had failed steadily this past year Mr Western married Clara Margaret Margaret Margaret Mar Mar- garet Phillips on May 23 1889 who died in October 1925 Three dau daughters daughters daugh daugh- h- h and one son survive him Mrs Myrl Bennett of Deseret Dewey Western Vestern of oC American Fork Mrs I Fontella of Provo Prove and Mrs Clara Bennett of oC Delta There are 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grand great children Brothers and sisters surviving surviving surviving sur sur- are John Henry Western Francis Marion Western Eliza Cropper Samuel Ray Western Gertrude Gertrude Gertrude Ger Ger- trude Western and Bernice Western Western West West- ern era all of oC Deseret Mrs Anna Alldredge Alldredge All- All dredge St. St George Mrs Ruth Durbin Dur- Dur Durbin Durbin bin Jess Western and Mrs Gladys Hoy of Salt Lake ake City Myron Western Pocatello and Mrs Mina Sappington Ririe Idaho and Alma Western of Hinckley Funeral services will be held in inthe inthe inthe the Deseret chapel on Friday at 2 p. p m. m mt Bishop Adelbert Bennett conducting under the direction of oC L.
