Saturday Sat-urday evening they went with the Hughes to the "Nut Cracker Suite" held at the Kingsbury Hall on the campus of the University of Utah. They said it was beautiful. Joseph and Bertha Fullmer brought us out a nice little Christmas tree and decorated It for us, which made it very much more like Christmas. I guess you're never too old to like a tree. The fresh pine smell, I surely like. Mlcheal and Jeanle Anderson and little Scottie of Grantsville Grants-ville spent Christmas with the Dick Fullmer family in Delta. They also called on us. We were very happy to hear from Mrs. Laura Petty, Los Angeles and Mrs. ViolaSonger in Napa, Calif. Collins Fullmer and family and Ken Fullmer (twins) of Elmer and Gladys Fullmer, Delta, spent the holidays here in Delta. They live In Salt Lake. Collins visited old neighbors too, Cllfferd and Erma Petersen Peter-sen and Warren and family. The Petersen family of Lay-ton Lay-ton were at the Petersen home Saturday and Sunday. Erma said they heard from all of their family, which made them indeed happy. We enjoyed a nice visit Christmas Eve from Clark Bliss. Clark had Christmas dinner with Butch and Judy Stoneking. Garl and Phyllis Johnson and daughter, Jill, visited the Met-vin Met-vin Robisons, Phlllls' folks, on Christmas in Flowell. Jill . is here for the holidays and is nursing a bad cold. Jill teaches in the Granite School District. Mr. and Mrs. William L. Bunker and Eulalia of Delta were at the home of Lee and Velma Talbot Sunday. Lee is feeling much better since his recent operation. The two marines, Mike and Kenneth Poulsen, sons of Dave and Kathleen Poulsen are ho me for 15 days. A special Sunday school Christmas program was given Sunday with the Senior and Jr. Sunday school combined. And in the evening the Ward Youth Choir presented a special Christmas program well prepared under the direction direc-tion of Karen Pace, Chorister. Tammy Jones, Ladd Hales and Stephen Johnson gave talks. Miss Dorothy DeLapp is home from Cedar to spend the holt- day with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. John DeLapp and family,' Miss Emily Young from the. BYU Is spending the vacation between ' semesters and the Christmas holiday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alva Young. Mr. David Wilde and Mr. Pentz of Croydon stopped off on their way out to the sheep herd. They reported that there was three feet of snow there and it was still snowing when then left. It may become a duplicate of the year '49 when we were all snowed in for quite a few days. The school kids liked it for a few days but welcomed getting back into school when they were able. To be compelled to stay away from school grew into something some-thing distasteful. I hope that all people throughout through-out the world will keep in mind the meaning of Christmas that we are all appreciative of Christ's atonementthat all . man kind may come unto Him. Mrs. Joey Bennett went to Kanab over the weekend to care for their grandson while Doris was In the hospital with her new daughter, born Dec. 18. A New Year's Eve party will be held at the Sutherland Cultural Cul-tural Hall for all married people of the Ward. Then they will all go to the New Year's dance after. It promises to be Jots of fun. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Callister and children from Ariz., were here to spend the holiday with . ' their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Ber-nard Jackson. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Turner spent a few days with folks, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Turner and family. Kent is training to be a Dentist. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Corry for the birth of a new little daughter who came to them on the blessed day of Christmas. Mr. Lewis Rawlinson was home to visit with his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rawlinson, Rawlin-son, Kim and Dane. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Rlgby (LaRue) Anderson and family of San Jose, Calif., spent the season's holiday with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Anderson, An-derson, Luana and Wayne. Also with their brother, Mr. and Mrs. David Anderson and family. It was so nice to see and talk to all of the people who came to visit with their folks. They all seem so close to us. Miss Edith DeLapp was chosen as Dorm Mother at the Cedar College and Mr. Robert Owens was chosen as Dorm father at the Rick's college. Congratulations to both of these students. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Rose and children, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Robinson all from Richfield, Rich-field, Mr. and Mrs. David Wilde of Croydon and Bp. and Mrs. Melvin Hepworth of Cedar spent the remainder of the holidays with parents the Heber Roses. We will miss Mr. and Mrs. John Henrie so much, when they go to school, but wish them well in their school endeavors, and will be looking forwart to their return. Some of us always think about the beauty and advantages in other lands and under foreign skys, i and yet have never awakened to the beautiful within five miles of the place where we live. We should always distrust dis-trust people who feel so keenly about this, because success or failure in anything is caused even more by mental attitudes than by mental capacities or conditions of the place in which they live.
