Show Millard County Chronicle-Thursday, December 17, 1970 Hinckley; Ivan Wright was released from the LDS Hospital and came home Saturday. His son ( Lawrence, brought him down. Lawrence's daughter and her ' friend came with them. A new little grandson for Mrs. Dorothy Damron arrived Sunday, Dec. 13, 1970 at the ; West Millard Hospital. This " is the fifth grandchild. The baby was born to Leslie and Dennis Johnson. He . is the second grandchild for the Don Johnsons John-sons of Sutherland. Beryl Hardy drove to Salt Lake Friday afternoon to see" Carl. He is employed there. Our big ward party Is this Saturday, Dec. 19, 1970, in our new building. Big turkey supper program, a ward building fund project. EVERYONE COME!! The Literary Club met at Rose Magowan's home this week. Present were: Belva Morris, Erma Cropper, Reva Talbot, Golda Talbot, Fannie Lee Hilton, Cherie Morris, Elaine Hardy. Ruth Talbot gave selections from the book, "Especially at Christmas." . Betty and Steven Talbot and baby Shawn were up from St. George on the weekend to see the Lynn Talbot's. ' Perry and Beatrice Tippetts were in Provo Saturday. Teresa and Duncan icame" down Friday with her daafrc-m Salt Lake to stay with lis for the weekend. Pat Manls came up with the Dixie College Choir that sang at our High School last week. . He visited with his parents, the Walter Manlses and familv. Brent Peterson and Pat Manis went to Salt Lake the last of the week. The Clifford ' Losee family have moved into the former Vi Robinson home that the Tim Andersons have been living in for the past several months. The big Christmas Tree we have every year on the Church grounds was put up on the weekend and the decorations along main street. Our high school A Cappella 3hoir that performed on TV last Tuesday did such a nice job, and everyone enjoyed seeing see-ing them so much. Golwyn Cluffhas gone to Ariz, to spend the winter. lip ft? I ELAINE HARDY ( Arvllla Workman's brother, Jess Jacobson and his wife were here from Provo to see her during the past week. High Councilman Don Webb, visited our ward Sunday. For evening meeting program, Steven Stoddard who has returned re-turned from a mission to the Alaskan-Canadain Mission, accompanied him. Also helping help-ing to present the program were Don's two daughters, Rita and Ann Webb, who came down from Salt Lake to be here. They sang a vocal duet and were accompanied by a friend of theirs from Salt Lake, Ann Larson. Another friend, LeAnn Spring, who is from Mass., no of Salt Lake, came down also, and they visited at the Don Webb home. Wesley and Evelyn Morris went to Idaho recently to a family gathering, all of Wesley's brothers and sisters met for Thanksgiving. Ed Morris who was at American Falls, Idaho, playing with his muscial group at the Stardust Club came and spent the day with them. He will be playing in Pocatello a week and then they return to Portland Ore. where the group plays at the Embers Club. Sherry and Leon Lewis went up to Idaho with ' Wesley and Evelyn. Mrs. Dorothy Damron and children went to Salt Lake on the weekend. Irene Stanworth and her two kiddles went with them. At the Kennard Carters on the weekend was their son, Pete Deb, and baby, Blaine, of Salt Lake. Our Ward member Lee Talbot Tal-bot returned home from the hsopital In Salt Lake last week. Ester Stevens has been home with her family, the Clyde Stevens. She attends school at ; St. George. Margaret Roper has been here with her daughter, Betty Jane Morris and family this week. Mr. and Mrs. joe Redd and two daughters of Orem, Carolyn McCallister of Orem, and Judy Knight of Kentucky were all down to see the Dean Redd family Wednesday. Karen Redd and children went to Orem Saturday for the day. Norma Jackson and boys, Tonl, Mike and Clark of Morgan were here last week to see the Dewey Carpenters. Mrs. VI Draper drove upfrom Kanab to see Valyn and family for a few days. Ruth Talbot and Belva Morris drove to Mldvale on Thursday to go to their sisters place. Bertha Barton where they enjoyed en-joyed a Christmas party together. to-gether. Grayce Pace went with them. Mrs. Linda Eklns is now the Relief Society Organist. Bob Orton, his wife and two children, moved to Hinckley the first of this week. Mr. Orton manages our new sewing sew-ing plant here. He was living in Delta. The AYUDA Benefit at the Stake House Saturday evening was very enjoyable -all report who attended. Gloria Wlllday did a good job as narrator and the dances and music were real nice and enjoyable. en-joyable. The fashion show was lovely. Mrs. Dorothy Theobold recently re-cently returned home after convalescing at her home in Orem following an operation. Paul took her to Salt Lake Monday Mon-day for a check up. Carl and LaVerne Theobold recently attended the wedding of their granddaughter, Gwen, who is the daughter of Verrue and Shirley Theobold, now of Avon, New York. She was married in the Salt Lake Temple to Raymond Loveless, son of Mr. and Mrs. Miles Loveless of Smithfield, Utah. They attended the wedding wedd-ing breakfast which followed at the Roadway Inn for family members, hosted by the groom's parents; also the wedding wed-ding reception given by. the bride's parents, on the following follow-ing weekend at the Wilkinson Center in Provo. Elaine and Fred Turner and Paul Theobold also attended the reception. This last weekend, Carl and LaVerne Theobold went to Pay- son to see Joyce and Marion Manwell and to help with the family while Joyce was in the Payson Hospital for some tests and treatments. The MIA presidency, members mem-bers and teachers all went Christmas . Caroling around town Tuesday evening, after which a chili supper was enjoyed en-joyed at the lunchroom. Enid and Carl Damron went to Provo Saturday. They met their son Paul, who came down from Heber. Hinckley Ward Choir Cantata Sunday, Dec. 19, at the Church. Christmas Carols will be sung for- half hour prior to this. Mrs. Jenave Chapman is home now after visiting with her family in Ogden. She also visited in Bountiful with Heber and Vera Bishop and she reports re-ports that they are well and doing just fine. Happy Birthday to you all. The Lee Judds have been to Salt Lake this week. Rose Shumway and two kiddies have been up North with Ron the past week. He works in the Provo area. Lewis Swensonhasbeenhome during the week with his wife, Lisa; he is working out of town. Mr. and Mrs. Dell (Nina) Anderson of Salt Lake visited over, the weekend with her parents, the Marlon Dillen-becks Dillen-becks and her sister, Kelly Talbot and family. Rita Jackson and family of Salt Lake came down and visited with the Eugene Bishops over the weekend. Mrs. Julia Carpenter has her beautiful" Christmas scene of figures, etc., adorning her yard complete with lights, spotlights as she does every year. There is a manger scene, and the three wise men, Santa Claus in his sleigh and the Reindeer Rein-deer pulling it, and a number of cute snowmen. Julia has made all of these and she does a wonderful job. Sharon and Sheldon Western went to Salt Lake on business . Monday. Christmas Seals are a favorite holiday custom. They're useful too.- They fight-emphysema, fight-emphysema, tuberculosis and air pollution. A IHI A II AM MBS. AfTON FULLMEB ' " One doesn't know what to expect. First cloudy and snowy then comes a beautiful warm day. This we do know, officially winter begins Dec. 22, however Utah's climate is not bad. Lee Talbot has returned ho me after undergoing an operation in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake. We hope he is soon well ' again and has no more trouble. It's sort of lonesome for the Kapaska family (Bonita Talbot) 'her husband is in Thailand in the Army. Bonita and her little family live in the Earl Petersen Peter-sen home and don't expect their daddy home for nearly a year. Almon Sr., June and Ronald Fullmer spent the weekend in Salt Lake. The Sherman Tolberts spent Thanksgiving Day with the Al '"McFarlane's t in Salt Lake. (Dorothy Talbert) Sherman and Gladys are expecting all their family home for Christmas. Erma and Cllfferd Petersen are grandparents again, with the arriving of a baby boy to Owen (Pete) Brunner, and his wife, Charleen. This makes two boys and two girls for the Brunner family. The new little one will be named Owen Jr. for his father. Grandma Erma will have the little girl, Crystal, for a while. Sherman Petersen has been dismissed from his spell in the Army. Sherman was badly wounded in Vietnam. He is doing pretty good now and glad to be home. He, and his wife are at the Harold Petersens at present. Mr. Allen Petersen visited the Harold Petersens last week. He lives in Phoenix, Ariz. They have two children. Mr. Sid Tolbert has been visiting friends and relatives here. He is doing quite well now, after his bad injury in a car wreck in Idaho last summer. Please call me your news items, anyway I like to hear from you. LYMMDYL CINDY GREATHOUSE IIEVS Gerry Nielson of Nephi was An Lynndyl Friday. Terry Jones son of Mr. and Mrs, . Aralda Jones was married to Shawna Johnson of Payson Friday. Bishop Ben Stephenson married the couple. Their reception was at the Pay-son Pay-son Fourth Ward, it was a very nice . affair. At the reception from Lynndyl were: Mr. and Mrs. Bob Droubay, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. D.ean Eatough, Mr. and'Mrs. Eddie Dutson, and three of their children, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Stephenson, and son, Steve, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Nielson and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Greathouse. Former residents of Lynndyl there were: Jean Tolbert of Cedai;, Bill and Jill Tolbert and Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Nielson Niel-son of Nephi. Craig and Deb Greathouse of Ogden were in Delta Friday night staying with Deb's mother, Mrs. Wanda Beckwith, and in Lynndyl Saturday staying with Craig's mother, Margie Greathouse. DeWayne and Pat Warnock stayed the weekend with Pat's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Over son took a five day trip to Walla Walla, Washington. They left early Sunday morning and arrived back home late Thursday Thurs-day night. They stayed with Bill's cousin, Reed Overson, (Reed is the brother of Louis and Clyde Oversonof Lynndyl). They - had a nice visit with everyone and the weather was nice most of their trip. Hazel Sheriff went to Salt Lake last week to see her grandson, Jerry Tanner, be baptized, Jerry Is the son of David and Sybil Lallas. Hazel also visited with her daughter, Gwen Ridgley. Hazel went on over to Centerville to see her son Olen Sheriff andhis family, and to Lehi to see her daughter Nona Duncan on her way home. Danny and Shauna Memmott of Orem are parents of a new baby boy. This makes a girl and a boy for them. Grandparents Grand-parents of Lynndyl are Mr. and Mrs. Dean Eatough. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Great-house Great-house went to Payson to the dentist during the week. Their son, Greg, was home from BYU for the weekend. Bob Droubay, Bp. Ben Stephenson and Steve Stephenson Stephen-son are all sick with the flu, hope they get feeling better soon. Sacrament meeting was given by high councilman, Lawrence Cropper. Jack Willoughby talked and sang a solo, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Armus Dutson.
