Show Millard County Chronicle Thursday, December 25, 1969 (yUGa'ioille Tlews VENICE DAVIS Mr. and Mrs. Dick Clark made a trip to Tooele Sunday for a visit and a get together with the Jay Garcia family. Christmas presents were exchanged and a Merry Christmas celebration was had. The Jolly Stitchers club held their annual Christmas party Friday Fri-day night. A hot turkey supper and all the trimmings was served to thirty-six members and partners. Seven tables of "500" were played until 11:00 then Christmas presents were exchanged. The reception of Linda and Steven Palmer was a beautiful affair af-fair Saturday night in the Sugar-ville Sugar-ville Cultural Hall. Many beautiful and useful gifts were received for the new home. We congratulate them and wish them the best 'n life. Sunday a Christmas program was given by the Sunday School which was given by the children. The narrater was Choral Clark. Visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Lane Losee and baby, Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Losee and family of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Losee Lo-see of Richfield and Donna Row-lette Row-lette of Calif. A beautiful live poinsetta plant was brought by Reva Losee. A largei crowd attended. at-tended. We are so happy to hear of the birth of a baby boy born to Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Shurtz last week. Mother and baby doing fine. Cecil has made several trips back and forth taking care of the families. Congratulations. Con-gratulations. We are sorry to hear of the death of the little Brinkerhoff baby born to Mr. and Mrs. Ken Brinkerhoff of Panguitch, Dec. 9th. She only lived a few hours. Our sympathy is with them at this time. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Meinhardt made a trip to Salt Lake the week. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Boothe made a trip to Salt Lake Saturday returning return-ing Sunday. June Hinckley was taken to the Salt Lake hospital last week. Robert and Elizabeth both have been here and will stay until he is better. We wish him a speedy recovery. The program Sunday night was given by the Bishopric. Elder Gam Turner was our speaker which we enjoyed very much. Eldon and Deon Talbot were home from Provo this week. The Headstart pupils at the school presented a Christmas program pro-gram to students, parents and invited in-vited guests. The Hinckley Lions Club held their Christmas party on Friday at the School Lunch Room. A group of 50 attended and enjoyed a banquet ban-quet and program. Rex Stanworth entertained with guitar-vocal numbers num-bers and a quartet, Barbara Bliss Raelene Brown, Joe Hardy and Marion Talbot accompanied by Marcia Talbot. Edith Ann Warnick and Beverly from school for j , ' ELAINE HARDY Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Morris went toi Salt Lake on the weekend to meet their son, Eddie as he was flying in from the Far East. Ed has completed his service stretch in the Navy and has now been released. They visited with their relatives in Salt Lake before coming com-ing home. Lovely Christmas scenes, as in years past, are on display at several homes in town. The Donald Carpenters and Arlo Taylors always have such pretty yards, with a variety of scenes, lights, etc Belva Morris and Ruth Talbot went to Midvale Tuesday where they had dinner with their sister, Bertha Barton. Grayce Pace, another an-other sister accompanied them. The Waler Manises drove to Og-den Og-den during the week to see Bonnie's Bon-nie's parents, the Paul Whickers. Bonnie drove up later in the week and returned home Friday night. The Literary and Rook clubs held their annual Christmas party at the School Lunch Room. Wedding bells rang for Mr. and Mrs. Vance Finlinson at the Manti Temple Dec 20 with members of their families In attendance. A reception re-ception was held at Kanosh in their honor with a large attendance atten-dance of Oak City people and many relatives and friends of that area attending. We wish to congratulate con-gratulate the newlyweds and wish them well. They will make a home grandson to her daughter, Celia and Jim Payne of Sandy. The new little boy weighed 8 lbs. He has one sister and three brothers. Terry Crafts, son of Fern Mast who is in the service has contracted con-tracted meningitis. His mother has gone to see him in the hospital. The Ray Browns went to Provo Friday. They stopped in Spanish Fork to visit Ray's sister, Jackie and Cliff Vorhees. While there Ray and Beth's little boy, Gary, fell down the stairs and broke his arm. at Fillmore where the new Mrs. Finlinson is teaching school. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Finlinson 1 and children of Montana, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Persons of Kamas and Miss Judith Finlinson of Blanding were here for the wedding and are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Finlinson. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Walker attended at-tended the Senior Citizen party at the M E Bird Center Thursday and on Friday evening they attended the Christmas card party of the Jolly Stitchers at the Woodrow Hall. The students home from college for the Christmas holidays, Moyle Anderson, Barry and Glade Anderson, Ander-son, LaRee Jacobson, Debra Lovell. Miss Carolyn Roper of Salt Lake is home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Roper. Miss Hazel Christensen of Salt Lake visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Wilard Christensen Friday and Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Finlinson are rejoicing over the arrival of a new little grandson born Dec. 18 at the Payson hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Dennis (Sylvia) Broderick. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lovell are at home from the Manti Temple for the Christmas holidays Mr .and Mrs. Wilborn Olson and children were Provo visitors Sat urday. 1 Mrs. Alice Anderson has been 111 the past few weeks and we send her our best wishes for a speedy recovery. Mr. Andy Mikesell Is home on leave from Vietnam with his wife, Jewel who is teaching school at Blanding. Mrs. Richard Talbot and children visited Saturday and Sunday with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Talbot. Tal-bot. Mrs. Aretta Peterson has gone to Salt Lake to spend the holidays with her son, Walter and family. Everyone is ready to celebrate Christmas. Many of the homes are decorated for the Christmns season sea-son and adds greatly to festive occasion. Everyone was saddened this Sunday Sun-day morning at the death of one of our ward members, Mr. Emery Dutson. He has been a lifelong member of our town and has been very active thru his life and will be missed by his friends and neighbors. Our sympathy goes to his wife, Lamira and family at the loss of their husband and father. The Ward Choir presented a cantata Sunday evening at Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting. It was very lovely and a nice way to start the holiday holi-day season. We do appreciate our choir. Miss Sue Nielson of Cedar visited visited a few days with her parents over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson received word that their son, Lamar La-mar is at present at home in Provo and going three times a week to the Veterans hospital in Salt Lake for treatment.
