Pat-ton Pat-ton of Mansfield, Ohio, announce the engagement of their daughter, daugh-ter, Diane, to Marine 1st Lieutenant Lieuten-ant Robert H. Biding, Jr. Lt. Biding is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Riding, Sr. of Delta. Miss Patton is a senior at Brigham Young University majoring ma-joring in Speech and Drama, on a scholarship. She is a member of the Forensics and Debate Squad and of the Thea Alexis Service Organization. She attended the Church College of Hawaii during her sophomore year where she was a member of the student council and head cheerleader. Lt. Riding is now serving in Vietnam and is expected to arrive ar-rive in the states June 6, 1970. He attended Utah State University Univer-sity prior to filling an LDS mis sion in the New England States. He attended BYU where he majored ma-jored in Accounting. He plans to return to college after his discharge dis-charge from the Marine Corps and enter Law. Pettus Randall, Publisher" lid for you I UEA Opens Office In Southern Utah The Utah Education Association now has a Southern Utah office, and a Southern Utah educator will be representing the association in this part of the state. He is Jack Walters, who until recently was teaching principal of the Escalante Valley elementary school at Beryl. Mr. Walters will be visiting schools, superintendents' offices, educators and private organizations organiza-tions in Beaver, Emery, Iron, Garfield, Gar-field, Kane, Millard, North Sanpete, San-pete, Piute, Sevier, South Sanpete, Washington and Wayne Counties. "We expect that he will be speaking frequently at civic clubs throughout the area," said Dr. Daryl J. McCarty, UEA executive secretary. "Many exciting things are happening hap-pening in our school systems, and we expect many organizations will be eager to hear about them." Dr. McCarty said Mr. Walter's role as the UEA's representative in southern Utah will be "to serve that area's educators and the public in providing better educa tion for our children." Mr. Walter's headquarters will be at his home in Richfield, 207 E, Center Street. He and Mrs. Walters have three daughters. Before his assignment at Beryl, Mr. Walters taught at East Elementary Ele-mentary school in Cedar City. He has been president of the Iron County Education Association and has served as a board member of the Southern Utah Teachers Asso ciation. MISS DEBORAH BECKWITH Deborah Reckivith to Speak Vomvs Miss Deborah Beckwith, daughter daugh-ter of Mrs. Wanda Beckwith and the late Frank S. Beckwith, will become the bride of Craig Paul Greathouse January 2, 1970. Mr. Greathouse is the son of Mrs. Margie Greathouse and the late Fred Greathouse, Lynnidyl. A reception will honor the couple that same evening at Delta First Ward. Their many friends are cftrdially invited to attend. Miss Beckwith is a graduate Delta High and attended Utah State University. She is presently attending the LDS Business College, Col-lege, Salt Lake City. Mr. Greathouse is a graduate of Delta High and Dixie College at St. George.
