Homer Petersen have just returned from Minneapolis Minnea-polis where they visited their children, chil-dren, Beverly and Jim DeWyze and little granddaughter, Michelle. While they were gone they became grandparents again when Pat and Lory Ashby of Phoenix, Ariz, became be-came parents of a baby boy, born Nov. 30. The new boy will be named Mark Andrew and has a sister, Sandy and a brother, Steven. Congratulations to Leoyd and Leila Lovell on the birth of their new daughter. Dale and Shirley Wood and daughter dau-ghter of Salt Lake visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Newell Iver-son Iver-son over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Riding visited with Alans' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kennard Riding. Vivian Hardy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hardy, has been at the Primary Children's Hospital for a week. We are happy to have her home again. Congratulations to Kathy Lyman on being named "Miss Cattle Queen." We are proud to have her represent Delta as she tours the state as Miss Cattle Queen. Mrs. Enid Hopkins and her daughters, dau-ghters, Debra and Jacquie, were in Salt Lake over the weekend. Mrs. Donna Sagers spent a few days in Orem visiting her children, Mario and Heidi Sagers and enjoying enjoy-ing her grandchildren, Heather and Eric. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Allred had their son, Howard, home for the weekend. He is in Richfield attending at-tending the Trade Tech there. They visited their children, Linda and Robert Grygla of Sandy on Saturday. At Relief Society Tuesday Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Gardner assisted by a number num-ber of other women, unveiled the true personality of "Debt" and Its companion, "Interest"; Charge cards, installment buying and easy payment plans were exposed with their accompanying evils after which Wyora Jeffery and Clara Poulson promptly went to the market mar-ket and charged lettuce for the workday luncheon and the other women charged materials for their workday creations. A pat on the back goes to the Relief Society Presidency who paid the babysitter babysit-ter in cash. On Sunday, Dec. 21, there will be a special Christmas program in Sunday School. Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. the ward choir under the direction of Dr. M. E. Bird will present the Christmas Cantata, Everyone is especially invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. J. LaMont Works received word of their fuvt grand' child born to Fred and Margie Judd Works at Lexington Park, Md. Dec. 15th. The wee miss weighed in at 8 lbs. 6 ozs. and will be named Shtri Ann. Other happy grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Lee L. Judd at Hinckley. Second Ward News EDDYS BAHBEN Recent visitors at the Vert Barney Bar-ney home were Vert's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Barney of Whittier, Calif. Clair and Caryl Baldwin of Sun Valley, Idaho are announcing the birth of a baby daughter, born Dec. 2nd. Her name will be Jerry Anne Baldwin. She has a sister, Lara Lee and a brother, Michael. This new baby girl is another grandchild grand-child for Mr. and Mrs. Van Bishop. Mrs. Bishop spent the past week in Sun Valley, Idaho withi the Baldwin Bald-win family and getting acquainted with the new baby girl. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Spor of Provo visited the past weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Turner re1 turned home Thursday from a five day trip to Nassau in the Bahama Islands. They went as guests of The J. I. Case Company. Dr. and Mrs. David Olson spent the weekend in Salt Lake visiting with family members and friends. They returned home Sunday evening. eve-ning. Mr. and Mrs. John A. Adams and Joan spent Thursday and Friday Fri-day in St. George. They attended the production of Scooge, a play put on by Dixie College in which their son, Nolan had a part. They enjoyed their trip, the play and their visit with Nolan and Gloria, both students at Dixie College. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sorenson, in Delta with the State Road Commission Com-mission were visitors at church Sunday in the 2nd Ward. Speakers in the 2nd Ward Sunday Sun-day were Mr. Owen Holt, Norma Farnsworth, Kathleen Wankier, Louise H. Lyman, Olive Barney, Peggy Crane, Arlene Hughes and Lorna Bunker. The ward Youth Choir furnished the music. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Losee and family fam-ily and Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Cornell and family. Mr. and Mrs. Elden Shurtz made a trip to Salt Lake Saturday. Sunday night the program was given by High Councilman Merlin Christensen. Talks were given by Martha Christensen, Martin Lud-wlg Lud-wlg and Merlin Christensen, a song by their two sons, Scott and Jerry. A good crowd attended. Tuesday the Relief Society had their workday meeting. A demonstration demon-stration making scarfs was given by Venice Davis. Xmas display was given by Lois Greene, gingerbread ginger-bread houses, candles, etc. A recipe and the product was made by each member and displayed. A pot luck dinner was served hot to the members mem-bers at noon. It's been a pleasure serving you in the past we look forward to serving you again!
