Mrs. Martha Lindsay was here Sunday to celebrate her 93rd birthday birth-day with Mr. and Mrs. James Owens and family. Also to visit with the Owens was Mrs. Lilly Owens, James' mother. Mr. Golden Erickson was able to be out Sunday after quite a few weeks of illness. The Young Marrieds held a Christmas Spiritual meeting Thursday Thurs-day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sherril Tolbert. Pres. Frank A. Ly man gave a talk on the "Meaning of Christmas." The Young Marrieds invite more young marrieds to attend. at-tend. All of the entertainments and parties are well worth while. Ray Johnson was home over the weekend to visit with his mother, Mrs. Betty Johnson. Mr .and Mrs. Gary Church and family of Delta were here Sunday to witness the blessing of Paul's baby. Mr. and Mrs. David Young have been here for a few weeks with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Owens and Janet. The Owens report re-port that their daughter, Varla and I husband, Elwin Wright are doing I fine in Indiana where Elwin Is teaching art at Perdue University. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Rigby and children spent Thanksgiving with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Anderson, Lwanna and Wayne. They received woid from their son, David, who has been in the Navy for four yeas. Mr. Rulon Anderson has been on the sick list for quite a few weeks. We hope he will soon feel well again. To Mr. Jay Fullmer we send our wishes for a speedy recovery. Jay met with an unfortunate accident last week when he tangled with a chopper. The Primary Christmas party was held Monday night at the Cultural Hall. A ham dinner with all the trimmings, a program and exchange of gifts for all the Primary Pri-mary teachers and officers and their partners including the Cub Scout leader and the Bishopric and partners marked another success-1 ful event of the Primary year. Kim Rawlinson just returned from the 48th National 4-H Congress. Con-gress. There were 1602 State and regional winners gathered there. Winners came from the 50 states, Canada, Puerto Rico, District of Columbia and some International Representatives. The winners were all awarded an expense paid trip to the Congresis for outstanding work in their particular fields of 4-H endeavors. The money was furnished by many different youth leadership minded companies and corporations. Kims' sponsor was the Westinghouse Electric Corporation.! With the score tied at 31 all late in the third quarter, Autovon edged out Brush by 3 points. Brush had 13 field goals to Autovon 11, but Autovon connected at the foul line to win the game. He said the government is going to initiate a program thru which the rural areas (this includes cities with population to 15,000) will be! improved to give Americans a chance to choose between big city life and rural living and see the advantages of jobs, etc., in both. Present were many top executives from companies and many other I influencial people spoke to them 'but the speech of the Sec. of Ag. ' with its hopes for the future really impressed Kim. The winners were able to attend 'a special performance of the Chicago Chi-cago Symphony Orchestra with Arthur Fedler conducting. At the 'banquet they were entertained with many different types of professionals pro-fessionals including "The Establishment", Estab-lishment", a singing group, a trampoline act, a Broadway singer, 'a jazz band, rock combo.
