Show Millard County Chronicle Thursday, December 4, 1969 SECOND WARD AREA HEWS BRIEFS EDDYS BARBEN Mr. and Mrs. Van Bishop and son, Vance, spent Thanksgiving in Cedar Ce-dar with their son, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Bishop. Friday Mr. and Mrs. Kent Bishop spent the day in Delta visiting. The M. Ward Moody family all met Wednesday to enjoy a family reunion and to celebrate Thanksgiving Thanks-giving together. Those in attendance atten-dance were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Esp-lin Esp-lin and family, Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Peterson and family, Orem; Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Anderson Ander-son and family, Alamosa, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Sheldon and daughters, Portland, Ore.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Moody and family and Mr. and Mrs. David Moody and family. They met at the Delta 2nd Ward Church Thursday for a Thanksgiving dinner and family program which was enjoyed very much by all. They visited at the Ward Moody home until Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Moody spent a week visiting friends and relatives rela-tives in Southern Utah, St. George, and traveling and sight seeing in Northern Arizona, recently. Mr. and Mrs. David Moody and family traveled to Alamosa, Colo, this week to visit with Janice's parents, her father is seriously ill. Dean Moody, 13 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Moody had his tonsils removed Saturday in the West Millard Hospital. He is experiencing exper-iencing a very rough time. He Is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Waid Moody. Jim and Eandy Jones of Provo friends of Joe Peterson were visitors visit-ors Wednesday and Thursday at the Ward Moody home to visit Joe. Mrs. Hazel Gronning had her granddaughter, Miss Sandra Judd, student at Snow College, and a friend, Mr. Greg Triplett of Orange Co., Calif, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Eodriguez (Veronica Judd, daugh ter of Sam Judd) of Downey, Calif. visiting for Thanksgiving and they spent the weekend visiting here with their grandmother. Miss Donna Eichardson and roommate visited Wednesday at the Barben home. Bonita Eusby and Donna Eichardson visited Sunday at the Barben home. The girls are all students at the LDS Business College in Salt Lake. The Eulon Callister family of Victorville, Calif, were Utah visitors visit-ors over the Thanksgiving holiday. They spent some time Saturday In Delta. Visiting at the John Alfred Adams home for Thanksgiving were all of their family, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Adams and son, Jimmy of Salt Lake, Mr. Nolan Adams of St. George, student at Dixie College and girl friend, Miss Patti Eliason of Las Vegas, Miss Gloria Adams, student at Dixie College and boy friend, Dennis Anderson of USU, Logan and Derw nis's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Anderson of St. George and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Spor of Provo. Weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Golden Black were Mr. and Mrs. Eamon Mangelson and three children, Scott, Kelie Ann ad Cory Holt; Golda Jano and her fience, Kent Jorgenson, all Salt Lake City. Miss Debra Stoddard, BYU student, stu-dent, spent the Thanksgiving hol iday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Stoddard and family. Friday, Mrs. Stoddard, Kathy, Patricia Pa-tricia and Gregery spent the day in Provo. The Stoddard family spent Thanksgiving day at the home of Marilyn's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Eryant Jones in Sutherland. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bunker spent Thanksgiving in Salt Lake with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Williams. Mar-leen Mar-leen is in bed at this time with rheumatic fever. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Bassett of Provo (Kay is a student at BYU) were Thanksgiving and weekend visitors with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. S. Bassett. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Larsen and family of Nephi also visited at the Bassett home for Thanksgiving. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Mclff of Richfield Rich-field were weekend visitors over the holiday with Renee's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Stephenson. Mr. and Mrs. Bob George (Mary Lyman) of Phoenix, Ariz, visited with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lyman and family. The parents and families of Mr. and Mrs. David Olson visited for Thanksgiving with the Olsons here. The entire family of Mr. and, Mrs. A. H. Maxfield visited together to-gether for Thanksgiving. They included in-cluded Mr. and Mrs. Blair Maxfield and family, Cedar; Garff and Dwight Maxfield, Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Thayne Maxfield and family of Erda, Tooele Co. Twenty-five Twenty-five family members enjoyed din ner together. Euth Steele and Charles Allen enjoyed Thanksgiving Day in Evanston, Wyo. at the home of her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Heyborne. Coming from Laramie, Lara-mie, Wyo. to join the family were Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Heyborne. Euth Steele, Zelda Ogden and Ivonne Miller of Beaver spent Monday Mon-day in Cedar City. Miss Euth Ann Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Adams and student at U of U in Salt Lake was a holiday visitor here. Mr .and Mrs. Douglas Eobison and six children of Orem and Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Black and six children chil-dren of Ogden spent the Thanksgiving Thanks-giving weekend here with parents, Mr. and Mrs. June Black. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gaddner had Norman's brother, Mr. and Mrs. John N. Gardner of Provo visit and eat dinner with them. Friday and Saturday the brother and four sisters of Mrs. Norman Gardner visited at a family reunion reun-ion here at the Gardner home. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Schlappi of Lehi, Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Fackrell of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. LaHarr Sorenson of St. George Mrs. Euth Kump of Axtell and Mrs. Grace Shorten of Concord, Calif. This is the first time in five years that they have been together. Family members of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sorensen visiting in Delta for Thanksgiving were Mr. and Mrs. Lucky Bessent (Lois Brush) of Las Vegas, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Rouser (Suzanne Sorensen) of Cedar Ce-dar and Mr .and Mrs. Wayne Brush and daughter, Jennifer of Salt Lake Then Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Daryle Harris (Christine Sorensen) of Salt Lake visited with the Sorensens. Mrs. Louise M. Lyman and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. S. Bassett traveled to Logan Tuesday to attend the wedding ceremony of Miss Judy Bassett and Mr. John Burgstrum in the Logan Temple. Mrs. Lyman stayed for a longer visit and spent Thanksgiving with relatives and friends there. Mr. and Mrs. John A, Adams, Joan, Gloria and Dennis Anderson spent Friday and Saturday in Salt Lake visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Adams and helping them get settled in their new home. The program Sunday evening was given by college students. Talks given by Paul Swalberg, Paul Barney, Bar-ney, Debra Stoddard, Clyde Bunker and Kristine Hansen. The music was furnished by the Youth Choir. The Hansen family all met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lyman this year to celebrate Thanksgiving Day. Dinner was served to 55 members and visitors; from the BYU and even Canada. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lyman of Eiver-side, Eiver-side, Calif, were in attendance and attended funeral services Saturday for Pamela's grandmother, Mrs. Irene Little in the 3rd Ward. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Miller traveled travel-ed to St. George early Wednesday morning to attend a session in the Hinckley - - - ELAINE HARDY At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Theobald during Thanksgiving weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Blair (Eda) Maxfield and family, Cedar; Mr. and Mrs. Kenith (Grace) Wal-dram Wal-dram and family, Bountiful; Mr. and Mrs. Golden Theobald and family, Las Vegas, Nev.; Mr. and Mrs. Marion (Joyce) Manwell and family, Payson; Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Mer-lin Theobald and family, Placentia, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Elaine) Turner and family, Mr. and Mrs Paul Theobald, Mr. and Mrs. Nyle (Diane Turner) Fisher and son, Salt Lake and Mrs. Judy Tolbert and children. Esther and Lowell Petersen went to Salt Lake for Thanksgiving with their children. Relatives here received word this week that my uncle, Newell Ca-hoon Ca-hoon of Logan has undrgone major surgery at the Logan LDS Hospital. Wesend him get-well wishes. Vera and Heber Bishop went to Payson to be with their son, Lars and wife, Deon and family for Thanksgiving. They stayed on to attend a funeral there. Ted Dennison spent Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing in Cedar with his son DeVon ad family. Jaeve Chapman went to Ogden to spend the day with her children. With the Lee Wilsons for Thanks giving were Lois's sister and husband, hus-band, Lucille and Harold Stephenson Stephen-son of Las Vegas. Rose Shumway and Sharon Western Wes-tern drove to St. George to get Sharon's mother, Lieuwen Shum- temple where Mr. and Mrs. Duane Terry (Joyce Miller) and three daughters, and two other couples of Las Vegas, went thru the temple for the first time. The Millers traveled on to Las Vegas to visit and spend Thanksgiving with the Terry family. They attended the Ice Capades at the Convention Center Saturday evening and had an enjoyabde time looking around and visiting. Mrs. Marion Terry (Duane's mother) was also In Las Vegas to visit and spend some time with her family. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Kimber and family of Taylors ville spent the weekend with their family Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kimber. Miss Sharon Eddy of Richfield, Minn., fiancee of Mr. Kent Kimber, has been visiting here for the past week with the Kimber family. Kent took her to Salt Lake Sunday to to airport to return to her home in Minn. Kent is spending a few days in Salt Lake at the Boyd War-enski War-enski home before returning to Delta. Evan and Olive Western and their children of Dugway to spend Thanksgiving with Evans' father, Alma Western. They had dinner with Sheldon and Sharon and fam ily. Evan's daughter, Ilene, who was with them, teaches school at Blanding and their son, Edward attends Utah State at Logan. Sebrina and George Eklns had all their family here this week, Linda andd David of Provo; Keith and Kathryn Black and three boys of Orem; Jane and Gene and kid dies of Logan. Don and Cherie Morris, Kevin and Jody visited at Cherie's parent's, par-ent's, the Frank Bishops for the holiday. Margaret and Eldon Jenson of Bountiful visited relatives here this week. They came especially for the wdding reception Friday night of a niece, Joan Ashby and Chad Anderson. Leonard Palmer's son, Monte and family were here to see the family and other relatives. Rachel and John Wright of Provo visited their parents, the Rodney Wrights and the Dutsons in Oak City. Belva and Harold Morris and Bertha and George Barton left the first of this week to go to Calif to visit the Morris's son, Eonald and wife, Shirley and two children at San Jose and with Belva and Bertha's Ber-tha's sister, Edna Patterson at Hayward. They will visit other relatives rel-atives in the area, too. John and Emma Lou Harris attended at-tended funeral services in Virgin, Utah, for Earl Bringard, former Deltan. Vicki and Dennis Halsey of Mil-ford Mil-ford came this week and visited at the Eugene Bishop's. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Hale and daughter, Margie visited with the Gale Bennetts Thursday. Sharon Buchanan and children and Bruce James had Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing dinner with the Grant Hardys. The Walter Manis family drove to Phoenix, Ariz, to spend Thanksgiving Thanks-giving with their daughter, Hollie and husband. They returned home Sunday night. The annual Christmas Cantata, presented by the Hinckley Ward Choir, will be Sunday evening, Dec. 21st at 6:30 p.m. in the church. There will be about fifty singers taking part Everyone is invited to come to Hinckley to hear this treat. Zane and Elcee Crafts went to Salt Lake Tuesday of this week on business. Carolyn and Clyde Stevens went to Salt Lake Monday. Clyde is home with his family from his work. Julia and Ferron Bliss and family of Spanish Fork visited with relatives rela-tives here Sunday. Mrs. Fern Hopworth had a number num-ber of her family members Join her for Thanksgiving dinner, Eae and Owen Woolsey and family of Salt Lake; Melvin and Carmen of Cedar; Don and Roma Zeller and two boys of Tooele, Beth Hepworth of Tooele. Mary and Vance Abbott and children chil-dren spent Thanksgiving with Mary's mother, Clara Stewart. Sunday evening, Lincoln Eliason and Ben Eobison, DHS faculty members, representing the Social Science Dept., gave the program. Sherlene and Hal Evans and boys of Idaho came for Thanksgiving Thanks-giving with her folks, the Cluff Talbots. Alice Bliss was in Salt Lake for Thanksgiving with Evelyn and Calvin Cal-vin and family at Midvale. The Wayne Petersens had then-two then-two daughters and families here for the holiday, Karen and Ace Henrickson and children of Las Vegas; Annette and DeLyle Bennett Ben-nett and family of Eupert, Idaho. They all went to Nephi to the home of Thora's sister, Vera Paxman for a family dinner. There were about fifty there for dinner. At Angie Cahoon's for the holiday holi-day was her granddaughter, Jackie Cahoon, Garth's daughter who at- tends BYU. Also visiting Angie this past week was her grandson and wife, Scott and Sherry Nickle of San Francisco. Cindy Simpson of Kamas visited her friend, Cathy Dutson. Cindy's folks have been here also. Sunday Sun-day evening the Simpsons received word that their home in Kamas burned. The Carl Hardys spent Thanksgiving Thanks-giving Day in Holden with Beryl's folks, the Clyde Woods. The Carl Dutson family spent Thanksgiving in Price with Valyn's parents, the Clark Draper family. Judd and Jacquie Hardy and five children of Salt Lake spent the weekend at the Carl Hardy's. Patti Palmer, daughter of the Leonard Palmers is on crutches this week following minor surgery on her feet.
