Show VENICE DAVIS Mr. and Mrs. Lee Boothe visited in Salt Lake over the weekend last week, then Craig Boolhe and his fiancee, Maurine Jensen visited this weekend with their parents and attended church with us. The Primary gave its annual husbands hus-bands party Monday night. All of the officers and teachers and husbands, hus-bands, the bishopric and their wives sat down to a hot turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Their theme "The Xmas Party Line" with minature telephones to each setting. The Stake officers, LaVon Taylor and Clara Parkinson attended. Mr, and Mrs. Elden Shurtz made a trip to Salt Lake Thursday to take Kay Lynn for another operation. opera-tion. She is doing fine and can come home for the Christmas holidays. hol-idays. Dav'd Hales of Philadelphia arrived ar-rived home for the holidays to be with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hales. On Wednesday they are going go-ing to St. George to spend Christmas Christ-mas at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Gubbler. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Ekins and two children of Smithfield visited Thurs day with Mrs. Ekin's grandmother, Mollie Dewsnup. Dennis Cropper who is a student at USU at Logan, is spending the Christmas Holidays with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cropper and brother Rick. Mrs. Myrle Bennett left Saturday for Magna where she will spend the Christmas Holidays with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cahoon and family and Mr. and Mrs. T. Justensen and family. I Mr. James Sampson arrived home Saturday to spend Christmas Holidays Holi-days with his wife Lucile and dau ghters, Shelia and Lorie. James has spent the past month and half at the Veteran's Hospital having surgery sur-gery and treatment on his knee. The Oak City Choir presented their annual Christmas program at the Deseret Ward Chapel Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. It surely gave everyone the true Christmas spirit. The Fanny Powell Cropper, DUP, camp held its Christmas party at the home of Eva Robison Friday afternoon, Dec. 20. The lesson was given by Ines Damron, a story by Vilate Maxfield and a Christmas thought by Myrle Bennett. Christmas Christ-mas Carols were sung by the group. There were sixteen ladies present. I'm sure there will be water next summer if snow makes water. We read In the Deseret News that Noel Twltchell, son of Chlora and Roy Twltchell, sang In the opera "Amul" and did an outstand- ng Job. He has had a part for 4 years, every Christmas. "Congratulations "Congratu-lations Noel." Karl and Eleanor Murray have been busy this fall remodeling their home. It's really nice. They had a trip recently down to Calif., visiting their daughters and their families, Joan in Barstow (Joans husband Charles "Chuck" Sledge got banged up In a motor cycle accident recently) and Marilyn and Jerry Blanch and three girls in Marysvale. They also visited Karl's brother Hugh and fami'y and Raleigh and Peggy Franklin and boys In Colfax, Calif. All I heard express themselves really enjoyed Gene Fullmer's visit to the Scouts in the Stake House Wednesday night. John and I couid not go on account of colds. Sorry his brother, Don met his defeat In Rome last week. He'll have better luck next time if there is a next time. Received an invitation to my nephew, Eric Hogan's son Michael' wedding last week in Centervi'le but colds kept us home. Mrs. Ethel Waters has gone o California to spend the holidays with her son, Bob and family. She stopped in Salt Lake and stayed with the Ladd Fullmers before catching the bus. Mrs. Phyllis Johnson has gone to Moab to care for her first granddaughter, grand-daughter, the new comer came last Sunday to Gary and Jackie Johnson . Ethelbah in the Moab hospital. the captains of the camp, Myrle Bennett, Vilate Maxfield and La Veda Bishop. A delicious luncheon was served by hostesses Inga Black, Celia Christensen, Ines Damron and Eva Robison. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Erickson were in Salt Lake Thursday and Friday for doctor appointments. Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Eliason and family spent Saturday in Salt Lakej where they did some shopping and also visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Parnell Hinckley. Santa will make his annual Christmas eve visit at the Deseret church house Tuesday evening. The children have arranged a very ! nice program to be presented just before Santa's arrival. Everyone is invited to attend. I Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Scow and infant daughter Lisa of Logan arrived ar-rived home Saturday where they will, spend Christmas with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milden Scow and Mrs. Alice Bliss. Milden and I saw our new granddaugher, who was born Dec. 2, for the first time and she is really precious. What a joy it is to be grandparents. Wishing everyone a "Very Merry Christmas."
