Sutherland DORA ROSE Mr. and Mrs. Richard May and family of Fredonia were here over the weekend to visit their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan May, Emalee and Judy and Mrs. Avery Bishop. They also attended the Robison reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Max Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Owen Benson attended the funeral last week of their niece who was killed by a car while crossing the street. The little girl was four years old and the second child of these people to be hit by a car. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Benson have had their little grandson of Calif, to stay with them for awhile. He went to Orem to stay for awhile with another son, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Benson. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rich-ard Benson spent Father's Day with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Benson. Ben-son. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Milo Mortensen and Sydney were their grandchildren and their daughters, Mrs. Connie Mortensen and Miss Julie Mortensen. Julie Mortensen & RaNae Shurtz entertained at a bridal shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Mortensen on Saturday afternoon in honor of Beverly Shurtz. Mrs. John Wind returned from Provo after a week's stay with her children there and in Springvillo. Mrs. Zelda Ogden made a trip to Salt Lake last week. Her daughter Mrs. Ivone Miller left her children here with the Ogdens while she attended classes at Weber State College. Miss Sherrie Mecham of Orem is now staying with Mr. and Mrs. Ogden, also Mrs. Miller and children are with the Ogdens. Mr. and Mrs. Rick Raimondi cf Salt Lake spent the weekend with their folks, 'Mr. and Mrs. Ivo Ogden. Mrs. Dora Rose spent a week in Croyden with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. David Wilde and two children, Paul and Kim. Margo and children came back with Bishop and Mrs. Hepworth to spend Father's Day with her father, Mr. Heber Rose. Carmen and Melvin also spent Fathers' Day with the Roses. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Rose and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Rose of Ogden Og-den spent awhile visiting with the Heber Roses. Wayne's son, Ronnie, rode in the high school rodeo Friday Fri-day and Saturday. Last week the Robisons held their reunion in Sutherland. There were 65 members present, the first time they have all been together. Mrs. Laura Robison of Salt Lake who is the mother of all is 80 years old and gets around so spry and is very active. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Clair Robison and five children of San Jose, Calif., Dr. and Mrs. Ugricht and six children, child-ren, Mr. and Mrs. AlmonRobison and four children, Mr. and Mrs. Kay Ahlstrom, a sister, and ten children all of Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Frances Robison and three children of Kaysville. The Bernard Jacksons and Ben Robisons also attended. at-tended. They spent the afternoon at the reservoir skiing and in the canyon. Mrs. Joyce (Davis) Messinger has 3-Act Play Lead by Harriet Eliacon Joyce Messinger (Mrs. Michael Messinger), who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Verdun J. Davis of Deseret, has one of the four lead roles in "Never Too Late" a three act comedy drama by Sumnar Long sponsored by the Santa Monica Theatre Guild, Inc. at the Morgan Theatre located at 2627 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica. She plays the role of a young, red-haired married daughter daugh-ter whose mother tries to get her to do all the mother's work. In the role of Kate, she wears a beautiful red wig part of the time. The wig was given to Mrs. Messinger by Sax Fifth Avenue. Joyce will play the role of Kate several nights a week all during the month of June. Admission is $2.50 and she plays to a packed house of several hundred persons each performance with all seats' being reserved. Joyce donates her time and all th proceeds from the month of performances goes o charity, ' Joyce and Michael and their two children, Scott, 7; and Eric, 2; reside re-side at 2702 11th Street, Apt. No. 3, Santa Monica, Calif. Joyce met Michael who is an assistant director direc-tor for CBS, when he was shooting the "Alamo" with John Wayne near Fort Worth, Texas, and Joyce was flying there as an airline stewardess for American Airlines. Joyce teaches Primary in her ward and has participated in MIA theatricals. the-atricals. Republicans Hold Successful Meet Millard County's Republican Convention Con-vention held last Friday evening, was termed by many present to be one of the most successful conventions conven-tions evere held. Especially complimentary com-plimentary on the way things were so efficiently aecompolished, was State Executive Director Ray Town send, who with the National Chairwoman Chair-woman Madge Fairbanks, were in attendance representing the Utah Republican Committee. The convention opened with posting post-ing of the colors by Boy Scouts J. Ward Moody, Bart Farnsworth, Mark Erickson and Doug Rynearson from Troop 143. This was followed by the lovely patriotic number, "Oh Lovely Land America" sung by a ladies double trio comprised of Orvetta Nickle, Lenore Gardner, Norda Roper, Kathleen Wankier, Eva Dean Moody, and Donna Lovell Following Invocation by Leo Robins, Millard County Republican Chairman Joseph M. Moody introduced intro-duced Director Townsend who, in turn, introduced each of the state visitors as they spoke briefly to the convention. Diabetic Classes Classes for persons with diabetes, relatives of diabetics and persons caring for diabetics will be held in Delta, June 2G, 1968, at the Delta High School and in Fillmore, June 27, 196S, at the Stake Center (Third Ward). The classes start rt 10:00 a.m. and will finish about 3:00 p.m. The classes are organized by Mary Graff, PHN for Millard County. Coun-ty. Tresa Grueter, R.N., Nursing Consultant in Diabetes, and Lanice Monk, Ph. D., Nutrition Consultant from the Utah Division of Health, Salt Lake City, will be instructors. "Pet Show" Is Hew Addition to Fair Something new has been added to the Millard County Fair program this year. The Fair Board has added a Pet Show for the little people, and has asked the help of the Delta Jay Cees to see it thru. It will be Friday, June 28, at the Fair Grounds. This new activity will be given to all young people in Millard County who love animals the chance to show fair visitors how exciting and fun raising pets can be. The show will be divided into three divisions and some prizes will be given in each division; however, how-ever, the main purpose of this activity will be for showing of pets. The first division will bo for all dugs. They must be on a leash or in a pen if they are small enough. Each contestant will be presented to the audience one at a time by its master and they will be judged by general appearance and any tricks that the dog is able to do. Due to the nature of this show, pedigree will not be taken into consideration. The second division will be for all cats. They will be Judged, according ac-cording to how well kept they look as well as originality in presenting them to the show. The third division is reserved for all other pets, and will include animals such as ducks, turtles, rabbits hamsters, and all other animals except livestock. It will be necessary for each ' of these animals to be penned or caged as may be required. To help in handling the Pet Show the Delta JayCees are asking that all entries be registered before midnight June 25. To register you must put the following information on a postcard or letter: 1. Lewis was a member of an American Amer-ican folk singing group that toured Austria during his 2Vi years of missionary work for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A member of the University Chorale at USU, Lewis is majoring in German and plans to graduate in 1969.
