FIRST WARD AREA NEWS BRIEFS JUDY ANN STONEKING Mr. and Mrs. Seth Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Dwaine Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Higgins returned home last Sunday after vacationing vacation-ing in Las Vegas for four days. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Winsor spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Heber City attending the Fireman's Convention. Mrs. Joyce Jones and Miss Bobbi Stoneking of Hawthorne, Calif, are here to visit two weeks with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph L Stone- king. Carol Ann Pratt spent the week end visiting with Madge Christen- sen and family. Visiting wilh Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Ashby Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ashbv and Mr. Ashby's sister, Nav, of Calif. Mr. and Mrs. George Bliss of Eureka visited with Judy and Todd Stoneking Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Winsor had all of their family together for the first time in fourteen years with the exception of one son-in-law and two grandchildren for the wedding wed-ding of Maribah Ann. They were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Stewart and nine children of Hunt, Idaho; Mrs. Clarabeth Welch and three children of Santa Cruz, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Winsor and two children of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Winsor and family, Delta. Other guests of the Winsors here for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Stevenson, Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Earl and Miss Madeline Stevenson all of Kalamazoo, Mich. Wednes-day. She is recovering from surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Nielson received re-ceived word of a new grandson, born Sunday to Kent and Mary Alice Nielson of Murray. The new baby boy has three brothers and three sisters to welcome him home. Visiting in Salt Lake last week with her children was Lucille Nielson Niel-son and daughter, distal Sagers. While there they had a family reunion at the home of Tony and Karen Mork. At the homo of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Nielson over the weekend was their son, Joe and family and daughter, Donna Haycock o Salt Lake. The Van Wagoner family consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Van Wagoner, parents and Mr. and Mrs. John Van Wagoner were there also, and aunt Mrs. James Mathews, Ruth Jensen, and Rawlene Gubler attended the wedding ceremony. After the ceremony, cere-mony, the family was served a buffet buf-fet luncheon at the Riding home. The reception in honor of Carol Ann and David was well attended. The cultural hall was beautifully decorated in pink. Background music was played with tape recordings. re-cordings. The program was short consisting of a piano solo by Mrs. John Van Wagoner. Marie Merrill City attended a post masters convention con-vention in Cedar Wednesday, Thurs day and Friday, where June Black acted as master of ceremonies at the banquet. Friday they drove to St. George where they visited wilh Mr. Black's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Shirl Black and family and Mr. and Mrs Jay Nelson. While in Cedar they visited with Mr. Fred Adams and he gave them an introduction to the Shakespeare plays to be presented at CSU. They had an interesting in-teresting and fine trip. They returned re-turned home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Robison and family of Orem visited Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs, June Black and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Robison. Clair Baldwin and children of Sun Valley, Idaho have been spending a week at the home of Caryl's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Van Bishop. Ruth Bishop returned to Idaho with them for a few days visit. She then went to Idaho Falls to spend some time with Mr. and Mrs. Duane and children of Salt Lake were visitors at the home of their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Overson. Thursday, June 13, we received a phone call from Don, telling us that we had a 9 lb. 8 oz. granddaughter. grand-daughter. Now this was wonderful news. We had five grandsons so you can imagine how happy we were. 1 went to Bountiful Thursday Thurs-day and helped take care of Grant and Wayne while Lois was in the hospital. Sunday Lawrence and grandmother, Margaret Bradfield of Leamington and Lois' mother, Clair Peterson of Oasis came up to see the new baby, which they named June. I came home with them. We went to Granlsville and had Father's Day dinner with Jay and family. I hope all fathers had a wonderful wonder-ful Day. The program in Sacrament meeting meet-ing was furnished by Ned Church (Dorothy Bishop) Griffin and son, Darren. Ruth returned home Friday. Mr. Anthony Stephenson has gone to Brigham City for a visit with his daughters, Ellen Siggard and Mrs. Ina. Larsen. Mrs. Joan Ball Beck and two daughters, Julie and Jackee of Tempe, Ariz, and Joan's sister, Miss Paulette Ball, a student at beauty college in Tempe, spent Monday and Tuesday with their aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Robison and family. fam-ily. Mrs. Verdella Adams and daughter, daugh-ter, Gloria, spent the week in Provo and attended Education Week at the BYU. They stayed with Miss Carol Adams, a student at BYU. Mr. Leland Rowser was a weekend week-end visitor at the Wayne Sorenson homo, visiting with Suzanne after his Camp Williams Guard Duty. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Miller of Provo were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Miller Thursday. of Delta. He gave a talk and his daughter, Marsha sang a solo accompanied ac-companied by Carolyn Nickle. Happy birthday to Hattie Anderson Ander-son of U'amington (June 12). Mr. and Mrs. Lucille Overson took Hat-tie Hat-tie with them to Holder where they visited wilh Arlene Christen-sen Christen-sen and famiiy. Thursday Jeanette Schaub and son, Gordon of Ely, Nev. visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Overson. They had been to Provo to the BYU Education week. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Overson Sunday were their sons, Keith of Provo and Ralph and family of Bountiful. Mrs. Essie Anderson Crouch of Orem has been 111 for a long time. She is out of the hospital at present. pre-sent. Her daughter, Lucille Overson and sister, Hattie Anderson spent Friday and Saturday with her. Mr. and Mrs. Selar Hutchings of Ogden visited with the Vivian Deardens Tuesday evening. Mrs. Hutchings stayed for a longer visit but Mr. Hutchings returned to Ogden. Master Clay Christensen of Bount iful is spending his summer vaca tion with his grandmother, Edna Christensen and with his cousins, the children of Phil and Beverly Eliason. Miss Carolyn Christensen of Too ele accompanied her mother, Edna Christensen to Cedar where they attended the Postmasters' convention conven-tion Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cahoon re turned on Wednesday to their home in Las Vegas after having spent the past several days with Blaine's mother, Myrle Bennett. They also visited at Tooele with Burton Cahoon Ca-hoon and family and in Magna with LaPreal Justensen and family. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Johnson and their grandson, Ken, of Holden visited Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewsnup. Mr. and Mrs. Garold Damron and sons of Salt Lake spent the week end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Damron. Mr. Reed Millerburg of Salt Lake was a weekend guest of Jim Mace. Mrs. Fern Warner returned home Friday after having spent the past three weeks at Ogden and Salt Lake with her sons, Melvin and Jay and their families.- Deseret Ward and Oasis Ward bishopric took several car loads of our youth to Manti where they did "Baplisimal for Dead" at the Manti Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Humphries and children of Salt Lake spent Saturday and Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Rowley. The program in Sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday evening was put on by the Doyie Mace family. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Webb spent Sunday at -Midway with Lee and Oneta Ivers. While there, their grandson, Charley Moffitt fell and hurt his knee and leg real bad and was rushed to the hospital in Sait Lake where surgery was required. re-quired. Mr. and Mrs. Milden Scow and Mrs. Thirza Webb went to Salt Lake Thursday where Milden had an appointment with liis doctor. Mr. and Mrs. Gill Dutson have moved home from Logan. They will spend the summer here and Gill will help his father with the bees. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bennett spent Friday in Salt Lake and visited their son-in-law who is back in the hospital in serious condition. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bennett on Father's Day were Arch and Eddys Barben of Delta, Mr. and Mrs. LaMont Bennett and famiiy of Richfield and they had a telephone call from "ic'r r!"
