We need all the moisture we can Ret but not the cold weather we arc having. Milden Scow was operated on Saturday morning and the doctor gave thorn the first encouragement they have had. We are all hoping and praying the news will continue to be encouraging. Arprilla came home Tuesday night and returned to Salt Lake Friday morning. Eva Robison accompanied her to visit with her children in that area. However the news isn't so good concerning Oral Black. He is gravely grave-ly ill with pneumonia in the St. Marks Hospital. Paul Petersen spent the weekend visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Petersen. Fern Warner returned home Mon day night after spending ten days with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Warner in Orem. Vernell Baker had a nice visit in Calif, with her daughter, Belva, and family. Belva came the Saturday Sat-urday before Easter to take her mother to Calif. Vernell also visited a brother there. She spent the week and returned home Monday. Mrs. Edna Torrens, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Torrens and children and Mrs. Eva Robison visited in Ruth, Nov Mnnrlnv with Mr. and Mrs. Marion Crafts and Mr. and Mrs.! Dale Crafts. Douglas and family left Tuesday for Provo to spend a few days before returning to their home in Longmont, Colo. I forgot to mention that Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Western received word of a new granddaughter. A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Western in Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Talbot spent Easter here. All the Wells Robison family enjoyed an outing at the sand dunes. Ines Damron relumed home with Clinton Roper family when they returned to their home in Kaysville after Easter. Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Bennett attended at-tended the funeral in Calif, for their son-in-law, Max Bishop. Max's wife, Lola Bennett Bishop, died thirteen months ago. Fern Warner and her brothers, Lee and Vivian and their wives of Garrison attended funeral services in Fillmore Wednesday for their cousin. Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Black returned return-ed home Wednesday from a stay at their ranch. Inga said it was pretty cold there. Phil Christensen left Wednesday to stay a day or two in Bountiful with Mr. and Mrs. Sheledon Christensen Chris-tensen before leaving for Fort Ord, Calif. Carolyn Christensen visited her mother, Edna Christensen and sister, Beverly Eliason and family Wednesday and Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bennett returned home Tuesday from a week's vacation at Pedersen's Warm Springs In Nov. They were met there by their son, LaMont and family of Richfield and Mr. and Mrs. Archie Barben of Delta. They spent Saturday evening in Las Vegas where they saw a show and many other interesting attractions attrac-tions there. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Damron have done quite a bit of visiting around also. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Cropper and children and Kathy Moody left on a trip Thursday. They spent Thursday night in Las Vegas then went on to Monterey, Calif, to visit with the Clyde Waller family. Bertrice Erickson spent Friday in Salt Lake keeping a doctor's appointment. ap-pointment. Garden Ciub was held at the home of Edna Christensen Friday evening. Thirteen ladies, members and guests enjoyed an evening of fun, games and prizes. Prizes were won by Bernice Western, Norma Moody and Nora Cropper. An Eas ter hat was presented to all present. pres-ent. Gifts were given to the out going officers, Beverly Eliason, Edna Christensen, Gertrude Western Wes-tern and Cleo Eliason. The MIA boys and girls under the direction of the Bishopric and Martha Mace cleaned the church grounds and building Saturday. A fireside meeting was held Saturday Sat-urday evening in the chapel for all MIA members of the Deseret, Hinckley and Oasis wards. Two ladies of Bountiful presented pictures, pic-tures, narration and songs. It was a wonderful program but very poorly attended, which was a shame after they had come to far to share it with us. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ivers and son, Charley Moffett, visited at the J. M. Webb home and attended Sunday Sun-day School. They live n Midway. Mrs. Jackie Black and daughter, Nancy Fowles, spent Saturday in Salt Lake. They visited with Milden Mil-den Scow. Jackie says Milden looks good and is in good spirits. School boys home to spend the weekend were Jim Mace, son of M. andd Mrs. Doyle Mace, Jay War-nick, War-nick, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Van Warnick, and Bob Allred, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orin Allred.. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Fairchiid of Midvale, Idaho spent a few days here looking after farming interests The Primary Family Hour was the program for Sacrament meeting. meet-ing. It was a very nice program with every child taking part. Stake visitor was President La Von Taylor. Ormus Dutson left Monday for Calif, to look after his begs. He is lucky to have a reason to leave this cold country. Dennis and Lee Slratton and wives were down from Ogden to spend Sunday with their grandmother, grand-mother, Vilate Maxfield. Arprilla Scow and Eva Robison returned home Sunday night. Arprilla Ar-prilla will be here till Wednesday morning. Milden is due for more surgery then. Iiiil Conk spent a few days from his work at Dugway to come home to do some farming. Mr. and Mrs. Orval Joseph and family of Lone Pine, Calif, stopped to visit friends. They were enroute SUTHERLAND DORA ROSE Visiting at the Clemont Bennett homo for the spring vacation were Lyman Overr.on, Mr. and Mrs. Ken (Trudie) LaChemonant and girls of Glendale, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. War ren Overcon and family of Kearns, Ida Overson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Montoya and Vickie. Mr. and Mrs. Michael "homas of Salt Lake were here Saturday o visit with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Thurmon Moody and family and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas. Mrs. John Wind just returned home from Provo where she has ben visiting for the past week with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Wind, Mr. and Mrs. Auer Jensen and boys, Gary and Allen in Spring ville and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wind and family. Miss Sharrie Steele is home visiting visit-ing with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Steele. Mr. and Mrs. Reid Tippetts, Mr. and Mrs, Lester Johnson and their daughter, Betsy, spent Sunday in Calieo. Also to accompany Mr. and' Mrs. Tippetts were Mr. P.ulon Jones : and RhoAnne Johnson. There were' 27 members of the Calieo ward, present at the meeting. Congratulations to Miss Denys Schena, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. i Neno Schena; Lee Tippetts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reid Tippetts; Walter John Hales, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hales; and to Michael Rose, son of Mr. .and Mrs. Heber Rose, for being on the honor roll last quarter. Lee Tippetts and Walter Hales were on the honor roll the last two quarters. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Penrod of Orem visited in Delta with their sisters, Mrs. Frances Bohn and Mr. and Mrs. Heber Rose and Peggy. Mrs. Nina Johnson and Mrs. Dora Rose made a trip to Manti where they did some temple work and Nina attended a family meeting for genealogical work. Miss Kathv Edwards of Provo, Mr. Wayne Edwards of Logan were here for their mother's birthday. Also to visit the Edwards were Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Forbish and family of Monroe, brother of Feri- lyn's, and her father, Mr. Forbish of Salt Lake. Mrs. Edward's daughter, Lynette, planned a birthday party for her mother on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Barry Burton hadi relatives visit them last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Steele re-! turned from their winter trip: last week. They stopped in Los Angeles to see their daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Dastrup (Earlene) and family and Sharrie. They went to Mont-, gomery, Ala., to stay with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Don Frazier (Elma) and children at the Maxwell Max-well Air Force Base, where they spent the winter. Mr. Steele went to the Gulf of Mexico several times fishing. They traveled down thru Florida from the Pacific Coast to the Atlantic Coast to Jacksonville, Fla., to Macon, Ga., I where Elma and Don lived earlier. The Steeles took a tvo weeks tour thru Kentucky and Dayton, Ohio, where they were successful m gathering geneaology. In Kentucky they were able to contact people they had never seen before but had corresponded with for many years. They did much research work in Columbus, Ohio at the State Library, also in Birmingham, Ala. They visited a niece of Mr. Steele's, Aza Prestwich, in Florida. They also visited in Panama City, Fla. They found t,he graves of Mrs. Steele's great grandfather in the cemetery at Cynthiana, Kentucky. There they visited a little church which contained inside a little old potbellied stove and many old features and furnishings. The marker mar-ker had been knocked over but on cleaning off the broken pieces they discovered they were those of her great grandfather. They enjoyed every minute of their trip. The Primary gave the program Sunday night. Thirty children participated par-ticipated with individual parts. The Stake visitor was Mrs. Karol Parkinson Par-kinson of Delta. The theme of the program was Reverence. ( Mrs. Callie Morrison has been in the horpital at Delta for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Young went to Holden . and picked up Mrs. Young's mother, Ada Grant, then traveled on to Phoenix, Ariz, and visited many places of interest returning re-turning home Sunday evening, Apr. 14th. Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Dearden had Dr. and Mrs. Mohr and family of Salt Lake visit them during Easter. Mr. and Mrs. James Dearden returned re-turned to the valley after spending the winter traveling through the Southern States. They spent one night herethen on to Salt Lake the next morning. Mr. Alex Doutre of Hinckley was here on business recently. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Whitlock motor ed to Mayfield Wednesday, 10th, to be with Lee's father while he underwent surgery. Mrs. Whitlock stayed until Tuesday, 16th when Lee returned and brought her back to Garrison. They report his father Is recovering very nicely. Mrs. Leona Rowley stopped on her way thru to Eureka, Nevada. . Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Smith visit In Ely, Sunday with his brother, Grant, who is in the hospital there. Nell Swallow of Pasadena, Calif, is.-, visiting here with her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Smith. Mrs. LaRue Rowley and Mrs. Ruby Smith went to Nephi Saturday, Satur-day, 13th to see the doctor. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Richardson were . in Cedar on business Saturday. Satur-day. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Heckethorn and boys visited in Baker with the Emerson Gonders, then motored on to Garrison and visited with the Bud Richardsons Wednesday evening. eve-ning. , Mr. and Mrs. Chester Wheeler attended at-tended the ground breaking at Delta for Brush Beryllium. Deputy Sheriff Earl Richardson was also in attendance with other county officials. Deputy Richardson delivered n parolee violator into Delta Wednesday Wed-nesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Dearden and Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Dearden attended at-tended the funeral for Everett Ashman in Fillmore. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Osborne visited visit-ed in Ely Friday with his mother, Mrs. Frank Calliep. Mr. and Mrs. Chub Richardsoa and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dodge at- Monday. ... A. mixed . double quartet at the invitation of Mr. David Gorbet of Eureka performed at Eureka Ward Sunday.- The quartet consisted of LaVar Owens, Glen Rawlinson, Ben Robison, Leon Smith, Hazel Walker, Shirley Schena, Eleanor Murray and Dora Rose. Mrs. Manon Robison Robi-son and Karl Murray accompanied them and Mrs. Rayda Rawlinson was their accompanist. Mr. Gorbet is a counselor in the bishopric and is the brother of Shirley Schena. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barton, the former Mae Reid, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Reid, visited with their aunt, Mrs. Fern Foote, last week.
