Show Millard County Chronicle LEAMINGTON WANDA NIELSON Gordon Lovell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jernld Lovell Is home from Vietnam. Very glad to have him home safe and sound. Mr. nnd Mrs. Rolf Robison and family of Provo visited with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bradfield and family fam-ily last week. Mrs. Dean (Mabel) Harder has been in Missouri with her father, who had a heart attack. He is feeling feel-ing some better but is still confined to his bed for awhile longer. Mrs.' Lornu Melntyre and girls, Marianne, Betty Ann and Kathy went to Salt Lake last Thursday 'o spend the day with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Melntyre and also to celebrate Mrs. Mclntyre's birthday. Marianne has been here for the past week visiting with her mother and sisters during spring vacation. She is attending at-tending college In Nevada. Mrs. Ruth Hnlinson Is in Salt Lake visiting with her sisters and helping her sister, Ruby, with her husband, who is very ill. Miss Shawna Shepherd of Ogden visited over the Easter weekend with her nunt, Klee Flinlinson, Rich and family. Mrs. Merl Young and family of Sunset visited with parents, Oxel and Maude Johnson last Monday. Also Mr. Bill Jorgensen visited with them last Saturday. Bishop and Mrs. Rulon Dutson, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Hansen and children and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barton and family of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Dutson and family of Granger went to Calif, last Wednesday evening and saw Disneyland and other attractions and also visited with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn (Maurine) Clements and family and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Grygla visited in town last Sunday with Mrs. Hattie Andereson also Rosalie Banks and family, Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anderson and family of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Larson and family of Salt Lake visited with mother, Myrtle Nielson last weekend. week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Will Lovell and family and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lowry and baby of Tooele and Mr. Austin Willden and parents visited with Bud and Margaret McCann and girls last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Nielson went to Carson City, Nev. and visit ed with Mr. and Mrs. Neil Larson (Janice) and family last weekend. David Nielson came down from Logan over the weekend also Allen and Stephen were home from school. Mr. Dick Nielson and girls went to Salt Lake Sunday and met Norma, Karla, Dee Ann and friend and had a very nice Easter Sunday together. Norma is finishing her college quarter in Logan and will graduate this spring. Also Dee Ann will graduate gra-duate from nursing school. Visiting last week with Mrs. Ida Overson and family were brother, Elden Johnson of Nephi and Jay Bennett of Sutherland. A new family has moved into Stanley Bradfield's home. Wish all the empty houses could be rented. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Bridfield and boys visited with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Randall Bradfield Friday and Saturday. She has asked me to pinch hit for awhile. Some of this news may be a little old but still maybe of interest to some of our former hometown people. Oral Black has been in Salt Lake for quite some time receiving treatments. He seems to be getting a lettle better. His wife, Charlotte, is there with him. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Coleman of Los Angeles visited with the Jim Sampson family on their way to conference. Garden Ciub meeting was held at the home of Fay Davis, April j. Harriet Eliason entertained the members with movies, slides and souvenirs of her recent trip to Hawaii. Ha-waii. It was very interesting. Refreshments Re-freshments were served by the hos tess. Members present were Fay Davis, Nora Cropper, Lucile Hales, Edna Christensen, Beverly Eliason, Bertrice Erickson, Gertrude Western, Wes-tern, and Cleo Eliason. Phil Christensen arrived home April 4 for a two week leave from the Army, after which he will return re-turn to Fort Ord, Calif. He will receive re-ceive his discharge in June. Bruce Petersen has been home recently to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Petersen. Janice Petersen Jackson and two small daughters are now in Salt .Lake after visiting several weeks with her parents. Aletha Dewsnup and children cf Bountiful spent Friday night in Deseret. Col. James C. Waliler and family of Monterey, Calif, spent the past week visiting Maxine's parents Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Cropper and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Humphries of Reseda, Calif, visited three days with Louis Schoenberger. Edna Christensen and son, Phil visited in Bountiful Saturday and Sunday with the Sheldon Christensen Christen-sen family. They also visited Carolyn Caro-lyn in Tooele. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Western and children spent several days visiting with Wayne's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Western. Wayne made a trip to St. Louis and back. While he was gone Kathy visited friends in Provo. Visiting recently with Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Cropper, Mr. and Mrs. Cuman Cropper, and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cropper were Neva Cropper and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Dorton of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Conk of Kearns have been down looking after their farming interests. Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Black are spending some Mme at their ranch. Dean Black and girls, Audry and Unda visited them on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Veil Black of Tooele were there also. Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Allred visited from Thursday until Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Allred. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewsnup are taking care of the store while Mil- den and Arprilla are In Salt Luke. Arprilla came down Tuesday to see how they were getting along. She returned to Salt Lake Wednesday. Friday, Darrell and Alice Gaye brought Arprilla home. They all returned re-turned to Salt Lake Sunday afternoon. after-noon. Also visiting with Milden Sunday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewsnup and Mr. and Mrs. Ormus Dutson. Matt and Louise Cropper went to Las Vegas Tuesday tu visit Mr. and Mrs. Mnrlow Cropper. They came back Friday and brought their grandchildren, Karen and Kelly to visit In Deseret a few days. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Bond of Meadow Mea-dow visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Cuman Cropper. We had mny visitors in town for Easter. At the Faun Western home were Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Western and daughter of Midvale and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Western of Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Torrens and two small children were here from Thursday until Tuesday visiting visit-ing parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Torrens. Doug and family live in Longmont, Colorado. Max and Ann Jensen visited with Mr. and Mrs. Axel Jensen. They live in Granger. Marilyn Mace of Ogden visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Mace. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Roper and five boys of Kaysville were weekend week-end visitors at the home of Ines Damron. All these visitors increased the attendance at Sunday School, where a very nice Easter program was presented by the Junior and Senior Sunday Schools. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Larsen and boys of Hinckley attended Sunday School here too. Paul Dewsnup visited in Deseret Sunday. Paul is still with the Air Force. Max Eliason and family stopped in Deseret on their way home to Anaheim, Calif, after attending conference. They and Max's three brothers, Eldon, Lincoln and Phil and families had an Easter outing at the sand dunes Friday. Saturday Max and family left for Calif. We had a real rain storm Friday night. We received .41 inches of rain, which is a big storm for this part of the country. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bennett left Tuesday on a trip to St. George and other places. Myrle Bennett visited in Magna with her daughters, LaPreal and family. Mrs. Fern Warner went to Orem Monday to spend some time with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Warner. Angie had sur gery on Thursday. Norma Moody is home again after spending several weeks with relatives in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Gubler were down from Salt Lake to spend Saturday with Rawlene's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hales. A new cemetery committee has been chosen. They are Eldon Erickson, Erick-son, Jerold Bennett and Doyle Mace. I believe that Eldon will De care taker at the cemetery and also the town water master. Mrs. Georgetta Peterson recently returned from a trip to Calif, to visit with her daughter, Shirlene and family. Mr. Parnell Hinckley of Salt Lake spent a day or two visiting with the Lincoln Eliason family. The Eliason family went to Salt Lake on Sunday. They all came back that day except Cleo and three children, Julie, Preston and Maria. Tuesday Grandpa Hinckley brought them home. Natalie Bennett's mother, Mrs Nathan Haie of Grantsville came;the Cari Hardys this week Monday to help with the family while Natalie has been ill. Bishop and Mrs. Tom (Verla) Williams and their family of Vernal Ver-nal were holiday visitors at Verla's parents, the Ivan Wrights. The Eugene Morris family left Friday morning for an Easter outing out-ing around Cedar. Mrs. Golda Talbot and son, Jim, left last Thursday for Delta, Colo, to visit vith Dale and Ila Little and family. They returned Sunday. Vera and Heber Bishop went with their son, Jay and wife, LaRue of Fontana, Calif, and visited with their five children and families n Bountiful and Lars and family in Payson. They also visited with their grandson, Jack, son of Arlene and Arnold Hecker of EI Cajon, Calif., who was Just returning from his mission in the North Central States. Jay and LaRue were up to attend conference. Jack returned home with them. Heber had a checkup with his doctor and the doctor was well pleased with the recovery Heber has made from his recent illness. her husband and son. Thursday evening the Deseret Rook Club met at the home of Jackie Black. Present were Lucile Sampson, Lucile Hales, Delores Ogden, MarGenne Rowley, Carole Warnick, Bessie Webb, Jackie Black and guests Luella Western and Dora Black. Jay Warnick was home visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Van Warnick, War-nick, from school at Cedar. With him was his fiancee Aleen Adair of New Mexico. She is attending Dixie College. Mr. and Mrs. George Schmutz came from St. George and picked up their daughter, Elaine Moody and her son, Darren. They went U ; Logan to visit another daughter and family, returning to Deseret. Sunday afternoon. High Councilman Reese Finlin-son Finlin-son visited our ward Sunday and brought the program for Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting. Speakers were Barry Anderson and Reece Finlinson. A piano duet was played by Marie Finlinson and Kathy Nielson and a piano solo by Marie Finlinson. Visitors to Sacrament meeting were Nancy Fowles and son of Sutherland, Suther-land, Laurel Millman of Kaysville, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Torrens and two children and Diane Larsen and two boys of Hinckley. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Webb spent Easter Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Taylor in Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cropper spent from Thursday until Saturday Satur-day visiting in Las Vegeas. Their son Dennis was home from school to spend the weekend with his parents and brother, Rick. Josephine Reeve and a life-long friend, Giace Root, a retired nurse, of Sait Lake visited here this week Sheldon Western and three boys spent a day in Logan last week. The Sheldon Western family celebrated Easter by going to Provo and enjoyed dinner there. Floyd Taylor and family cme and took his mother, Reva Taylor Eas-tering Eas-tering with them for the day. Mr. and Mrs. Meron Peterson went to Salt Lake to attend the Lawrence Welk Show at the Tabernacle Taber-nacle and to visit with their girls, Myrna, Ruth and Merodean. Mr and Mrs. Bud Richardson of Garrison visited with the Karl Workmans Wednesday evening. Sterling and Lorna Jacobson of Provo were overnight guests of the Karl Workmans Wednesday. Sterling Ster-ling is Arvilla's brother. Darrell and Alice Gaye Scow visited Alice Bliss for a few days. Ward Farm Cleanup will be held this Saturday. All ward men are urged to help. Dinner will be served by the Relief Society at noon. Pat Cox returned to his home in Calif, after visiting the Dale Bliss family and his grandmoher, Alice Bliss. Jim and Doreen Meinburg and children of Salt Lake visited relatives rela-tives here this week. Mrs. Dorothy Damron and three children drove to Salt Lake Thurs- day morning. The Keith Black family of Orem visited this week with the George Ekins. David was also home, Ronald and Shirley Morris and daughter visited here Wednesday evening on their way back to Provo Pro-vo from Calif. Sharon Buchanan and family came down to spend Easter vacation vaca-tion with the Grant Hardys, Thursday. Thurs-day. They went back toSalt Lake Saturday. Sharilyn returned with them. They enjoyed a day at Lagoon; La-goon; then Sharilyn returned home by train Monday. Alice Bliss drove to Provo Friday morning on business and to visit. At Spanish Fork she saw Willard and Bessie Hardy. Thursday evening a newly formed form-ed club met at the home of Mrs. Kathy Cropper. Members are, Chris Cropper, Judy Webb, Barbara Call-ister, Call-ister, Marilyn Clayton, Margaret Taylor, Venice Bishop, Jayce Moody Jane Stanworth, Kathy Cropper, Connie Cropper, Pat Stanworth, Joan Wright, Marilyn Willden. Guests were Elcee Crafts, Diane Larson and Bonnie Nielson. Sherry and Leon Lewis and three children of Salt Lake were visitors at the Wesley Morris home this week. Arthur Reeve came down from Salt Lake Thursday. From here he went to Fillmore to see his son, Tom and family. Varla and Elwin Wright and children visited the Rodney Wrights this weekend. The Ted Dennisons had some "f their children on the weekend, Theo and family and Dorene. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Ekins and son visited their parents, the Walt Ekins and the Floyd Creeners over the Easter vacation. Lawanna and Jack Davis and their children, Jackie, Diane and Gregory, of Tooele have been visiting visit-ing Lawanna's parents, the Karl Workmans. They celebrated Diane's birthday Sunday. Jack and Lawanna Lawan-na have won several trophies in the Eagles and State Trap Shoot meets recently. Jack is president of the Tooeie Gun Club. The Tooele Future Farmers of America honored Jack at their annual banquet. They presented him with a beautiful engraved en-graved plaque and honorary membership mem-bership in the organization. Mrs. Elva Skeem and small child ren came home from Idaho for the holiday this week. Ward Conference will be held this Sunday. Bertha and George Barton of Midvale spent Saturday here for an Easter trip. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Talbot spent a few days at Las Vegas to see their sons, Mike, his wife and son; Stephen, Doreen and four children. Mrs. Grace Hiatt and children of Salt Lake and Carmen and Melvin Hepworth of Cedar visited Mrs. Fern Hepworth Saturday. Joyce and Marion Manwell and family of Provo spent Easter with the Carl Theobalds. Carl and La Verne Theobald spent a few days at St. George and Mes-quite, Mes-quite, Nev. on business. On their way, they were parked at Santa Clara and they met their son, Goldie and family of Las Vegas accidentally, ac-cidentally, who were on their way to Enterprise to spend Easter.
