Saturday they visited in Provo with their son, Keith. Alpha Nielson's MIA class, the Laurels, had a muffin and salad party at her home last Tuesday night. Mr. anl Mrs. Lowell Wilkins received re-ceived word Saturday that their son-in-law, Junior Baird of Richfield Rich-field had broken his foot. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Rowley and family went to St. George to attend at-tend a funeral for Mar Genne's aunt. Wally Western, who is in the U.S. Navy and his wife are at the home of Wally's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Faun Western. He had a two weeks furlough. Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Black returned home Thursday after having spent the past two weeks on a vacation in Ariz. They met Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Kelly of Calif, at Topoca. Ariz, where they enjoyed fishing , at "Cat Fish Paradise". Other members mem-bers of the party were Mr. and Mrs. I Nels Black of American Fork and Mr. LaVon Black of Calif, j Lucile Sampson was hostess to the Deseret Rook Club at her home Thursday evening. A delicious ,luncheon was served and the evo- ning was spent in playing Rook. Members present were Carole War-nick, War-nick, Jackie Black, Delores Ogden, ,Elaine Moody, Bessie Webb, Arpril-,1a Arpril-,1a Scow, Lucile Sampson. Guests I were Donna Sagers and Olive All- red. Larry and Linda Browers and three sons of Salt Lake called on their folks, Cuman and Maesa Cropper Thursday. They were on their way to Las Vegas where they were taking a new car. They returned re-turned Monday. Darrel and Alice Gaye Scow of Logan spent the weekend with their parents, ,Mr. and Mrs. Milden Scow and Mrs. Alice Bliss. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wade and children of Salt Lake visited Saturday Satur-day and Sunday with Mrs. Wade's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Peterson. Peter-son. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Warner, son Glen and daughter, Janet, of Ogden spent the weekend with Melvin's mother, Mrs. Fern Warner. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Western and daughter of Midvale, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Western and family of Sandy spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Faun Western. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewsnup spent Saturday at Flowell with Ulala and Bill Mace. At the home of Verdon and Fay Davis over the weekend were some of their children, Richard and Jo Ann Workman and children of Salt Lake; Morgan and Shirley Jensen and son and daughter of Cedar. The Deseret Garden Club met Friday evening at the home of Ber-trice Ber-trice Erickson. Members present were Edna Christensen, Beverly Eliason, Cleo Eliason, Bernice Western, Wes-tern, Gertrude Western, Bertrice Erickson, Lou Larsen, Nora Cropper. Congratulations to the Delta High Basketball team and to Coach Myers on the fine playing during the Round Robin at Fillmore. We are real proud of them all. There was a large number of townspeople who attended the games from Deseret. Mr. and Mrs. Cuman Jay Cropper and son, David, went to Salt Lake Friday where they attended a surprise sur-prise birthday party in honor of Linda's twin sisters. Mrs. Lundburg and daughter.1 Maree, and son, Terry, of Rosse- his family. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Overson have moved back to Lynndyl. They have been living in Pleasant Grove this winter. Leona Potts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Potts, was home over the weekend from Hill Field where she is employed. Last Wednesday evening the citizens of Lynndyl, Leamington, and Oak City met with the people from the telephone company. Many people attended the region al basketball games in Fillmore the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nelson went all three nights. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Greathouse went Thursday and Saturday night also many more from here. We are very proud of our basketball team and wish them success when they go to State next week. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bradfield and boys of Grantsville came down Saturday to see their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield and also to celebrate Jay's and his grandmother's birthdays. A big dinner was served at Grandmother Margaret Bradfield's home in Learn ington. They had a birthday cake with 105 candles on it. College kids I saw home over the weekend were Wendell Nielson Craig Greathouse of Weber and Jim Nielson of Provo. Jim had his cousin, John Ashby, ,son of Mr. and Mrs. George Ashby of Provo with AHPRILLA SCOW velt spent Saturday and Sunday with her daughter, Linda Cropper and family. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Bond of Salt Lake visited Sunday at the home of Cumn and Maesa Cropper. David Hales of Philadelphia and Stanley Hales of St. George both were home for their sister, Raw-leno's Raw-leno's wedding Saturday. Mrs. Fern Crafts of Granger and son Terry of Logan spent the week end at the home of Ralph and Elnnche Crafts r.nd Arlyn Crafts. Miss Rawlene Hales, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hales of Deseret and Mr. Maurice Gubler of St. George were honored at a wedding reception Saturday evening at the Deseret Ward Cultural Hall. It was a very lovely affair and we extend sincere congratulations to the new-lyweds. new-lyweds. Verle and Marilyn Black and son of Tooele spent Saturday and Sunday Sun-day with Verle's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Black. We send "Get Well" wishes to Juna L. Dutson who is in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake following an accident Saturday evening at Delta. Mrs. Fern Warner left Monday for Orem where she will visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claude Warner and in Salt Lake with son, Jay and family and in Ogden with son Melvin Mel-vin and family. She expects to be gone several days. John Western, son of Mr. and Mrs. Faun Western, has just been promoted to Specialist Five. John has been at Camp Enari, Vietnam since October, 1967. In Sacrament meeting Sunday the baby daughter of Dave and Paula Hans was given a name and blessing, by her grandfather, Bill Simpson, assisted by great-grandfather, Leland Roper of Oak City. LEON Speaks Vows In Salt Lake Miss Barbara Lee Hobson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Robson of Delta, became the bride of Mr. Leon W. Mahlum, Feb. 24 ia the St. Francis Xavier Church in Taylorsville. Mr. Mahlum is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Burton O. Mahlum ot Taylorsville. The bride was radiant in her floor length gown of white silk crepe that was lavishly trimmed with chantilly lace. The lace train fell from her shoulders and was edged in silk crepe. Her veil of sheer illusion was held in place by a pillbox of silk crepe. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations. FIRE ARTS GUILD TO SPONSOR ART EXHIBIT On March 7, at 4:15 in the Little Theatre of the High School, the Fine Arts Guild will sponsor an art exhibit. Michael J. Clarice, will be the guest for the day and will give a demonstration on how he teaches "art" by telephone. This should be an interesting exhibit. Michael J. Clarke is an outstanding art instructor, in-structor, having received his Bachelors Bach-elors degree from U.S.U. and is now working on his Masters' degree.
