YULE LOG COOKIES 100 cookies r'M cutK 'v.ittr or margarine ',4 cup plus 1 tablespoon prr'tui la-ted la-ted sugar "i teaspoon vanilla 6 i cups flour 1 1; teaspoons salt 3'i cutis p us 2 tah'espoons rolled wheat (or 2 cups finely chopped nut;) IVj pounds (approximately) powdered pow-dered sugar Cream butter or margarine until light and fluffy. Add granulated and mix. Sift flour and salt together to-gether and add to creamed mix-aure. mix-aure. Mix. Add rolled wheat. Shape with hands into bars about 3 inches long pnd Vi-inch thick. (If it will not stick together, add a little melted butter.) Place on lighly greased baking sheet. To mnke the cookies look like logs, lightly run tines of fork over the surf ce of each cookie. Bake for 20 minutes at 350" F. As soon as the cookies come from the oven, roll them a few at a time in a bowl of powdered sugar. Re-roll, so cookies are well covere 1 with sugar. Dam-ron Dam-ron of Hinckley, announce the Search Now on for Miss Wool of Utah for 1968 This year's Miss Wool program will be a highlight of the 1968 Wool Growers Convention on January 12, 1968. The ladies luncheon will feature fea-ture all entrants in the Empire Room. Five finaxists will be chosen for presentation during the convention conven-tion banquet that evening. Lovely Jan Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Johnson of Salt Lake City and current Miss Wool of Utah, will crown her successor in the beautiful Lafayette Ballroom finals. Miss Wool of Utah will receive a week's ad-expense trip to the Miss Wool of America Pageant site at San Angelo, Texas to compete with nineteen other Miss Wools for the coveted title of Miss Wool of America, wHo receives a $15,000 wardrobe from outstanding American Ameri-can designers, a two week visit to New York and a national tour. She is also awarded a college scholarship scholar-ship of $2,000 and a new Cougar automobile. Miss Wool of Utah wiil grace her own float in the "Days of 47" Parade and will have the opportunity of being sponsored in the Miss Utah Scholarship Pageant and will make other appearances throughout the state. Young ladies between the ages of 18 and 25 inclusive, who have finished one year of college or who are current. y registered in an approved ap-proved col. ego; are at least 5 feet 6 inches tall, and able to wear a standard size 10 dress, are eligible to enter. Sorry I missed writing last week, but I was out of town. I just returned from a nine day '.rip to New York City visiting our son. I found him well and busy, and I had a wonderful time. Nye sends his greetings to all the family fam-ily and friends. If anyone has any news, I'm back again, so call it in to 4971. The Delta 3rd Ward Primary held their Christmas Party on Wednes day. It was a lovely affair and al most 100 turn out. Mrs. Alice Hicks and family are still in Delta and are snowed out of Grants New Mexico. The Helen Mar MeCullough DUP held their Christmas Party Friday 15th and had a lovely dinner and program. Mrs. Les Welton made a trip to Salt Lake last week to keep a doctor's appointment. News is very scarce this week. Hope I'll get some to write next week. Merry Christmas to everyone.
