Show Millard County Chronicle Thursday, December 14, 1967 DESERET ARPHILLA SCOW Mrs. Vilate Maxfield returned home Monday after having spent the past month at Spokane, Wash., with her granddaughter and husband, hus-band, Mr. and Mrs. Steven J. Hall. Mrs. Myrle Bennett has been at Magna with her daughter, LaPreal Justensen and family where she has been recuperating from a recent re-cent operation. Marlow and Carol Cropper of Las Vegas were at Deseret Wednesday where they visited with Marlow's parents, ,Matt and Louise Cropper and friends and other relatives. Sp4 Phil H. Christensen, his wife, Vicki and son, Todd are visit ing a few days with Phil's mother., Mrs. Edna Christensen and his sister sis-ter Beverly Eliason and family. Phil is on a 45 day furlough. He has spent the past year in Korea. The Primary Officers and Teachers Teach-ers entertained their husbands it their annual Christmas banquet, which was held on Thursday at the ward church. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Morris were Stake Visitors. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Bennett have spent several days at Gran- ger with their daughter, LaRue Will don and family. Her husband has been in the hospital where he has had surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Cropper spent Kriday and Saturday in Salt Lake on business. Last Tuesday night in the Lynn-dyl Lynn-dyl Ward Chapel the Boy Scouts from this District held their Court of Honor. Many Scouts and their parents and leaders attended. Visiting at the Lowell Wilkins home over the weekend were their children, Enla and Junior Baird and Barbara and Marion Anderson of Oak City. Lowell is feeling better now. Seems good to see him out. ,Mr. and Mrn. Carl Benson went LeammatoH . . WANDA NIELSON Mr. Alma Harder was injured last Sunday while on hig way to Nephi. There was a slick spot on the road and the car skidded and hit the side of a rock hill throwing Al in the back part of the station wagon, breaking his collar bone in two places and numerous cuts and bruises. The window in the back was broken throwing glass over him. Roger and Nyra Nielson were coming from Nephi and stopped and took Al to the hospital in Nephi. Dena and Arlene were sha-i ken up a bit but not hurt. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Willden and Sandra visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bud McCann and family, also mother, .MillieLovell. Ida Overson and family spent Thanksgiving in Magna with her sister and family Mr. and Mrs. Gloyd Anderson. Ida and children spent last Saturday in Provo. Mrs. Lorna Mclntyre and girls spent last . Saturday and Sunday vis'ting with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mclntyre. Mc-lntyre. Roger and Nyra Nielson went to Tremonton last Saturday looking for a house to live in as Roger will start working there on the 18 of Dec. Miss Marsha Hansen and friend Shana White went to Provo Monday. Mon-day. Mr. and Mrs. LaForge Lovell and family went to Provo Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Larsen of Korea ere visiting with mother, Myrtle Nielson until after New Years, then they will go back to Anchorage, Alaska. They spent last weekend in Milford visiting with brother, Roland and family. The Leamington Relief Society dinner and bazaar was a real success. suc-cess. A delicious turkey dinner was served and so many lovely things to buy. The Relief Society leaders are to be congratulated on all the time and effort they put into making things so nice for the rest of us. Most of the parents of the 3rd grade students went to Delta Friday Fri-day to see their boys and girls participate par-ticipate in a program of the way the Indians live. Very cute. Everyonoe is so busy now just before Christmas, cleaning house, sewing, baking, shopping etc., but please take a few minutes out of your busy schedule to call and tell me your news. I've been getting Hail Columbia for not having any news in but I just don't know any. Got a letter from Beatrice Gunn of Los Angeles. Charley was taken to the hospital Thanksgiving Day with a heart attack. Hope he is feeling better by now. Gayle and I are going down on Monday evenings and taking shop in adult education. We are making cupboards for our utility room and it is very interesting, in fact, I wish there were more Mondays in the week. and Margaret Bradfield in learning ton. Imagine our surprise last evening even-ing after church, while we were watching TV when in came Santa Claus, just checking to see if Carol and LaWrene had been good. Spanish Fork during the week. Snrah Ann Faust and son, ,Dean of Ogden visited her mother and brother, Trossa Jenson and Rex Jenson, ,over the weekend and at-tended at-tended Sunday school. Tressa Jenson's brother-in-law of Mirlvale passed away and she wiil attend the funeral this week. We sympathize with her in her sorrow. Marjorie Clark made a trip to Salt Lake Sunday and will return Tuesday. She will meet her friend Hazel II ill there. Sunday night the program was given by High Councilman Ben I liohison. It was a treat for the ones attending and we want them to come again soon. Barbara Shurtz was released from the Primary and Hilda Oliver was made our new Primary president with Tressa Jenson as Sec. Tres, All the others kept their positions. Mr. and Mrs. Elden Shurtz made a trip to Salt Lake Monday with their baby, Malinda. She will have her cast taken off at this time and we sincerely hope she wll be OK from now on. Beverly Shurtz was home from school during the weekend for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Losee and family. Peggy Stone visited with us a while Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Bliss of Payson visited with Clark and Reva Bliss Sunday then they all visited with Mrs. Alice Bliss in Hinckley. Dec. 21 is just about here. We better begin practicing writing 1968 for its just about that. The weather has been sunny and nice today however, we drove to Tooele Saturday and found they have considerable con-siderable snow there. The roads were good coming home but were a little slick in spots going up in the morning. We have so many families up there, we were disappointed disap-pointed at not being able to see them all in one trip, but enjoyed the day and were very glad our son-in-law, Dave Poulsen, has recovered re-covered so well from his recent serious operation. Mrs. Shirley Sheriff Roberts of Stockton is also recovering from an operation in the Cottonwood Hospital in Salt Lake. Her husband Dan is teaching school in Stockton. We drove out to the ranch recently re-cently to see Mr. Gyln Bennion who hasn't been so well recently. He's feeling some better now. It's so nice to have some of our boys coming home from Vietnam.
